I heard the one in RCBC Plaza in Makati is excellent.

The Slimmers in Megamall daw is crowded nowadays since one of the branches in Greenhills burned down.

I go to Polo Club which is very boring and it lacks equipment. I am still looking for a good gym with a cheap price... and interesting people of course :glee:

Polo Club is only accessible if you are a member. Equipment is old though its very spacious even during peak hours.

Slimmers on Pasay Road is alright. Equipment is good, both free weights and machines. Gets pretty crowded though during peak. Good mix of people.

Clark Hatch in Hotel Intercon is very cramped. Equipment is cybex with a few free weights.

Bramante Gym at Renaissance Tower in Pasig is ok. Its cramped especially during peak though they might expand the area.

RCBC gym is the newest one. There was a promo for memberships. Spacious gym but has the most expensive fees and the location is not too good. Its just too out of the way.

just joined a new gym in makati. fitness first, 8th floor, jg summit bldg, ayala ave. it's next to the insular life bldg. they actually havent opened yet, but for those looking for a good deal, join na.

if you're one of the first 500 to enroll, the membership fee of 10K is waived and you just have to pay one time 1200 for admininstration fees plus 1850 for the month. you dont need to pay for a quarterly or semi; you can just pay 1850 per month. this includes aeroclasses, spinning (cycle aerobics), pilates, yoga, sauna, gym, unlimited iced tea and water; and, you can borrow video tapes and vcds.

they hope to open oct 1; if they're not open by oct 8, those who signed up get the month for free.

check it out folks.

I powerlift, and if you do too, or if you don't mind chrome-less gyms and all that occurs to you is serious strength in large amounts, there is ZEST Power Gym in Ermin Garcia, near Cubao. To put it this way, I think 5 out of 7 philippine record holders are there. All the Top Guns - E. Torres, M. Debuque, Yolly Mendigoria, and Lily Pecante are there. If you wanna be strong, you can't afford to miss out on this place. Jesus Christ, 400 bucks a month. Don't whine to that. ;-)

Red Corner in Salcedo Village, near Makati Sports. I haven't seen it though, pero sabi nila ok daw 'to. They offer boxing classes pa nga daw.

knoty-boy
Feb 17, 2002, 05:40 PM
nakita ko na ang red corner, pero more on aero-boxing lang ang ino-offer nila... wala masyadong gym equipment doon... If I remebere it right, isa lang yata ang gym equipment nila...

medyo mahal pa ang offer nila since sa nasa Makati kasiang location eh...

Have you tried YMCA in Binondo? Ok ang gym nila, pero walang sauna... ang bayad mo is 2100 per quarter... de-aircon ang gym, pero sobrang crowded pag peak hours... dont expect a good trainer also... wala paki ang triner nila... first few session ka lang tuturuan then on you own ka na... so far, mababait naman ang mga nag-gi-gym doon... lalo na kung babae ka... hehehe :)

ayun lang po muna... ingat kayo

RLBoy, if your budget is P500 a month or less, don't expect to find a nice gym. That kind of money will ALWAYS and ONLY get you a grimy gym with no aircon and perhaps poor ventilation and of course, rusted weights. Or, at the least, may ventilation but the place would surely smell. Earmark, I suggest, P800 to P1,000 a month or so.

I once went to this nice gym at Arquiza street in Ermita (near the Court of Appeals and UP Manila). It's at the Paragon Condominium or something. I forgot the name of the place. It's nice and doesn't look antiseptic like the usual whitewashed gym. It's airconditioned and has brick walls (aesthetically pleasing), and has a great floor (hindi vinyl tiles lang or semento). I do recall being wowed as the rates were reasonable considering the look and location of the gym. RLBoy, try mo yun! I walked in on the very first day--they had just cut the ribbon and taken down the flowers.

Anybody here who works out at Moro Lorenzo gym at the Ateneo de Manila campus? I want to move there and work out there because I want to work out with fellow college people--not with the semi-educated dudes at my current gym who probably don't have any ideas about bodybuilding other than what they read in the magazines. Can anyone sponsor me by way of referral to Moro Lorenzo, so that I won't have to pay "outsider's" fees?

Lahat naman ng gym at some point nagiging dull eh, unless kapareho mo ang mga tao doon mag-isip at pati interests nyo eh coinciding. In my case, the guys who work out at my gym now are the basketball-loving, brainless dudes who probably didn't go to a decent college or university--they're usually the typical Marikina "anak ng shoe factory owner" who is COD.COM--"care of dadd's business; care of mommy's", and have too much time on their hands. What makes me think more of shifting to Moro Lorenzo is the fact that they also have group classes, just like Gold's Gym in Makati--stretching (Pilates-esque), yoga, etc.

I also took advantage of this one time offer (no, I'm not being paid to do this. LOL), the place is REALLY nice. They give you free headphones too, so that you can jog/bike without getting bored. (I'm sucker for freebies and music) They also have this room called the "Express Room" if my memory serves me right. They built it so that if you're in a hurry you don't have to wait in line for a treadmill, or maybe for those circuit training workouts. There are also alot of free weights, which is always a good thing cause I personally don't like doing the bench press using a machine. Clean place too, well ventilated, and well-lit. I enrolled at the Eastwood City branch of Fitness First last Friday, I didn't even have to pay for the 10k membership. So all in all, I payed only 4,302PHP. So I'm good 'till July 1, 2002. Enroll guys, it's worth it.

