do all companies give only pro-rated christmas bonuses for new hires?or meron din nagbibigay ng full bonus?may alam ba kayong company na ganun?
ganito kasi. masaya naman ako sa work ko, and all of a sudden they transferred me to this unit kesyo kelangan daw ng staff dun. eh, yung iniwan kong unit super daming ginagawa, so nasanay ako sa maraming workload.now etong new unit na napuntahan ko WALA ako halos ginagawa. PEXing all day?is that work?? okey lang sana eh kaso hindi ako naggrow dito. iniisip kong magresign at mag-apply na sa ibang mas may katuturan yung gagawin ko pero for practicality reasons, i can't.2 months na lang ibibigay na bonus namin kaya nanghihinayang ako. palalampasin ko muna sana yung christmas. kaso talagang batong-bato na ko dito. HELP!!!

how new are you?
some companies prorate it, but normally they don't. if you leave before bonuses are sent out, you won't be entitled to it. kaya nga siya tinawag na bonus, it is not mandatory and usually given at the company's discretion meaning subject to their conditions.
lalo na at mahirap maghanap ng matinong lilipatan these days, better wait it out and quit only when you've got a job offer in hand.
kung super bored ka lang, why don't you take up online courses or pumapel ka na lang dun sa mga toxic na departments, siyempre this should be conducted with your direct manager's consent.

ei if i may ask, where can i find online courses?
yun na nga ginagawa ko, nagrereach out ako sa ibang unit para bigyan ako ng trabaho.
im not new anymore sa company, what i mean is if i apply sa ibang company now, prorate lang ba marereeceive ko or may nagbibigay ng full bonus. siguro maghahanap hanap muna ako ng mas magandang lilipatan bago ako umalis.
salamat!

base sa sabi mo, malamang company will forfeit your bonus if you leave before bonus-giving time.
you can bing (http://www.bing.com) for any course best suited for you skillset.
try using keywords "online free courses", "<your skillset goes here>"
goodluck.

What "bonus" are you talking about?
If you are referring to 13th month pay, this is required by law. This is technically not a bonus. When you quit, you should get a proportionate share. Some companies pay this out together with the final pay. Others will make you wait until December or so, and they will pay you along with the rest of the employees.
If you are referring to some extra pay that people get as a result of the company's exceptionally good performance, or the generosity of management and/or the owners, then this is iffy. First of all, the year is not over and the company's results are not yet final. It is possible your company might end the year with a loss, in which case a bonus is difficult to justify for anyone.
I would expect the least, and if I get more than that, I would be happy.

How pro-active are you when you say you reach out to other departments in your workplace? How boring is boring? I guess ang challenge sa yo is you're not being stimulated mentally by what you're currently doing, am I right?
Why not wait it out a bit, and since it's going to be a new year in a few months, business might kick in and another department might post and opening. Then, you can transfer. Is it the management who decides who moves to where or do you personally apply for lateral movements within your company?
I don't know about you, but any work or no work at all, if you're being paid, is something to be thankful for. I know some people who would like to have a job like yours. Use this time for personal growth - whether self-initiated or something else.
If that's 13th month pay, pro-rated pa rin yan to the number of months you've worked for the company. If it's another bonus, the company has the final say whether or not you'll get anything if you leave now. Stay ka na lang muna, malapit na matapos ang taon.

im referring to the christmas bonus, i was kind of expecting the least coz our company is on a crisis right now.i'm actually thinking that i would get nothing but my backpay since its still September.
what i would like to ask is, if i apply to other companies right now and i would get hired this month or either period before december, will i get a christmas bonus in my new employer?coz if i won't, for practicality reasons, i'll probably just wait for our company to give out our bonus before i decide to leave/or not.

i reach out to other units, i approach the sups coz they are aware na i'm not that loaded here compared to my last assignment. and they know that sanay ako sa maraming workload, im not the kind who enjoys petiks time, i get bored easily. boring is too boring that hours seem like years here. you guessed it right, i am not mentally stimulated here.
the management, either transfers you (like they did to me) or you can apply. i am thinking about that too.
i know i am thankful for this job, yet i need to grow as a person as well.

You can start applying for work now. If the pay hike of prospective job will offset the lost Xmas bonus then go for it!

pro rated talaga ang bonuses the same with 13th month pero sa kaso naman ng 13th month mandatory yun while bonuses like christmas it all depends sa company. Performance-based kadalasan ang pagbibigay ng bonuses and not because natuwa lang yung employer.
Think of the consequences na lang if you're to leave the company that is if you already land a new job. Kaya yan :)

TS, baka naman di ka umiimik at di ka nagtatanong sa immediate mo kung anong available na workload.
Yung iba kasi nagiintay nalang sa kanilang boss na bigyan sya ng work.
For now kung wala talaga, intayin mo nalang yung "mandatory 13th month pay" mo (not bonus..I dont call it a bonus) and be productive by doing online courses tulad ng sinasabi ng iba dito. Ngayon kasi mahirap maghanap ng trabaho at mahirap din magsisi in the end.
