Di ba overkill ang space (at papel) na nauubos sa djaryo ng globe at smart ads. parang 1/4 na ng djaryo ang ads nila pag weekends diba?

I'm sure the marketing executives at Smart and Globe have their reasons for spending that kind of money on advertising. And as a stockholder of both Globe and PLDT, I sincerely hope the managements of these companies can justify that all that spending is worth it.
As a reader of the ads, though, I will agree with you that the ads have done what they're supposed to do (create awareness). I learn nothing new from reading these ads, which I see every weekend, and I tend to regard them as a waste of time and paper.

The print ads are especially useful for pushing their value added services such as Globe's X-Men application and Zed's MTV tie-up. Why? Because they can give you the instructions on how to use it, with the user's ability to try it once they read it.
