Why do we need foreign investments in this country?

I think the answer to this question would be YES & NO.

Yes, because these companies have both money (which they bring in through their investment here - job generation for Filipinos) and systems in place (which they can teach Filipinos - technology transfer so to speak).

No, because these companies can take advantage of our natural resources as their own and sell them to outsiders for personal gain. Of course, the money they make will then go the pockets of the foreign owners (dollar outflow from the country).

To make it short, companies coming in should be properly screened, weighing the advantages against the disadvantages (in favor for Filipinos) of their being here. Only those who bring in more advantages for us should be allowed access to our facilities.
