I jst need to bent out what happened to me last month, I applied at HTMT, at first ok lang naman, I was applying for an agent position, went there knowing that sisiw lang to sakin. Ive been in a call center world for two years now and i know kaya ko to. Mas well known pa at mas malaki ang pinagtatrabahuhan ko kaysa sa HTMT.

The interview went fine. Did well as far as I know, when it comes to interviews, id definitely pass it. Im good at it. Same as I am good when im on the phone with customers.

Then came the exam. They made me take an exam on one of thier PCs. read the instructions and went on with 40 questions for 20 mins. These are brain recking questions that I didnt pass. I ddnt finish it. it was jst too long for 20 mins and Im miss best in english in class but not in math.

So there, the lady jst told me sorry, i cant indorse you for the next test since you didnt pass this.and jst like that, I was turned down.

I started asking myself why ? is what was on their exam the ones i was gonna discuss to customers? sometimes I think we ought to realize that these freakin exam is nothing at all when your on the phone with cust already. its how you communicate and be an aid to the cust in need of help --- not answering math questions for the CX.

BAKIT???

bitter ako i swear! i have worked with well know call center companies and here i am, i ddnt pass HTMT, so... I guess HURRAAAAYYYY for HTMT.

some would say your a good company for having high standard questions on your tests but realize this, u are losing good agents for standards that isnt at all needed in the real battlefield .... and thats the production floor! not your freakin exams!

just my two cents ... i'm not in anyway connected to htmt by the way :)

errr, i truly admire your courage to admit that you are bitter but i think it's a bit shallow to "bash" a company just because you were not able to pass their exams.

i assume that written exams exist, usually to measure the iq of an applicant or maybe, the specific skills needed for the particular account applied for. also, this is the most objective part of the recruitment process since your scores are more or less, an accurate measure of your "knowledge/iq"; unlike interviews which are more "subjective". if you don't pass the written exams, this doesn't mean that you lack knowledge or iq, it's just that htmt probably has higher standards/measures (for written exams) as compared to the other companies you previously worked for.

i've known some people who've been in the call center industry for quite a while but it doesn't mean that they get accepted in every call center job that they apply for because, as i menitoned, companies have different standards; it does not mean that "the bigger/more famous the company, the higher the standards". also, companies have their own criteria in accepting applicants; some may put a lot of weight on written exams, while others put more weight on interviews and experience -- to each his own. htmt probably falls in the first category.

so, cheer up, a lot of "experienced" people who've applied with more than one company in their lives have, at one point or the other been rejected. yeah, it hurts, but eventually, you'll have to accept it. it's part of the job hunting process. there may be some who have a 100% batting average when it comes to applying for a job, but that is very rare, and they must be really good and lucky even. ;)
