I cant find a specific topic here in working FIlipino thread that suits my question so I decided to make a new one:
To all HR personnel: do you really take into consideration whether an applicant is "inked" or not as a pre-employment requirement regardless of industry? I know it's not too much of a big deal if the work is related to fine arts or other artistic related jobs but what about in a corporate setting?
thanks in advance for your replies. :)

There are companies that have been set for years of conservative tradition. On those companies HR Personel did not mind any of it; but your pre-employment medical have your record submitted to them if they know it then. It will be one of their basis for not being accepted
I am talking only of those conservative companies. Others don't mind it.

Thanks for the reply sir. so Would I be correct to assume that these conservative companies are also the big players in philippine business like Ayala Group, SMC, Proctor and Gamble etc?
Too bad, here's hoping to be employed by one of those group of companies... hehehe :D
Are multinational corporations also conservative?
Can you cite companies who don't consider tattoos as a factor in an applicant's employability? :)

depends on the industry you're applying for (e.g. if you're into client facing jobs or sales) tendency is the company might want to project a certain image and thus the hesitation in getting people with ink.
I believe backoffice jobs (e.g. if you're a clerk in a bank or a programmer or an analyst) that doesnt entail much client interaction then it should be allright but again you need to adhere to the company culture also (e.g. you dont blatantly flash your ink in public)

it doesn't matter in our company... sabagay it's all computer work and no client interaction... unles the clients come for a visit... but that still doesn't matter anyway, as long as they get their jobs done.
they said before that int the food and beverage industry there is prejudice to people who are inked, though I see a few waiters around with large ink sleeves. i guess it depends nga.
