well here's what you need to know right now:

your stock trader earns money for every sale or buy that you do.

kaya they'll want you to sell and buy often. dahil the more often you do transactions, the more often, they'll earn comission from you. :)

well there's basic trading 101 for you.

Search this forum for "BPITrade".

One of the results will be an old and rather LONG thread called "Thinking Of Investing in Stocks? -->The Hows & Wheres Of Investing/Trading In Stocks" which deals with investing in the Philippine Stock Exchange.

Probably the easiest way to get started is to attend a seminar.
PSE and some brokerage firms hold these seminars to educate people on how to invest in the stock market.

These are usually free, no-cost, and no-obligation, and while they obviously want you to join as a client there is very little sales pressure (unlike, say, a MLM).

refer to investopedia.com, it has everything and quite comprehensive and succinct reading for a newbie

Stockcharts.com is a good source too for chart reading basics

Some quotes from the books:D

The game does not change and neither does human nature.

If all I have is ten dollars and I risk it, I am much braver than when I risk a million if I have another million salted away.

Remember that stocks are never too high for you to begin buying or too low to begin selling.

He will risk half his fortune in the stock market with less reflection that he devotes to the selection of a medium-priced automobile.

Yes, there are mutual funds and brokerage firms with a minimum requirement of P5k.

lakas ng VLL simula lumabas report ng SWS na #2 si MV
may chismis, payag si MV na VP ni NDC
pero tuta ni MV si NDC
kaya lalampas 1.00 ang VLL

Minimum investment in mutual funds is 5K as per law. Pero maraming programs na ino-offer ang iba't ibang MF companies that may require higher starting value. Question is which one suits your goals and needs? Take in consideration also your risk profile.
