Dun sa unemployed who used to be a QA, you can apply for a job na almost similar sa QA responsibilities......If you're in the Software Development Industry, you can apply for PM, Technical Writer, Business/ System Analyst positions.......kasi halos pareho yan ng skills as QA.......try nyo who knows baka mas magenjoy kayo....
Ako currently a QA, pero luckily, meron akong mga PM, System Analyst, Business Analyst, Technical Writer minsan nga IT sales pa na tasks eh.........mas maganda kung marami kang matutunan na ibang work along with your QA skills.*okay*

Client server and Tandem platform.

Just curious...what do you QA? Technical specs? Code? Test Results? Ako kasi programmer-analyst pero part of my responsibilities is QA my own work or review fellow analysts' work (which are mostly code and test results).

It actually depends on the company. Others integrate QA and Testing so QA people do test cases and scripts in various testing activities such as system test, load/stress, and others.
But defining QA itself, it is more like process improvement and continuous monitoring of quality documents, artifacts, and deliverables. So anyone can do QA even if you're an analyst since you're ensuring that the people and the process do it right. Nga lang, QA-trained people are more inclined in SQ principles so no technical stuff hinders their drive for quality product.
BTW, kudos to your employer.

anyone can test naman. Pero iba pa rin if you have dedicated test team. mas mabibigyan nila ng attention lahat ng functionalities. Minsan mahirap to test your own work kasi for sure....may hindi ka makikitang bugs na maaring madetect ng iba. marami ng tools jan na mas makakatulog sa testing na for sure...hindi alam ng iba....mga qa lang. heheehe :rotflmao:

I am currently a QA in a company... i don't really like this job.... well i am just an intern here..
just my opinion... feeling ko walang progress pag QA ka... i mean you don't learn as much as being a system developer...tsaka medyo boring ang job ng QA even if it will pay high

Hi guys, do you know a company that's using QTP for testing and will hire testers kahit na hindi pa nakagamit ng QTP? I have experience using another automation tool pero QTP kasi ang in demand. The problem is, yung mga company na gumagamit ng QTP eh gusto marunong na ng QTP ang ihihire nila. Thanks, and sana may magreply! :)

if you're an intern...meaning you havent tried testing for long time na. its too early for you to tell and judge what QA's can do. there's lot of tools to be used that where you need to code your scripts to make them work....another area for learning.
also....QA's do test different applications created using different languages (java, .net, pb, etc) where you also need to study scripting for these languages to test these application. unlike in programming....kung ano *** major language na alam mo...un lang *** napa-practice mo. though, in demand talaga ang devs kesa sa QA kasi limited lang ang mga nag-QQA...iilan lang ang may mga tiyaga na mag-aral which is an advantage for us....hahahaha

hi...what gamit mong tool ngayon?
Hi, I'm using Compuware's Testpartner now. Kaso medyo limited narin ang use namin dahil nagawan na namin ng automated tests ang karamihan ng regressions so puro run nalang now. Gusto ko sana lumipat sa company na makakagamit ako ng QTP and learn other technical skills. Know anywhere that might be good? :)
