With the advent of many technologies in the industry, what would you consider would be the top tech skills that an IT needs?

Last I heard, about a month ago, Visual C, Flash, Cobol, are still in.

Being in the IT field for 4 years now, I can say that Unix/Linux, WinNT/2000 platform for OS, Oracle, SQL, Cisco routers/switches are the IN thing now. Ive been looking for a new job too and these are the requirements for most companies that ive applied to.

Hmn.. MS OLAP, Javascript, ASP, Oracle, MS SQL Server, Sybase

Definitely C++ and Java developers... Many companies offer top pay for people with solid skills in those languages.

Also UNIX administrators, and web developers (JSP/ASP/PHP)

network and security administrators are in-demand...
if you can do system integration that'll be better...
system administration skill are still high on demand specially on linux systems

well cobol programmers they say are still needed abroad harharharhahr :D (i laugh but this is true)

C++, COM and .NET (eventually)
