You have to get used to this schedule dude. Call Center pinili ng GF mo eh. May ibang trainees nga 6 AM to 3 PM ang schedule and they're coming all the way from Bulacan or Cavite.

And kung pumasa man siya after Client Specs pwede siya pa assign sa Alabang Office.

Kaya po rant nga lang, call center din po ako nagtratrabaho so I know how it works. Doesn't mean I/we can't feel bad about it, right? ;)

you could be promoted even if you're probationary employee... the last 3 months will be the only one qualified for review... meaning even if you've exceeded the metrics in your first 3 months, you can't use that for promotion, you have to use to the last 3 months...

for TSR's, you are at TSR 0 if you're probationary employee, but you will be moving up to TSR 1 once you get regularized..

i had my initial interview earlier at Etel and also had the 3-part exam. was lucky to pass the test and the interviews and told me to come back tomorrow. i was very happy until i found out i have to go to our province tomorrow due to family problems and my brother told me it was really urgent. :rolleyes:

I'm about to transfer to another program.... kktapos lang ksi ng winter peak so nagttangal na un program ko which is XOR. Given 2 choices , Cingular ( parang customer service ng mobile lines ) then AOL. Which program is ok? kung may email support lang dito sa etel dun na ako. Now i know how life here in Call center looks like. it's close to hell. Any suggestions??? pls help kng may iba pang program na pde lipatan. kng pde nga sa admin nlang ako para wala nang calls.... or sa payroll hehehe sna may mag share lang dito.... have no plans on awol but i might just finished my 6 month contract then that's it. Tnx

Dell or AOL is great if your OT adik double-tripple pay ang bayad ng OT mo.
you can get 20$ or 500pesos if you will render OT for few hours like 3-4hours makukuha mo pa mismo sa araw na un.
then bukod pa *** pay mo sa 15th at 30th.

I have a question regarding the interview process here. I applied last month, I got my first interview by phone a day later, and then I had my second and third interviews (along with around twenty or thirty other applicants) just a little over a week after that.

I applied for both TSR and CSR positions. The intelligence and tech support questions were OK. I found a few difficult but I managed to answer most of the questions and then return to my unanswered questions before time was up. At the end of that day - around 6 or 7 pm, there were only four of us left. My third - which was also the last - interview seemed to focus on things I believe are unimportant to accomplish the job, especially as a techie.

I know I've got more than enough of the necessary skills. It's the interviews I always seem to have a problem with. I believe that the best way I can improve my chances at finally landing a job would be to learn from my mistakes. I have my suspicions about where I went wrong, and I'd list them here, but they would take up a lot of space. I would have preferred to ask the interviewer about my negative points, since she was the one I was most comfortable with out of all three interviewers I spoke with from ETelecare (I was very nervous during the first, a little less on the second, and the third was a lot nicer than the rest), but I've been holding back from requesting at least a summary of her assessment of me because I'm not sure whether or not the company would appreciate my doing that - as if I'm insisting that they hire me:D .

I consider being rejected as good interview experience, and I'm being open-minded about the job-hunting process, but I haven't bothered applying to other companies yet, since their interview processes are probably similar, and I don't want to waste money buying photos which will probably just be shredded or disintegrated (unless they really are kept on file for a certain period of time). Speaking of photos, isn't printing a 2x2 photo on the résumé good enough? I ask because I think that would be a lot less expensive in the long run.

Any advice from those of you in this forum who are more experienced, or those of you who are currently employed by ETelecare would be greatly appreciated.

