Did you ever do things like this, its like having a multi tasking job. When you go to work not only you are there to do your usual job but also excited to surf, chat and emails those far away friends...

multi-tasking is actually a very underrated skill. :D
but seriously, some people who have a short attention span (like me, hehe) need to take a break and surf the net once in a while. just be sure that you get your work done on time :)

People often tell me I'm always hard at work in front of my pc. If they only knew what I was doing.... playing online games and PExing pala :D

that's what i do too. while working on a client's website or answering business and personal emails, PX and chat sa IRC and ICQ on the side para **** di maantok. may deadlines naman ako sa pinaggagawa ko sa, i know my limits.and besides, no body is watching me (like some of you who access the Internet from the office) so, tuloy ang ligaya!!

Just make sure what you're doing is line with your office's policy on use of internet. :looking: I'm aware of some who got indirectly booted out because of cyberslacking (the poor guy didn't even know how to clear up his cache/navigation history).
I have broadband access in my own quarters - a conscious decision on my part -(ave. of 60+ kbytes/sec, peaks of 100+ kbytes/ sec.. which is good in viewing trailers in apple.com,) so i feel no need to do my surfing in the office (besides our PC is so outdated it hangs when simultaneously opening 4 windows and takes forever to display pages - I always bug our IT to upgrade but you know how it is...tightwads).
I am :borg: We are on to you

Lets assume that you are efficient and can do your project in 80% less time so you justify the extra time para mag petiks-petiks, aren't you hogging the much needed bandwith of those who have legitimate need. Just playing devil's advocate

ahh okey, good to know that there peoples really do this beside me..hehehe..when im at work i usually surf the net and research something about web development and web design, so its no problem with me if my boss see me surfing, but i usually peek on the chat room sometimes...and beside our office is the one that maintain the internet connection in the campus..and i sit all day to work on the web design...and sometimes nothing to do so as what ZEN said id rather look busy than sleeping during office hours.....

Not all has internet connection in my office. Only those who got to do with there job like me transmitting money to ACH/Bank. Sabi nila na minomonitor daw ang may internet connection ng MIS dept., so I just do it kung its time to transmit. I usually surf on my lunch hour pero minsan di talaga matiis, humihirit ako. Na addict yata ako sa Pex kse I cant wait to go home para sa bahay na lang sana.

i'll have to say that 75% of the time, i'm not working at work. i work 2nd shift until next week--thank goodness!!i'm either surfing the net, playing games, talk on IM. hmm what else...oh yeah and on tuesdays i watch buffy and thursdays i watch friends--before the season finale of course.
but believe me--i'm not alone. my whole department is wacked out!! sometimes they have water gun fights or they play hackey sack (takyan?) while the music from napster is blasting.

Early this year, I received an email notice regarding my surfing habits during office hours, grabe, I didn't know that our Systems dept monitors what we do online (downloading mp3 files!!!). Banned site na sa amin yung Yahoo Mail and YahooGroups buti nalang di kasama PEx! :D
Hmmm... will they every trace your online activity when you log on as "administrator" on your own pc? :hmm:

as far as i know, the network administrator can surely know what you have been visiting and they can see whose IP is searching and doing what...i have seen this is our department where the Administrator actually demonstrate how they can trace and how they monitor the users and what they are surfing the net. its good thing that my IP address is a direct line, so he did not monitor my usage.but what a heck our internet connection in free for us, no matter how long you are online.....

Sometimes surfing the net is needed in my job. Most of the time, I just go to places I've been anyways. But it helps to reduce stress. :)
