how important is it to have your own little corner at work? and how do you really make it "your own"?

it would be nice to get your own little cubby hole with the great view and leather seats.....but it would be darn lonely...hyuk hyuk...i'd prefer the arrangement 1 room per team...more so if your teammates are cool....para kayo ang magdidictate ng mood sa place niyo...labo no...labo nga..

Very important for me, since I'm an OC person. I make sure I have everything I need - supplies and all that. I want to know where everything is. I also label all of my folders - very neat, to the point that I can tell you where a file is even if I'm only the phone. So I would love to have my own shelf and table and cabinet. Thing is, our office is so funky that we have this big table in the middle (weird pa yung shape) so everyone's beside each other. It's funky, but for someone like me, I would prefer having my own area.

my side table is messy but it will be cleaned up soon.
I have a shelf which has no functional purpose, I use it for decorative books and other stuff.
my desk has nothing on it except the computer I work on.

when I have time I will decorate some more!

Its nice to have your own space.. so you can do whatever you want to... like.. hide from your boss... browse some p pics... play cs or even sleep with a comfy pillow on your desk! SARAP!!!!!!!!!

i love my workplace...two to a table, so i'm seated beside our features ed...our place is so irregular that we have nooks and crannies to hide our bosses in. :grin:

plus we get to interact. we keep our little spaces by having imaginary borders, and we make paalam before we cross them, even if it is only across a desk. to personalize things, i get to put in an altar of my own with little momentoes of my life...pix, small batteries, etc.

yun nga lang it promotes clutter. i swore that i would spring clean my desk after every project pero syempre i'd dive at the next and procrastinate.

now i've consumed most of my space and i have several boxes in storage to boot!

those self-help books aren't earning their keep :(

our work space in the Faculty Room is not that comfortable to work in. It's cramped and all the tables are not that wide enough.

But, I make the most out of it. All the things that i need are in one corner of my desk..it includes a bunch of pencils, ballpen, correction fluid, eraser.

The inside of my desk is full of papers, resource books for my teaching load, and i always keep my students' love notes. I read them when i feel so tired and disllusioned

Dito sa work, there are basically 4 workstations in a cubicle.
Maluwag yung cubicle namin, pero sobrang walang touch ng personality.
Ewan ko, hindi naman siguro bawal, pero parang inappropriate lang mag-decorate kasi 24 hours ang operations namin eh so papalit-palit ng schedule at walang permanenteng workstation. Although I have a computer I always use, hindi ko naman pwedeng angkinin na akin lang talaga sya.

okey tong space ko, daming papeles, grabe!! tapos yung telepono laging ring ng ring nakakabwiset na talaga kac ba naman nawalan na ako ng time makipag usap sa chicks ko kac yung mga cliente laging nang-aabala. tapos ang dami dami pang librong babasahin at tong laptop ko, kailangang fully charged kac sa pagninigamit ko sa plane, isang oras lang ubos na battery. katabi netong opisina ko is bathtub.. oks ba? kac ganon ang design para pag stressed out ako, lay down muna ako sa tubig for 4 hours oks na oks. then sa gitna may television at dvd at saka cable na rin.. para malibang ako habang nagskating sa trabaho ko. ganon lang talaga;.. kailangang maraming gimik para matapos ang 9-4 ko. sa kabilang pinto may gym ako, merong isang treadmil at konting weights. sa kabila naman may sauna at chaka whirlpool.. ayan so 5 and half hours na akong bandying bandying lang. order muna ako ng channelo's kac tinatamad akong lumabas for lunch so ayan, hintayin ko na lan gyung delivery. dun sa isang table my isa pang workstation para gameplayer ko lang. nakakabit sa local area network kac kalaban ko sa games yung vp ng company. isa pa rin yong gimik gimik lang. etong wallpaper ko okey na okey kac light ang dating. ang daming meaning kaya ayan tuloy lagi akong nakakatulog sa office kase napuyat na naman ako sa clubbing kagabi. 5 am ng umaga ako umuwi, tulog ng 2 hours tapos balik sa opis. ganito na lang araw araw nakakaboring na. after market hours naman bumibisita ako sa mga cliente kong matalik so ang office ko is mas maliit. nasa plane ako while my sekretary is massaging my back..umm sarap buhay.. tong buhay pinoy pre. easy life lang di ba. ganon lang talaga. konting gimik lang at politika, di mo na kailangang magmagaling kac pakitang tao lang yun. natural lang. pinoy tayo eh. so sa susunod na lang. kakapagod magtype dito, may kachat pa ako sa kabila eh. till next time.

I like my cubicle now kasi enclosed siya (Dilbert-like). Di kita yung PC ko and whatever I'm doing. And I can decorate it if i wanted to. Kaya lang katamad. Don't like the colors though, a gloomy blue. But I have my own phone, a nice comfy seat, lotsa drawers and 3 visitor chairs.

Although I miss my old cubicle during my last job. The phone had caller id. Nasanay na kong mag-screen ng calls eh.
