hi guys. hirap no? lalo no ka kung sa IT field. kasi kelangan talaga technically skilled or experienced ka. IT din ako eh, fresh grad and still looking..
ANYWAY, tingin ko, basta sinabi sa ad na they "accept fresh grad" understood na yun na ittrain ka nila OR if not, they won't expect Highly of you.

did the initial interview: PASSED
did the exam: FAILED.
Hindi ko kinaya yung exam. Mahirap. (para sa akin.) Genius lang ata nakaka pasok dun. hehe
Pero sayang talaga, ganda nung opportunity. You guys might want to try it: google the "macquarie" website and go to careers page. search for: "IT GRADUATE OPPORTUNITIES." (that's the title of the job position)
good luck! :)

I believe for fresh grads, parang it boils down to:
1. Where you graduated
2. Your Credentials (latin honors, consistent dean's lister etc.)
3. Where you had your OJT
4. How you composed/created your resume (format wise and how straight to the point it was created
I suggest you also look for all possible channels in job hunting not only relying through Jobstreet/JObsDB. When I was job hunting, I checked out my university's website which lists all companies sponsoring the 3X a year job fair (ok napaka obvious ba kung saan ako nag graduate). I check each of the listed sponsors' website in the internet and look for the "Careers" link in each of them. Most companies dont really post their openings in Jobstreet/JobDB. They "lurk" and check out potential candidates and they'd be the one to give you a call if they think you're fit. Also, ask your other friends from the upper batches (through organizations nung college if active kayo noon) and ask them if they have openings for fresh grads.
Be patient lang with the job hunt. And if you're a fresh grad..the only advice our prof told us is that...huwag daw muna mag settle sa Call center job (no offense) kasi mahirap na makahanap ng job in relation to your course if nag Call center kayo agad.

Automatic Centre, Sogo Home and Office Centre, Blims Fine Furniture.
For IT grads ang alam ko lang na medyo related eh yung sa MIS.
For Business/Management uhm perhaps MT or Store Supervisor.
For designer/artist like me, of course same job
For Marketing you can be a Marketing Assistant or merchandiser/trainer
For accountancy, auditing jobs
For undergrads, sales and promo jobs
The office is located at 167 EDSA Mandaluyong, beside VRP Hospital near Crossing. I think they only accept walk-ins during Tuesday and Friday.

i think this link to jobs for IT fresh grads (http://www.jobsdb.com.ph/PH/EN/V6/JS/JobSearch/JobSearch.asp?PN=JobListing&fulltext=1) might be useful to you guys. :)
Of course, if you search through JobsDB.com (http://www.jobsdb.com.ph), you're likely to find many other job opportunities fitting your abilities and training. :)
Additionally, it's also good to create a network, ask people in IT about openings. You can also keep tabs on top companies and follow industry trends.

Below are some job search sites you can try other than jobstreet and jobsdb:
careerjet.ph
imumo.com
phil-job.net
jobquest.ph
bestjobs.ph
careerguide.ph (Philippine Star)
jobmarketonline.com (Inquirer)
You can upload your resume in the above-mentioned sites and sign up for job-alerts that will be sent to your email.
You can also try the official website of your Local Government Unit (in my case marikina.gov.ph). Also check out the Placement Office of your College/University.
Some cities/municipalities also have PESO office (dunno what it stands for but they do help people find vacancies).
job fairs can also help, however be aware that around 70-80% of the booths/participants there are from BPO/Call Center Industry. So if you are quite hesitant to apply in such companies, think twice before going. Better yet, check the list of participants.

