hi guys.. newbie here in PEx.. question: hows aol tech?! has anyone here experienced working for that account? btw, i just wanna know how the SIL process works for other programs, because in our account it depends on how fast your TL sends the SIL requests, only 3 slots a day, and agents can only have max 2 days of SIL for a month..So if you have any plans its better to be absent.. but in our program, in order to validate your absence, (kahit 1 day lang yan), you must have a medcert accredited by maxicare, and it must be legally notarized, or else CITE for suspension will be served. Is this true for other programs also? Please enlighten me. Thanks!

Also, with the amount of agents jumping from one call center to another, mas ok i-hire yung mga may plano mag stay as opposed to those who just take advantage of the training.

hey they will be teaching it to you on foundation skills training. thats right after the 2 days company orientation. it will run for 2 weeks or so. it will cover everything you need to learn about american accent, culture, geography, time zones etc. :)

rocktherep, distinct, this is not entirely accurate. lpet is short for language pre-employment training. it's primary goal is to provide the adequate american accent training for applicants who may still have the need to improve on their communication skills. a little bit of american culture is covered here too.

hi ms.precious, im actually here in etel makati, been with the company for 1 year and 5months for a tech account. in my time kasi, LPET ran for 1 week only. 4 days training, and 1 day assesment. my experience in lpet is purely commskills training, grammar, accent, and the like.

and would you believe that our wave only had 3 days of foundation skills training because the account badly needs people sa ops. they crammed geography, culture, and commskills in 24 working hours.

anyways, thanks for correcting me. Thats how i remember it from my time. The company has already evolved and changed its rules or training policies. Right now, I am just focused on dealing with irate members, hitting metrics that change every quarter, and praying harder that my teamlead's finger is fast enough to get me a SIL slot. hahaha!

but unlike some companies, we have a performance-based incentive. you can get promoted and/or have a salary increase in as early as 3 months depending on your performance. the benefits are good too.

rocktherep, yup, the language training system has changed. it is now a two-week run. it has been that way since late 2006. one week of comm skills training isn't enough, however you put it.

anyhoo, to get to Northgate Alabang, sa Sta. Rosa complex terminal, board a van going to SM Southmall. Idadaan ka niyan sa Filinvest. Baba ka sa may Vivere Suites yata yun ewan, basta hotel yun sa may Filinvest. Then kailangan mo na lang tumawid ng Alabang-Zapote road to get to Northgate. Lakad ka na lang. Nasa dulo ang eTelecare.

you can use what you learn in LPET if you want to pursue other call centers. but they give allowance during training so kahit papano mababawi mo yung magagastos mo. its so nice sa lpet, you learn and you gain friends, and its not boring or dull super classroom type thing. and who knows, you might make it. goodluck!

anlabo nga ng Vonage eh. first, our account transferred about 20 people to them, then after a week nabalitaan namen that natalo sila sa lawsuit and they have no choice but to let go or transfer people, then after a week or 2weeks, they're ramping na naman. haha!

better ask na kung what are the available schedules for the LPET. Most likely weekdays, but sometimes nagkakataon na may weekends. You can find etel makati in PBCom Tower, its just along Ayala avenue mismo. If you know how to commute from Los Baños to Glorietta, then you'll be fine. :)

Frankly, I hate SALES (I'm not good at it), furthermore, I'm NOT willing to be relocated in LIBIS or SHAW (I just find it too inconvenient for me since I'm renting an apartment in Alabang).

2. Their remuneration offer is...should I say not that tempting. They offer 15K base pay, 3K allowance plus sales commissions if applicable. What's worst is that they DO NOT give premiums to those who have call center experience (HSBC, PSP, CONVERGYS do give such offers) which again, I find disappointing (I'm currently employed as a TECH SUPPORT and I'm earning 20K+++ a month so I believe I deserve to demand them with this "premium" thing.) But hold on, because their night differential is quite a pick among the rest because its 30%!!! (compare to the usual 10% night differential other CCs have).

Ilan na ba ang absences mo? While on probation, I think every absence counts as one instance even if it's due to one reason. Kung one week yun, that's five then absent ka na naman nung Monday, that's six - lampas na sa allowable for a probee. Better talk to your TL at baka hindi na CITE ang pipirmahan mo kundi discontinuance na. No matter how good you're performing if you exceed the allowable absences for a proby you'll get the axe. Attendance is part of your performance also you see.

i doubt kung tatawagan ka nila...line na nila yan eh usually naman kase 1 day hiring lang talaga dire-diretso *** process pero kung inofferan ka ng pre employment training usually tumatawag sila.. pero malay mo they'll call you back :)

sa shaw i believe sprint care yung account nila... if QA gusto mo, mahirap ang external hiring for support positions, but not impossible especially if there's an urgent need. Try your luck there and keep us updated... :)

They used to be one of the highest paying centers but now, im hearing stuff like they cant compete anymore with other new, big centers. may balita ngayun (dont know how true kasi wala pang official memo eh) pero leaders are already cascading it. All Paid Leaves (VL,SL etc...) earned will be back to ZERO by Quarter 3 2008. That means the leaves that you earned since you've started working at etel will be KAPOOOT. So as early as now, we are consuming our vacation leaves until quarter 3.. para hindi ma sayang. For me the main reason for this if true is nothing but COST CUTTING. The company doesnt want to give a huge back pay to resigned employees, kasi nga leaves are convertible to cash upon resignation. Malaking problema dito yung mga tenured employees... yung may 50+ leave credits.. paano kaya nila maubos to in less than 6 months time..... hahaha

well i can't actually answer that..kase with what happened with my friend, he reached the final interview and right after that he was told that his application was on 'freeze' and that he can only reapply after six months. he was actually hired by another company and has been working there for two months (making it three months after he first applied in etel) when the hr from etelecare called him for then another initial interview... so medyo may kaguluhan naman yata yung database nila that's if they are indeed keeping a list of those who recently applied and have the application on 'freeze' (as how they told my friend) so i don't suppose they should be calling my friend if his name was on record diba mejo magulo

i dont think so! i was hired nung student pa lang ako. i was 4th yr college then. they're not after with ur degree or educ attainment. di mo naman yun magagamit at kakailanganin sa trabaho. they're particular on how u express urself, handle questions, construct answers and the likes. :)

