Hi! I am 24 years old, turning 25 this year, currently working in an office setting. I want to start a small business. Anything that will give me extra income for now and help me start a business I really like, like a coffee shop.

I am a former call center agent but I got tired of the routine job and the night shift. I do love my work now as a writer and voice actor.

But I AM NOT GETTING ANY YOUNGER AND I NEED TO START SOMETHING THAT WILL ASSURE ME OF MY FUTURE. There is just a bit of a problem starting up a small business. I do not have a rich family who can provide me or at least lend me the capital. I can't stay at this job for the rest of my life. I need to move now.

Do you know of a bank or company that can help me start a little something? It is a bit hard to be approved of a loan so I would need some alternatives.

ANY IDEAS...? What CAN I do?

the only way to do it is to start with your own money.... loans are not that easy these days

sell stuff during Sat and Sundays. mukhang wala ka pang direction so don't give up your day job.

same here.. not getting any younger and getting fed up with the corporate setting.

looking at my situation right now - i am heavily insured, have low risk investments and having no one to feed.

then again, what if my business fails?....
...

anyone there who succesfully did the transfer from corporate to business?

I'm the same age as you, mikhaila. It IS tough being self-employed, lalo na ngayon credit crunch and all that. Para ngang nag-wa-waver ako... pero sigh, isinusuko ko na kay Lord.
I had money saved up to get me through about 6 months before I quit my normal job, on top of my investment sa biz.
OK nga ngayon habang wala ka pang dependents. Puede ka pa mag-trial-and-error kung alin nga ba type mong business. :) Find a mentor though. Na-mi-miss ko na din ang maraming magagaling at wise elders na kasama.