(although i did not get the job.) :)
at tsaka dont be scared kapag nakita mo sa jobstreet na, requires at least 1 year experience.. tip ko, mag pasa ka padin! wala naman mawawala. basta ba alam mo or familiar ka sa technical requirements nung job posting eh.. pag nakita nila certification mo, i coconsider ka nun.. ako hindi ko pinapansin yung experienced required, pag gusto ko position pasa padin ako resume haha.. and believe it or not, 'some' of those positions, na "under consideration" ako or na interview..
sa panahon ngayon, we need to be assertive. lalo na tayung fresh grad.
basta ba you have the skills to back up your being assertive eh. diskarte lang yan. gogogo ! *okay*

Hi you may want to try a call center career?
Here are a few reasons why.
1) You get to develop your english communication skills
2) You get to develop your self confidence
3) BPO and Call center industry is getting bigger, thus giving you better chances to work your way up the ladder
4) Starting salaries will provide you the luxury of moving around with extra money, since rates of call center companies are higher than regular day jobs.
5) Call center companies these days are offering day time posts, giving you the benefits of both worlds. high pay and comfortable skeds.
Over all, being involved with a call center company provides you the training and pay that will propel your career to a globalizing Philippines.

hehe..just like u dumaan din ako jan and it really is hard finding a job, and not just a job but a job that is right for your skills..anyway here's some suggestions..
1. never stop searching..sometimes d job u want isn't d job 4u...right now, maybe because lack of experience and proper training,or because you just end up waiting of possible calls and forget to still look for some more..remember a fresh grad needs experience eventhogh sometimes it's very far from your course, still you have to decide which job can help you gain more and more experience and make you land on your dream job.
2. Update your best resume! Do focus on presenting yourself in the CV to get to the first step which is the interview...many people took for granted their cvs..u can search in the net on how to make a power resume but first you must know yourself, stress on your strenghts, show your skills, establish in the resume what differs you among the rest, back it up with specifics including your participation in school, in your past ojts or training and what results were made by YOU!
3. Be prepared! Produce lots of CVs and send lots of emails to different company more on your line of work and also to other company, who knows who will be interested on your qualifications, that's why you must really have a power resume.
4. Search jobpostings in the net and also keep track of friends or other affiliations to get to know companies that can suit you. Friends, not all people have the same luckycharms at the same time that were able to get a job so easily..Do have lots of patience especially if you're aiming at one of the largest of outstanding companies. Remain calm and be persevere at the same time.
5. Never lose hope and faith in God.. Everything happens for a reason..Continue praying ang preparing yourself for the opportunities ahead of you...Goodluck guys!!!

I feel for you guys, it's indeed hard to find a job if you are a fresh grad. Probably what I can share with you is to set your expectations a bit low. Some fresh grads expect to earn a lot of money on their first job. Try to look for any job related to your field and if you get accepted to one that's not really good in terms of salary, accept it anyway. For your first job you're working more for experience than for the money.
One thing that you can also go into is working online. This can already count as a work experience and it pays very well. Try looking at what your niche is and really focus yourself in finding an online job related to it. You could also work part-time so even if you're just a graduating student you can already have some experience under your belt. Here's a link about finding jobs online, you can try to check it out as there are some info there that might help you out. You can also find some job vacancies there at times.
http://makeyourownmoney101.blogspot.com/
Hope this helps, good luck in your job hunt! :)

God Bless You!

Hi guys...I'm a fresh grad too...One day after my graduation I started jobhunting at once...I not only tried jobsites but I browsed through company websites as well...Before I finally got a job offer, I went to at least 5 different job interviews...I'm an IT graduate by the way...
So don't lose heart...Apply lang tayo ng apply...And, if by July, wala pa rin talaga, then maybe it's time to consider applying to a callcenter...Besides, you can still jobhunt on the job...Para lang may income na...God bless to all!...
@niQQQ : Hey!! I got accepted in Macquarie...Thanks for all the tips...I'll try to refer you if they ask for extra IT graduates...:D

hello mhej...panu ka nagapply sa macquarie??how much or anung range ang salary don?

