Aside from ballpens, T-shirts, and memopads, what are useful to you and make the company memorable?
The neatest I got, was a maglite (flashlight) from MCI, before it was acquired by Worldcom. The most useful are "ad cubes."

I can always use umbrellas and clocks. With umbrellas, which are usually given away in December, the logo value is realized when they're put to use five months later when it starts to rain.
Clocks, on the other hand, display company logos year round.

The ones that are useful and memorable are usually the expensive ones. Here's my list:
Stainless steel mug - I like mugs. I can use it for coffee, or if not, for my pens. Looks cool pa.
Cool calendar - Of course, I will only use calendars that look really nice.
Post its! I collect post its and I really find them useful in the office.

an AMD Duron 850Mhz on a broadband connection with a 128MB AGP video card, and 512GB HD having 1GB of SDRAM hehehe :D *wishful thinking*
if they can't give that I'd settle for a good umbrella that's reliabe and not too small or those Cross ballpens with my name etched into it... that's be cool

It has to be for the general public not necessarily professionals so calling card holder is out. Ceramic mugs hmmm kaya ba ng 70 pesos yun. Also yung hindi masyadong common...

how about NICE bags with the company logo? hindi yung design parang panahon pa ni mahoma(i.e. that really archaic green bag Prudential Bank gives out, my gosh, panahon pa ng lola ko ganon na ang give away don). I think Umbrellas are pretty good as well, it's useful and everybody seems to lose them every so often, so a good umbrella is always handy.

There's this giveaway Glaxo-SmithKline Beecham is distributing to doctors, it's very attractive and actually pretty cool--it's a pen-shaped screwdriver of sorts, very handy. I doubt if it costs a lot, since they're very generous in giving these out when they're "covering" antibiotics in the clinics. I'll show it to you when you decide to come out of your cave and rejoin Philippine society.

You can use GIFT CERTIFICATES as excellent corporate giveaways!
My company, GCPhilippines.com (http://www.gcphilippines.com) , offers GCs from over 70 popular retailers in the country, and we also personalize, package and deliver nationwide (thanks for letting me plug..)
For personalization, we take care of printing the message from you, the recipient's name and your name, of course. Looks like you did all the work yourself...
There's also lot of packaging options to choose from... our premium cards are made from hand-made paper and the designs are exclusive to GCPhilippines.com.
Delivery is handled by Aboitiz Express within 48 hours normally, for major cities in the Philippines.
We have clients from different industries (e.g. telecoms, insurance, manufacturing) who use GCs for different purposes... corporate gifts, sales & marketing programs, HR incentives, etc. The applications are endless! ;)
GCPhilippines.com is the first and only company doing this in the Philippines.
Anyway, if you want more info, just email: gifthelpers@gcphilippines.com

Art, you gave a budget, that's why I posted those things. Mugs cost around P50-P60 with printing already, although 3 colors lang. I would think that the not-so-common products will be more than P70. Other possible stuff: pen holders, mousepads (common! but if you can come up with a cool one, why not?), screen protectors (although this costs P100), and address books.
Oh yeah, who's your target? That would help.
RitaB and vampy, please send a private message to Art or email him. Plugging shouldn't be done here. This is supposed to be a discussion on giveaways.
Trinity, yep, those are nice. But they're mahal. :depressed: An umbrella will cost at least P90, according to Leigh. Fortune gives away REALLY nice bags. Pero shempre, Fortune yun eh. Leigh, ano pang companies here in the Phils. who gives away really cool bags?

hi art,
you mentioned earlier that it has to be for the general public, hmmm...umbrellas(these items tend to be more expensive, and a little common, but if you have umbrellas which are really nice, cool :) recently, there are some organizations with wooden handles)
Directories are ok, coz people really tend to use them. Recently, a lot of people have been using the -plastic containers/folders
(where people put their files and their letters), not only are they being used in offices, but in schools too. They sell them for about 80 pesos, but am sure if you buy a lot, you can still lower the price. I personally haven't seen companies yet who give away these folders, maybe you can try it, my worry is that maybe it'll be hard to print on.
If we are talking about bags, recently i have seen Discovery Suites and Mega Magazine with their Black Bags. the texture is like paper but it doesn't tear, i don't know how to call it. There are some groups also which giveaway bags that are the drawstring ones. They are nice to be given away with small pens inside, women tend to use them to keep their kikay stuff. These drawstring bags (around the size of a one - fourth sheet of paper) will cost you around 40 - 50 pesos for 500 pcs) this was last year.

Some of the nice giveaways we had include a tumbling calculator with clock and time zone converter, a drawstring bag, waterproof shoe bags (very useful!), nice keychains, jacket, umbrella, pens, maglite, luggage tags (esp. if it's leather), and caps. I'd really like to get a nice mechanical pencil, though.

So we got some giveaways from the PEx party. The JobsDB mug isn't particularly attractive. The "Chubby" neon green and magenta pen doesn't fit the PEx image even with www.pinoyexchange.com on the clip.
CaRaMBa
Sep 18, 2001, 04:23 AM
I would have to disagree with your comment on the pen. A lot of people actually like it - they find it cute. It's like PEx. Lively, 'cause the colors are lively. Also, if you wanna push it, there are different kinds of people in PEx, that's why we had different colors for the pens.
But anyway, thanks for your opinion.

Especially if you're going to use it in the office. It'll just look so hsotile to your superiors - as if you're taunting them. If they take it the wrong way they may even have you terminated.

Yeah I agree.. An HR Friend of mine attended the Party and she got the mug.. it would be horrifying if she was to use it at the office.. it's like an "in-your face" advertisment to look for a job..
Imagine my boss's face.. !!! hahahaha and to think at this time there are about 3 of our office mates resigning..

I dunno, maybe it's where you put "butts" :teehee:
As for the original topic, counted ba yung stuff they give you for work or as a perk? If we're counting those, my co. gave me an IBM T21 Thinkpad.
