Description:
The System Administrator Level is responsible for direct guidance and phone desktop support to existing and new employees in the Philippine facility. In this role, the admin will work closely with Acton IT Staff and escalate issues as required. This person must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment, and be able to balance priorities. This person will also work with the Director of IT to establish budgets for the Philippine facility and provide system metrics on the Servers, LAN & WAN. This position requires the supervision of the Level 1 administrator, and will assign tasks and priorities as required.

The position includes installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Windows Servers, Workstation and Laptops, as well as desktop application support, including but not limited to: Microsoft desktop applications, Lotus Notes, Norton Anti-Virus, Engineering applications such as VMware, Visual Studio, as well as other 3rd party applications used by the company. Principal/Senior Software Engineer – Customer Engineering

Responsibilities
SeaChange is looking for a strong engineer to fill a role in its Customer Engineering (CE) team. This group works with the Service and Development Engineering organizations to ensure proper resolution of complex post-deployment issues at SeaChange customer sites. In this process, the CE group also supplements product knowledge and extends the monitoring/diagnostic capability of the SeaChange Services team, with the ultimate goal of better serving its loyal customer base.

This key role requires a detail oriented professional who can participate in and manage the release cycle of software patches/updates. The candidate will also be constantly challenged to increase their knowledge of an expanding product set incorporating a wide range of new technologies by analyzing, troubleshooting, and finding solutions for customer issues/problems.

Extensive communication with internal SeaChange Development and SQA organizations and Technical Support will be required to keep all organizations informed and knowledgeable of status on all issues. Will also coordinate the set up of lab tests to replicate customer issues and work with other members of the engineering department to identify and implement needed product corrections. This individual will find great reward participating in and delivering solutions that will influence many SeaChange organizations and customers.

Experience Required

· Willing to travel and provide on-call availability.

In addition, the candidate must have:
· BS/MS EE, CS or related field
· Minimum of 5-8 years in a complex software development environment
· Thorough knowledge of wide aspects of software development including:
System level experience on Windows operating systems, Database applications – SQL
· Proven track record of effective written and verbal English language communication skills with customers, partners, and internal team members

Highly Desirable
· Experience setting up experimental networks, including configuration of servers, hardware and software on host operating systems
· Experience as a Sustaining, Support, Customer Engineer or Professional Services Engineer dealing with complex systems
· Experience with data networking, LAN and WAN architectures and components
· Understanding of one or more of the following: RAID/NAS/Storage, Digital Video streaming or Broadband networking
· Experience on Windows NT/2000/2003. (MCSE a plus)
· Skills such as Cisco & multicast, scripting & batch files, Legato clustering
· Coding ability in C/C++ technologies
