Globe is first in the Philippines to launch WIMAX. 1) Kung available na ang WIMAX signal sa service address, pwede kang mag-migrate of service to WIMAX, 1Mbps from reg. Globe Wireless Broadband (3G), 512kbps. Punta la lang in any Globelines Business Office to file request/ sign new contract and return 3G Modem, etc.

2) WiMAX is short for Worldwide interoperability for Microwave Access. It is a standards-based technology designed to enable the deployment of wireless broadband access as a cost-efficient alternative to cable and DSL; WIMAX also has improved reach and can cover distances greater than those covered by other wireless technologies like WiFi, CDMA, or 3G.

In layman's terms, it's a new and improved "wireless" technology but similar to "wired" in terms of speed, etc. Parang "wired DSL" ang features pero fixed "wireless" siya! *okay*