I'm also asking for any (preferably insider) tips on passing the third interview for those of you who've managed to make it. I have never asked for information regarding salary at any of my job inteviews, and I've been told not to be too honest during any job interview, so is it possible that too much honesty was one of the reasons I messed up? The interviewer may have assumed some things and made negative points on my personality (actually it was on my résumé - I saw her writing on it everytime I answered a question :D ), without pointing them out to me. You seem to have gotten through, Havenlestat ("when i applied here as tsr" ), so I'd really appreciate your help - unless "applied" is the word I should have stressed... I'd make it up to you if I can. I don't intend to apply again anytime soon, but just in case....

yeah i actually felt the same way when i was interviewed. specially the interview after the i pass the exams, questions were more personal.

was really nervous on my interview @ eTel coz the interviewer was already asking another question when im still talking. i think it was more like a test of your confidence and how you approach things.



im really enjoying my stay now at eTel. we are on the 3rd week of training, the 1st wave of new hire for Matrix HSB. info overload the past 2weeks but all in all everything is fine :D

Tidus > No special reason not to do an AWOL with eTel, it's just a tip because in the first place, it's not the proper way to do it, second, the experience that you are going to get here would be put to waste because you couldn't use this in your CV right? Well unless you want your next employer to know what happened... Having said that, TIME. You can't turn back time... and so make the most out of it. Make the most while you're with eTel or any other company for that matter. Let's face it, some of us are not sculptured to work in a Call Center industry and we might find ourselves out of it, one time or another., but for what it's worth... the time that we have invested and the experience that we could get is something that we shouldn't overlook.:)

I think, for interviews, one of the things that you have to avoid is nervousness. I know, it's easier said than done, because my first interview with Ambergris was nerve-racking... but I think if you know how to handle it, you'd pass it.... one nervousness gets the better of you... man, it's going to be difficult for you...

You just have to be yourself, be confident, be conversational, look at the interviewer's eyes, avoid mannerisms, don't slouch... all those stuff...

about the one you said "testing personality before your knowledge and skills"... well my take on that is... the company is hiring you because of your skills and knowledge, but the fact that they are going to deal with your for at least 8 hours a day, 5 days a week... I think the company also needs somebody whom they could build relationships with... it's not just about the skills, it's not just about the knowledge, it's about the values that you have... specially with eTelecare... we have Culture and Values... hehehe

pay is good and allowance is great. quarterly bonus is interesting. training is extensive but im enjoying it. our training is around 4-5 weeks with full pay (school environment :D ). lastly 30% night diff :eek:

Thank Gawd! I am finally hired in Etelecare after three attempts not including that day I got hired. It was pretty quick and unusual since it was done on a Sunday, I was actually jumping up and down sa office when they finally offered the contract.

Sheesh, I have to admit I almost cried...

i think you got the wrong impression of what a "bond" is. it is actually a certain amount that youll pay if ever you leave the company before the contract expires. there's no such thing as 7.5k salary in a month here in etelecare :rotflmao:

well, nung una kong nakita *** "bond" i was very curious why do we have that. in my personal opinion, its like a security bond for companies that will train employees before dispatchin them on the floor. think of it, the company will shoulder all the expenses for your training for the 1st 30-45days, isnt that big? well as far as i know wala pa akong nabalitaan na pinagbayad ng bond or was sent to jail due to failure to pay it :rotflmao:

lastly why should you be thinking of that when you are confident that youll finish your contract *okay*

Simple questions to eTel vets. Granted that you get the most basic 12k staring salary plus benifits. How much, in your experience, would be the take home salary per 15 days?

Also, what do you think a seasoned tech like me would get as a basic? Still 12k?. I have 2 years in call center experience as a tech rep, over 7 years general practice in IT. I currently work for Siemens as a Toshiba Laptop tech and previously worked for Convergys as a DSL/ Dialup tech. A total of 2 years on the callcenter biz.

you mean compet training? communications training? if it is compet well afaik you wont be getting the whole pay because you havent signed the contract yet. i think you'll get an allowance of 150 per day. its much like of a language training where they want to see if you can improve on some of your skills. if you pass them, contract signing is next and then the training/orientation (full-pay).

