I was a working student back in college, at least for almost two (2) years of my five (5) year stay in college (Mapua, Computer Engineering)
I was a fulltime laboratory assistant (7:30AM-4:30PM) at the Physics Laboratory at Mapua Institute of Technology from start of my 2nd year (1992), up to before my 4th year. The pay was PhP 4,000/month; enough for boarding house, books, and personal expenses.

my first ever real job was as a contributing writer at 300 pesos per page...dirt cheap for blood and sweat.
then i worked for my uncle, laundry stuff, as an ad manager and customer care manager, for bleeping free. (but the experience was priceless)
now i finally have a proper job, and i earn 7,000 per month. the pay's not too hot, but the perks (i'm an associate editor, and that means i get a lot of experience doing different stuff) are fab.
btw, i'm a LIACOM (3degrees) graduate of St. Scho.

the first time i was ever paid for anything that resembles like a real job was during my third year in college and i got 8000PHP for about a month's worth of work doing IT stuff.
of course, the rate got better after that.

My info is from 1985:
College: Yale University, B.S. Economics, 1985
First job: Financial Analyst with Merrill Lynch, New York City
First Year Salary: $30,000
First Year-end bonus: $10,000
Total first year pay: $40,000
Today, this same job would probably pay a salary of $50,000 and a year end bonus of $25,000.
First Year MBA's in the US from top schools (i.e., Wharton, Harvard, Stanford, MIT, Kellogg, etc.) earn between $120,000 and $150,000 (and higher, depending on the industry, experience, etc.) in their first year.

My first salary (oh no, here comes the age thing) was a dismal P1,500 a month back in 1986 after I graduated.
Less than a year later, an ad agency offered me P3,500 to move in with them. I thought that was more than double so I agreed, not knowing that my first job was really paying dirt cheap. I could have asked for P6,000 from this ad agency guy and he would not have batted an eyelash. But they've been good to me so I stayed there 10 years, salary increasing every year of course. By the time I left I was earning P60,000 a month. (Thought this was already high, until I moved to a new agency and they scoffed at how much I was getting vis-a-vis my experience.)
When I was "transferred" abroad by the same ad agency to head an account at their branch in Hong Kong & China back in 1992, my salary was US$ 3,000 a month. For two years, I could not complain. Until I found out that the account executive they hired to work under me was earning more than twice that much. He was an American and like me, was transferred from our Chicago branch to come work (for me) in Hong Kong so that I could train him. Naturally, I marched right into the office of my American boss to complain. His rationale is that in the US the account guys were already earning in the vicinity of US$6,000 a month and for them to move all the way to the Far East means a sweeter deal of US$ 2,000 more or so. I guess it made sense, although I did not buy the concept. It did not have a very good aftertaste. So with my principle and self respect intact, I decided right then and there to end my short career abroad.
So now I'm earning definitely much less than 3,000 dollars. But Im happier. (Happy daw!)
Darn it.

Chances are, you won't. Of course, not unless you'll be working in PH as an expat -- e.g. a not-so-Filipino former officemate of mine who used to work Andersen Consulting (AC) in L.A. had an assignment in AC-Manila, which required him to live in Makati for two(2) years. He earned in USD, and most of his expenses were reimbursed.
Extra: I just cracked when he told me his Filipino groupmates had him try Tanduay, and balut.
BTW I'm a peon for a startup company in CA, telecommuting from IL.