I heard this too...I was actually supposed to take a qualifying exam with P&G last Friday...Pro nung Thursday, tinawagan na ako ng Macquarie...So un...Dinedma ko na...Nag drop lang ako ng resume and other info sa site ng P&G and after 2 days invited na ako for an interview...I remember applying for an IT related position...So I guess available na...

hello mhej...panu ka nagapply sa macquarie??how much or anung range ang salary don?
Hahaha...Yan agad tanong mo ah...I was expecting someone to ask about the type of job Macquarie offers...Anyway, I cannot reveal the salary range here...Kasi kaka-sign ko lang ng contract kanina...All I have to say is, if you're successful in your application with Macquarie, the compensation package is a little bit lucrative especially for a fresh graduate...Kahit IT grad ka pa...

mhej: pano po mag-apply dun sa macquire? may vacant pa ba sila for IT position..? :D
Hi...It's Macquarie, by the way...I applied for an IT Graduate position...It's actually an IT Graduate Programme...No required technical skills except that you should have a degree related to IT (e.g. BS ComSci, ComEng, IT, etc.)...And also, you should either have graduated this year or 2008...
I'm not sure about the vacancies...I start working on Monday...It took me almost a month to get through the entire hiring process of Macquarie...Lam ni niQQQ un...
You can still try to drop you resume on their website...malay mo...open pa...

bale.. punta ka muna sa site nila tapos may online exam (i think it's where you can post your resume). tapos may written when you pass that online exam. tapos pag pass mo yun, may initial interview. tapos may panel interview. tapos may HR.... hehee...

anyway, na invite ako to take exam sa P&G. kaso....... nagdadalawang isip ako. kasi based dito sa forum, 5 months ata bago ma kumpleto ang application mo dun. tapos yung IT daw nila more on project mgt, etc.. *** technical nila outsourced na sa HP.. eh ang gusto ko kasi mahasa ang technical skills.. so ewan ko baka magpagod at mabigo lang ako haha.. i'll think about it. LOL.

your reason is the same reason I did not take the P&G exam...Mabubulok ka sa kakahintay ng results...Pagkatapos, malalaman mo lang hindi ka naman pala pasado at tanggap...
Maybe what you can do, if you're really keen on working with P&G is to get a part-time job while waiting for their call...Off the top of my head, maybe you can apply for a call center position?...Uso ba yun dito?...hehehe...

Brainbench.com
Our assessment products give you the information you need to make more effective hires in an easy to administer, easy to interpret format, so you can focus on the decisions, not the paperwork.
Download (http://www.brainbench.com/xml/bb/business/hiring/productsoverview.xml)our comprehensive Assessment Test Catalog that includes:
More than 600 assessments
Assessment types such as Skills, Knowledge, Personality, and more
Job types such as Administration, Call Center, Finance, Health, IT, and more
Hire Successful Employees
Experts estimate the cost of a bad hiring decision at 20% to 200% of a year's salary. With stakes this high, it's no wonder more and more companies are integrating Brainbench assessments (for example, skill tests) into their hiring processes.
For example, our assessment products help you:
Raise sales performance 10% or more
Reduce turnover by 20% or more
Cut your time to hire 50% or more and with less cost
Improve the quality of your hiring interviews
http://www.brainbench.com/xml/bb/business/hiring/hireemployees.xml
Assessments Provide Key Information and Structure (http://www.brainbench.com/xml/bb/business/hiring/hiringdecisions.xml)
Assessments cannot make your hiring decisions for you. However, they can provide needed information to help you answer key questions:
Can they do the work?
Does their past work history indicate a terrific employee or potential problems?
Do they need training or can they hit the ground running?
Will their attitude enhance or hinder productivity?
Do their interests match the job? Will they stay?
Additionally, by documenting the key dimensions and suggesting interview questions/topics, assessments provide important structure. How much more effective would your hiring managers be at interviewing if they had more structure in front of them?

We're looking for Content Interns who can speak English and any of the following : Chinese, Japanese and Korean. This is a paid internship for Communications/ Journalism (or related) undergrads who would like to learn to develop content for the web.
Content interns will be required to join skill-building seminar and workshops and, may be offered a job after the internship.
By the way, though we're looking for Japanese/Chinese/Korean-speakers, we'd prefer it if the applicants are in Manila.

Maraming c0mpanies ang naghahanap ng fresh grad, depende din kasi sa course mo, ako kasi bschem so mas maraming opportunity since konti lang ang grad ng ganung course, pero yung it,nursing, medyo mahirap since mataas ang competition. Unless mag underemployment ka. Btw, i suggest you check jobstreet, jobsdb, bestjob, or type your place +jobs, example bulacan jobs, pampanga jobs para malapit lang sa inyo.
