Congrats to all new ME's
CMU (Central Mindanao University) is in Bukidnon
This shows that provincial schools are already at par with the schools in Metro Manila in terms of knowledge
I would love to see that someday schools from the provinces will dominate the scene.

Although acceptable, I'm not contented with the passing rate of UST, considering the fact that other provincial schools like BSU & TIP-V sent more examinees and yet, got a higher passing mark. This is besides the fact that the Pontifical University doesn't have any representatives in the Top 10.
Still... Congratulations to the Faculty of Engineering. I hope that the passing rate improves. Remember 2011... :)

Well don't be surprised if this two school surpass UST in terms of passing rate despite large number of examinees... Maraming magaling na provincial schools sa ME.. and even in ME quiz contest madalas silang manalo... sa review centers nga sila rin ang namamayagpag.. yang BSU early 2000 pa lang mas mataas na passing rate nila sa UST.. at mas marami ring topnotchers na napo- produce kesa sa UST.. but in reality no schools really dominate the TOP 10 of ME board exams consistently..

But the passing rates have been, as you said, acceptable naman.

Coming from the Faculty of Engineering but not exactly from this department, I can't say what's wrong with the ME Department (if there is any) but nevertheless, it's a good thing they did improve and went up to second place. They landed third place one or two years ago in their own category. Having been awarded as COD before, definitely the UST ME Department won't settle for less and continue to strive for excellence and having moved one place higher is already a sign. In case of compiled 2002-2006 board statistics of CHED, UST ME is 2nd overall by the way. *okay*

That's great! But coming from UST ME myself, parang di ako makapaniwala na 2nd best performer ang UST sa ME sa CHED. My honest evaluation tells me na pang 4th or 5th best lang ang UST ME. Can you please provide the link for that 2nd best claim? :)

What I mean pala was 2nd ang UST in NCR and still part of top 1O overall nationwide for that period. Regarding Batotoybibo's obeservation, I partly agree. For the the 09 batch alone, mukhang diverse naman sila as in may mga magagaling din naman (may nag cum laude ata in this batch). In fact, yung isa sa 3 BPI Science awardees in UST for 2009, galing sa ME. I guess kailangan lang talaga na mas galingan ng ME Department to motivate their students to excel to be on top again in their category sa board. This is aside from the fact that the former Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Engineering is a ME so I suppose di sila papayag na makantiyawan. Hehe. Still, for that 2nd place and good passing rate - Go USTe!!! :)

So, is the Malayan saga will continue the old tradition of mapua of topping the board exams or will this Malayan univ. will just continue the new mapua tradition of " zero topnotchers" + "less than 30%".