Hi guys.. i had my interview with etel kanina...super haba pala ng process... initial interview muna, then i took the exam, tapos language interview, resume interview, tapos yung role playing.. i was told that i passed all the steps and that the final interview would have to be a phone interview to be conducted by the account manager of your preferred site. Is this true ba? Yun ba talaga yung final step before you get hired? Kasi they told me naman na i passed all the interviews e.. or is this their subtle way of saying na you're not accepted?

At last I 'am now an official ETEL employee. Indeed it was a very long process. I had three weeks of LPET, on my pre evaluation day I failed and had to undergo another week of training. But on my final eval day I passed. And the next day I had an interview in makati for AOL account. And yesterday I finally signed the Job Offer. Yeah, I know all about that.. Those were my former team mates from here.. They dont want to be transfered to matrix coz wala daw clang alam sa computers, but I think they are just afraid getting out of their comfort zone and facing the "challenge"...

Thats what im doing right now, these is my 2nd time to pass an LOI.. First time last march. At first it was approved but then eventually binawi ng OM namin.. Then last week den I and my TL tried to pass an LOI. But pinakiusapan nya TL ko na magstay pa daw ako for 1 month coz gusto nila ko iassign sa isang pilot program.

Kasi nag-invest sila sa training mo, they expect na you will take calls for them. Hindi naman biro magpa-training ng bagong agents. Kung wala kayong sobrang agents malamang, di ka payagan lumipat.

The training fee is the the same thing as your salary. Meaning, you're already being paid even if you're still on training. Hence, the bond.

I am not really sure about the pay for agents who have no call center experience though.

its not easy to transfer and there's no such thing as request gaya nung sinabi mo sa recruiting rep na gusto mo sa matrix/dell. depende kung anong program ang may kailangan, currently there's a batch of dell agents being trained so malamang give way naman ang recruiting sa ibang program. dami naman may gusto sa matrix/dell kung alam nyo lang, halos lahat ng nasa dell gusto lumipat sa ibang program. :)

sana galingan mo ang assessment mo before your lpet kasi pag nakita nilang kaunting hasa na lang sa accent at andun na ang fluency..di ka na mag lpet...diretso ka na medical..then..ops val and if pumasa yun na JOB OFFER na . mabilis lang ang process talaga.

What is ops val?

Ops Val or Ops Validation I think is like an interview or should I say it is an interview. Somebody from the operations, might be a TL, SM, or even OM will be the interviewer and will ask you questions that will determine whether or not you're fit to join their program or their account. Usually this happens when you're from one program and you're going to be transferring another one. I forgot to ask if this is the case that you're into, but I am not sure if it's the same thing for new hires.

I am not sure how they do it but from what I know, the company does not deduct the bond from the salary. You'll get your full salary as if you're done with the bond and you're already regularized. How they get the bond is the question, as I have never and will never experience it here in eTel since it's going to be my 4th year here. *okay*

My guess is that they'll haunt you till death if you go on awol or resign before you even get to your 6th month in operations. When I say 6th month is operations, your bond is not gonna start until your 1st day in operations.

Anyone can correct me on this though. *okay*

Well, it really depends on your performance before you can be promoted to TL. It's not only scores that we are talking about here but there are other competencies that you need to meet before you move up to that position.

Moreover, you need to be at least CSA 2 or TSR 3 (If I am not mistaken) before you can even be recommended for TOICship. Majority of TOICs are CSA3's and above. Those CSA2s who became a TL came from Sales account if I am not mistaken.

In your case, your first step is to get regularized, but if your performance is ok for the last 3 months of your probationary period, you can get promoted upon regularization.

By the way, I like your enthusiasm! I hope it doesn't fade away.*okay*

You have 2 ways, either baba ka ng Cubao and then sakay ka ng jeep or baba ka ng Rob Galleria. Mas kabisado ko kasi sa Ortigas. Sakay ka ng FX or GLiner, baba ka ng IPI. Tawid ka and then sakay ka ng jeep papuntang Citibank Eastwood. *okay*

You have a month to complete all your pre-employment requirements. If this is your situation, I suggest you talk to an HR personnel to discuss your situation.

Why is it that Call Center Companies are always in a continuous process of recruiting agents? Is it because of a very high rate of terminated employees? Its like that you as a cc agent could be terminated in a short period of time if your performance suckz?

Its the other way around...Its not termination though its also part of it but the main reason for continuous recruiting is attrition...

IMHO Call center industry is the highest in terms of attrtion.
In business perspective, they are already aware of these thats why they'd like to have people to fill in those workstations if they wanna survive the industry.

I was an IT staff in a bank and I know that this was indeed a stable job bcoz I had been there for 3 years. I just hope my decision to leave my previous employer would not backfire on me. When we say re-profile, if you're hired as CSA, you may be reprofiled as a TSR, CSA for CS, CSA for Sales. In eTelecare, we try to make all agents to become Universal. In your case, if initially you were hired for a Telecom account and for some reason they stop hiring for that account, the company will try to look for another account.

In your case, you might end up with another Telecom account, who knows hehe
