Army's 10th ID in need of 250 new soldiers

Camp Panacan, Davao City (25 February) -- The 10th Infantry (Agila) Division, Philippine Army announces the opening of the Candidate Soldiers Course to all qualified applicants for CY 2009. Registration will start on February 23, 2009 at the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Personnel G1, 10th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, Panacan, Davao City.

Interested applicants must possess the following qualification upon registration: (1) natural born Filipino citizen, (2) At least high school graduate with technical skills needed by the AFP, (3) At least 80 percent AFP Aptitude Test Battery (AFPATB) Examination Result, (4) At least 18 years old on the actual start of training, the cut off age must not reach 23 years old by April 2009, (5) good moral character, (6) 5 feet 4 inches in height, (7) unmarried and without child and (8 ) physically and mentally fit for training.

Requirements during registration: (a) Original Birth Certificate (NSO), (b) AFPATB result, (c) For college graduates: original Transcript of Records duly signed by the registrar, and original college diploma; for college level: original transcript of records duly signed by the registrar; for the high school graduates: original high school diploma and form 137-A, (d) local clearances (barangay, mayor, police, NBI, MTC, RTC and provincial/fiscal clearances; and (e) two pieces of latest 2x2 colored pictures.

For applicants from the IP/Lumad Sector, additional requirement is a certification/recommendation from the duly recognized Tribal Chieftain.

The selected applicants will have the chance to be the protector of the country's sovereignty. They will perform multifarious tasks depending on their skills or fields of specialization. Likewise, they will avail the following pay and benefits:

Pay and allowances while on training (Monthly Gross for CandidateSoldier) - PhP8,966.00 and upon enlistment as a Private (Monthly Gross) - PhP13,015.00, Insurance and healthcare benefits, billeting and housing privileges, job security, leadership and other skills trainings, opportunity for career advancement based on performance within the country and abroad, and an opportunity to lead in the Army.
