View Full Version : Achieving balance

It's my first time to actually "go online" so am a bit nervous here. The demands of my work, plus, of course, my ambition of making it BIG in the corporate world has left me little time to meet new friends (most of my old ones are now working in the US). However, that is not to say that I do not value friendship. The number of candles in my birthday cake made me realize I'm not getting any younger, and would need to make the most of my time with my earthly existence. So I've finally decided to do something about the things that matter a lot to me. To be honest, I'm hoping I could meet new interesting people in cyberspace that I can potentially forge new friendships with... so here I go...
I grew up in the province, got a good degree from one the the country's top universities, and eventually landed a job in the jungles of Makati. It's my first job and I've been here for almost 9 years. Fortunately, all that dedication has paid off and I now hold an executive (surprised?) position in this 8-to-5 job (which is more like a 7-to-7 job for me!). So here I am hoping to meet kind souls out there who share similar concerns and interests...
BTW, I'm female and single.

Hi the_archer! We're having a Makati Workers' Lunch EB on May 30 (Wednesday) at Salumeria at Perea St. Hope you can go! There will be a few regulars, but we haven't met some of the members who confirmed like lips, tina11, and cherub_08. Hope you can go! You can email me your celphone number at caramba@pinoyexchange.com and I'll reply with my number. :girly:

Hi CaRaMBa! Thanks for the invitation. I'm excited to meet you guys, but May 30 is not a good date for me since I already have a scheduled lunch meeting on the same day. Am also somewhat nervous about meeting you all in person since I have no idea what your group is like. Can you describe the group?

If CaRaMBa is part of it, it must be a good group. ;)

Welcome!! This thread (http://www.pinoyexchange.com/forums/showthread.php3?threadid=10719) was set up for introductions for The Working Filipino.
I also feel the same way as the_archer. I have an "executive" position in our little company, though my main work is Internet engineering.

Hi the_archer, I got your email. Sayang, you won't be able to join us for lunch. Next month na lang. We try to have one lunch per month.
We don't have a 'group'. Anyone can go to the lunch, even if they don't work in Makati. But if you want to know more about the members, you can click on the link that zimdude posted. PExers are mostly 16 to 28 years old, most of them are college students and yuppies. I can't really describe the members - iba iba talaga eh.
Hope to see you on the other threads. :girly:

the_archer: Sayang you couldn't join us, 19 kami yesterday sa Makati Workers Lunch EB. Hey, email me your celphone number so I can text you mine - you might want to go to Starbucks Tower 1 for coffee, or kahit sa caf lang natin sa taas (I always buy Funwich there).
Hope you can join our next lunch EB. :)
