I'm kinda problematic now...
I brought my Nokia 6210 cel to semicon last june 20 for repair, problem nya is loose space key and intermittent power problem after it got soaked on a salty water last may, but actually aside from that it's working fine naman and i could still use it for calling/texting. So not to make things worst, I brought it to semicon for repair and cleaning na rin last june 20. parusa magparepair coz i waited for one month and 1 week bago sya marelease ng semicon, july 26 sya nirelease ng head office and nakuha ko sya july 30. and alas! they were not able to repair my phone and worst di na sya gumagana all the time! syempre nagreklamo ako dun sa tech and all he can say are puro excuses..
and nakita ko dun sa history slip ng pon ko naadmit sya for repair ng tech sa head ofc july 25, more than 1 month mula ng isubmit ko sya for repair, excuse nila marami daw kasi silang for repair, so 1 month pala ang backlog nila...

gusto kong magreklamo, but i don't know where and to whom... sobrang nakakainis na sila! please help me and advice what can i do...

to kuyadanny et al, please advice me...

It's gonna eat up the electronics inside and your unit is gonna die sooner or later. Semicon should not have accepted it for repair in the first place. Sorry.

Gusto mong magreklamo? There are many alternatives.

1) Did you pay Semicon anything? If not don't pay. If yes, try asking for your money back. Write a letter aside from talking to people. Send it to the tech's boss and go as high up the organization as you can. Ask for a refund and a new phone.

2) Is the phone under warranty? If yes, ask for a replacement from the company who gave the warranty.

3) Write a letter to some newspapers in the hope that at least one of them publishes your complaints.

4) Think of suing this company and consult a lawyer to help you. This will cost money, though.

5) The Department of Trade and Industry is our country's consumer protection agency. Find out what the procedures are for lodging a complaint and do so.

None of these actions, by the way, is guaranteed to get you the results you desire. But you can always try.

Warranty normally covers factory defects and normal usage. Unless the product specs of Nokia 6210 explicitly states it works underwater, I would think the warranty is void. However, you can always give it a try. They may give you a replacement just for the show. I remember last year, 6210s were being given away to retain the loyalty of certain subscribers.

accidentally yes.. that happened last May 13, I didn't use it for more than 24hrs, let it dry first and then turned it on, ok naman sya.. it was in my pocket nung mabasa while riding off on a boat (biglang tumaas kasi alon..) pero di sya matagal nabasa... and i was able to use it flawlessly for less than a month...

you said sooner or later? if semicon knows that and they really care, they wouldn't let it wait for more than 1 month bago nila tignan, june 20 ko sinubmit and then july 25 nila tinignan, huh! ***** nga they should not accept too many customers kasi they're not capable of handling them, and worst the burden will be carried by the customer. Should they not accepted my phone for repair, i might have used it at least the last few weeks bago nga sya masira!

Bakit nila inaccept? because they collect service fee pa din kahit di sya marepair... galing noh?

I paid P330 for the service fee. One reason why semicon keep on accepting celphones for repair, kasi whether they repair it or not, they can collect at least P330 for every unit.

I bought it from greenhills, no warranty :(

I couldn't afford it... and not really thinking of that...

that's what i actually wanted to do, at least they would know how irresponsible these dealers can be...

Some questions:

When you dropped off your phone at Semicon, did they give a date by which you could expect to get a response from them? If they did, did they make good on their promise?

balanuS: i left my phone at semicon last june 20 and they told me that i could get it from them 2-3 weeks after that day. i was the one calling them almost everyday to ask about the status of my phone (considering how hard it was to get in touch with them, it's either the line is soooo busy or no ones answering the phone! i started calling them after 2 weeks...) all in all... they didn't keep their promise...

and one comment pa, yung cashier dun sa semicon (Semicon, SM SouthMall, Las Pinas) was sooo suplada, dapat kasi yung mga ganon dina humaharap sa customer. When i paid for the service fee of my phone (na nasira nila), i asked for my phone slip (me mga info dun actually) medyo nainis saken kasi binalikan ko pa talaga, nainis ata kasi nakikipagtsikahan sya dun sa isang cashier nung magbayad ako.

skyz, this looks like a "low potential payoff" battle. About the only thing you can fault this firm for is promising to get back to you in 2-3 weeks and not doing so. You might then argue that their delay aggravated the corrosion damage to your phone. But that would be like talking to a brick wall.

I think the most expedient solution will be to pester them to return your P330, and either have your phone fixed elsewhere or say good bye to it forever.

naku, pangit talaga ang service ng semicon. dami nang reklamo tungkol diyan. anyhow, kung sira pa rin ang phone mo, try taking it to nokia pro. it's at tomas morato, qc.
