Exercise advice:

I've been working out in this gym and everyone is pressuring me to move on to the heavier weights. @#$&*%&^#@ Getting a big, bulky body is not my goal. I want a toned body not a Rambo type physique!!!

BUT these "well meaning"gym buddies keep giving me unsolicited advice. T@ng!n@! ang kulit!!! SH!T! Lift heavier weights, do more FRIGGIN REPS!

All I want is to lift weights in peace. What do you think? should I be lifting heavier eweights after just a month of work outs or should I do more reps while mainitaining the weight?
how do I determine if I should move on to the heavier weights? Advise naman on a good program.

I've heeded to stupid advice before and I have a bum knee becuase of that stupidity.

HELP! I dont want no FRIGGIN INJURY!!!!! :flamer: :bigcry:

hi PS.

hindi ko kasi alam kung gaano ka kalaking katawan *** i'm not sure kung paano sabihin.

first time mo lang ba magworkout?

if ever naguumpisa ka pa lang
1st month mo... para masanay lang yung katawan mo sa pagworkout

day 1:
cardio: 20 mins warmup before lifting weights 10 mins cooldown after lifting weights (kung mejo mataba ka damihan mo yung cardio)
do about 2 types of exercise for all muscle groups
have weights heavy enough to make 12 reps
2 to 3 sets each exercise

day 2: cardio only + abs

alternate mo lang yung dalawang days hanggang macondition mo yung katawan mo (around 3-4 wks)

after establishing ur 'base'...bigatan mo na yung weights
pero concentrating on 2-3 muscle groups per session
pero around 3-4 exercises per muscle group tapos 3 sets

for example
day1: chest,back
day2: shoulder,arms
day3: legs
day4: rest (or cardio only)
repeat
(note: lahat ng days ksama abs)

if mejo payat ka: damihan mo ang kain
if mejo mataba: damihan cardio

this is what i do when lifting heavier weights
set 1: start with ur 'base' weight (10-12 reps)
set 2: dagdag bigat enuf for 8-10 reps
set 3: dagdag ulit enuf for 6-8 reps

pag kaya mo pa bigatan mo pa
do this hanggang u reach body size u like
if you are satisfied na with your body size just do the weights with higher repetition na lang

hope this helps kahit konti
better ideas are welcome din

let me guess u want the defined body of bruce lee?
well here's how u du it

to build a more defined body you must:
1. lift lighter weights
2. do more reps 12 to 15
3. do a lot of cardio
4. stretch a lot(it helps to get you that gud looking muscle)
5. do the circuit training(le's see if u figure this one out)

first of all, what is your goal?? if you want to get bigger, then you really have to lift heavy weights. If you just want to tone up and get cut, lift moderately heavy weights, which you can lift for a good 8-12 reps. When you can do 12 reps easily, then you must add more weight. Remembe that getting cut is more of a diet thing than a training thing. Train each bodypart once a week since traiing them more than once may well lead you to overtraining