I applied last last week in teleperformance. I made it to the final interview but did not got the job because i think the the final interviewer that time was not really in the mood. its possible to be hired as a TSR even though you applied for a CSR post. i think theyll be basing it on the scores of the exam and yes eTelecare offers 2/7days off (any day of the week). about sa inbound accounts for CSR, afaik meron kami M&M, American Express, Sprint, etc...

Kahit na siguro etel doesn't give the highest salary out there, atleast they give us the best training to be the World Class Worldwide. ehehehehe,, mukha na ba akong sipsip? lol. I used to do those kind of things. I mean read forums first before going to a company and I just based everything there. Naniniwala xe ako kaagad sa chismis or sabi sabi. ehehehe,, but I realized that you don't really know until you experienced being hired in that company. I'm enjoying my stay with etel. hahaha. dude, sorry ka na lang at PET pinagbigyan ka. Those who have good comm skills don't even have to go through PET. Those who are asked to go thru PET ay yung may pag-asa pa ayusin. E 40 kayong di maayos. Ayusin mo muna ang comm skills mo because it is a REQUIREMENT to have good comm skills sa call center industry.

Thus, if you still have not passed the PET, then that means something... just go figure...

it has a bond of Php45,000. so its looking for a long term employment,*** you better be sure na ur ready to work for about 8 or 7months..hndi pdeng resign resign or terminate.or you will have to pay that huge amount...:(

Can anyone give me an idea how much the offer is for supervisory/TL or QA analyst positions hired externally? I have been told that we don't have any NCC with your company.

I have been with PeopleSupport for more than 2 years now. The only reason I have for moving would only be "pagtitipid." I live near Alabang and that would save me more than 2-3K a month of travel expenses, not to mention that my travel time would be lessened by more or less an hour.

Also, would any of you guys give me an idea how the "work culture/atmosphere" is in eTel? I guess, the answer to that would be the clincher.

i think i'm way, way too late from answering the orig question but anyhoo, for the benefit of those about to have the lpet training too, expect intros about accent and a number of english-speaking activities of course. other than that, i can't reveal more of the content here. just expect the unexpected especially if your language trainers are crazy (like me..hehe). anyway, the company dress code policy's implemented for everybody to follow, including the trainees; that is, no sleeveless shirts, micro minis, jeans or sneakers from monday-thursday.

what should you bring? bring at least a pen.

what to do? just be a good trainee and the rewards are great :D

anyway, it's not true that only 10% pass lpet.

i took the exam last 20th of march. fortunately, i passed and so on...i got to a job offer. i didn't expect that the offer for entry level is quite low compared to how much im earning now.the guy who discussed to me the offer said that there is a signing bonus Pxx,000.00 promo for tech support agents that will last until 26th of march and quarterly bonus of around 9k and a six-month appraisal of a maximum of 3k.Is this really true coz im quite hesitant to accept the offer coz, im not sure about it considering if you would only based it on basic salary it was not that good as to my calculations?
and regarding the training, the guy said that if il go with tech support, the training will only for a month.
c'mon pips, tell me *** u know about it...for to decide if il accept the offer or not.

Hi guys! kindly gve me an advice. I am currently workin in WEST right now, actually okay *** account ko, which is EARTHLINK Saves. My basic is only 13 + 1 but then super okay ang incentives, like most of us get up to 15k, incentives alone. But then, i would like to xfer sana coz makati is so far from me and im a bit exhausted na with the travel time (im from las pinas; takes me 1 hr to get there!) not only that, my shift is like 3AM! imagine? 2am pa lang umaalis nako.. so heres the thing, i also have job offer from eTELE but then its quite maliit *** pay, its 10 + 3 lang; can i compensate on that para medjo lumaki naman and/or **** ko sana doon sa account na parang earthLInk, SAVEs na okay ang incentives kahit maliit basic. i chose eTELE since its alabang lang; im actually thinking of eTELE,HSBC, or convergys? can you gve me an advice kung ano *** pwede mas okay for me?THANKS i hope you could rpely!
