please help me... Is it advisable to take the board or not? and if ever i didn't make it to take the board. what should i do, like study again, because i want to become a CPA.

hello!
since you are moving to canada, your situation is no different from experienced and qualified people who have passed the board exams, got some working experience then decide to move to the US / Canada.
in the end, kelangan nilang magretake ng Canadian CA or US CPA kasi di recognized ang phil CPA dun.
but then again, i still recommend that you take the board exams here for the following reasons:
1. maganda na ang sigurado - malay mo in a few years bumalik ka ng pinas
2. advantageous na nakapag review ka and pumasa ng CPA board to get that exam feel and experience - you will realize that sitting for another set of exams (and the process of studying for this) will be much easier
3. the more degree you achieve the better for your career
if you are migrating with your parents, ask them if they can give you an extra month or 2 to get this done. i have a friend who stayed behind for 1 month to pass the cpa board before leaving for the US.
the CPA degree helped her to get an entry level job in the US (although she has to study again for the state exams).
i hope your parents understand as this involves your future too.
best of luck!!

Advantageous for you if you'll take the Phil. CPA Board Exam and pass it. There's news that Canada will be moving towards IFRS soon. So, if you plan to take the CGA exams in Canada eh may edge ka na since Phil. CPAs are already accustomed in the application of IFRS.
