Megamass and weightgainers are mostly mixtures of proteins and/or carbohydrates with lots of other vitamins and amino acids and other nutrients required for muscle development.
They are just made to supplement your diet. They are very expensive but they are effective and will work well with a well-planned diet. Be careful because most of them are milk-derived so if you're lactose intolerant then taking them would be an awful experience; then, instead try whey proteins without lactose.
From experience, if you want to lose weight or gain good weight (i.e. to add muscle and not fats), relying on them alone would not help. Quality time in the gym, plenty of rest and sleep, lots of water, plus the high-calorie-high-protein-low fat diet
and the protein shakes and candybars (you have to eat full dinner like 5 times a day) are all required to develop serious mass and improved your physique. If that is your goal, check the websites on bodybuilding, they might have lots of pointers for beginners.

What is the proper way of breathing when doing push ups? Is it exhale when going down; inhale when going up or the other way around. My friend told me once but i forgot. He also said that when your breathing is wrong, your muscles won't grow. Is this true?
thanks

The proper way of breathing when doing your push-up is: exhale when pushing smoothly upward, inhale slowly while pushing back down.
Breathing has nothing to do with growing muscles. It is more on properly doing these exercises. But nevertheless, proper breathing will make you do your exercise routines with ease and will not make you run out of oxygen. :)
