My friend, may I offer some unsolicited advice?

1) Don't go comparing salaries with anyone. You'll almost never be satisfied anyway, and you might just end up getting depressed.

2) You're based in Cebu, so salaries there aren't the same as those in Manila. Comparing them would be like comparing apples to oranges.

3) Your salary is not your value. Your value is how much you have learned, and how good you are at using that knowledge to help a company. If you have learned a lot, and use it well, believe me some other company will pay you a great deal for that knowledge. The advantage of working in a bank, though, is that you're pretty sure it's a stable company, and benefits for those who stay long are top-notch. Plus, your credibility is assured if you've worked in a recognized bank.

Don't despair. I'm sure your pay will increase over time, and so will your benefits. At the very least, you will learn more and gain valuable experience. Who knows? Some other company may choose to pirate you someday, or you could find out for yourself if there are greener pastures around... Good luck! :)