With the money you guys spend on a couple of months of gym fees, you could set up a pretty decent home gym.

With the money you guys spend on a couple of months of gym fees, you could set up a pretty decent home gym.

yes, pero here are the cons or bad side of just sticking to a home gym:

1) you do not get to see the real world. Sort of like learning martial arts without sparring. you do not see how other people train and how to assess your workouts.

2) if you don't have space at home (if your house is not big at all and space is a premium), then a home gym IS NOT AN OPTION AT ALL.

3) home gym people statistically are the ones who are more likely to quit. Just imagine how many AbTronics, AbTrainer, Ab Rollers, and home gyms (SoloFlex, NordiFlex, etc.) lie or sit unused at so many homes all around the metropolis right now.

4) limited ang weights na pwedeng gamitin sa home set up unless YOU HAVE A REALLY WIDE FLOOR to accomodate all those racks and weights.

I joined Fitness First and train in Pekiti-Tirsia kali martial arts because I know that in this postindustrial culture of ours, quality cannot be had for peanuts unless you have an insider track on the source. Let's face it, we don't.:)

Tin28,

It's at the Techno Plaza One building at Libis Eastwood Cyberpark City compound. It's across the parking lots from Country Waffles and Blue Onion. It's at the very edge of the Marikina River opposite Santolan, Pasig.

OK dun--may sauna, steam rooms, may massage, may complimentary towels, free backpack, free water bottle, drink all you can iced tea, water, and free coffee and tea, free tai chi, yoga, pilates, and aerobics and cardiofunk/cardioboxing, etc. classes, wonderful Technogym equipment and free weights and machines, and world class dressing and shower rooms that even give free shampoo, conditioner, and liquid soap. Meron pang free earphones to watch the videos while doing cardio!

Ok di ba? Lifetime membership fee is P10,000 and monthly of P2,000 or so. My gf and I enjoy the facilities so much that we just had to bring her entire family.:D Ngayon, we all enjoy the great facilities for a fraction of the price and at a higher quality of service than Slimmers World's lifetime membership.

May 17, 2002, 01:18 AM
Blake, guys,

Gold's Gym is the best option if you live in Makati and can afford the P20,000+ membership lifetime fee (yata; tama ba Blake?). If you live in or near Quezon City like me and Kaiser88 the best bet is the Moro Lorenzo Gym at the Ateneo de Manila campus or Fitness First Health Club at Libis Eastwood. Ang match talaga ng Gold's Gym sa northeastern Metro Manila is Fitness First--but the latter has the advantage in that it's more affordable and the place isn't as full. Yun nga lang, ang advantage ng Gold's Gym is the 12 midnight closing time daily (6 or 7 hours ba, Blake)? Yun nga lang, Kaiser88, if you come from QC and work in Ortigas, mas OK na ang Fitness First!

Join me and Aequitas and others who have found the Fitness First experience really worth it.

For those without budgets and yet want to really work out and get big and ripped, inexpensive gyms (P400 or P500 or so a month) are OK na. Wala nga lang aircon yan for sure, wala ring shower room, o kaya naman napaka-spartan ng conditions. But that's OK--if the gym produces champions, diyan ka na! But if the gym is not known for producing champions or for being the property of a former bodybuilder champion, iwas pusoy ka na lang or at least, DO YOUR OWN STUDYING kasi malamang old school pa ang workout programs na ginagawa diyan (whole body workouts at 3-4 hours a session, 3x/week).

Sabi nga ng born again preacher, "Dun ka kung SAAN KA MAGU-GROW." Literally!

Aequitas, have u checked out the Pekiti Tirsia sites? OK di ba? Train na tayo!

Actually, mura ang Fitness First kasi right now, waived ang P10k na lifetime membership until May 30. All you have to do is pay P4.2k and the next bill is P1.8T after 2months. Compare that to Gold's which costs yata P40k lifetime and Slimmers World which costs P80k lifetime. Ngeee!

it is definitely worth it and the equipment is top tof the line. If you go any time of the day, konti lang ang tao. It only gets packed around 5-8 but you would still be able to get a good workout since there is so much equipment. The rates vary with the plan you get. (parang plan sa cell phone) the higher your cash output, mas mababa ang monthly.

I don't know about Makati, but at Fitness First Libis there's still an ongoing promo. Before May 31, if you sign up, waived na ang P10,000 lifetime membership fee. Just pay P4,300 registration fee and first month fee (kasama na dun). The following end of the month, you will just have to pay P1,700 and so on per month's end (covering the succeeding month). Hurry up Xyzrx!

Chinkybubbles, taebo is NOT martial arts. It's an aerobic workout. Tapos, according to some fitness experts and sports medicine experts, delikado pa ang Taebo kasi most (90%) of its teachers are NOT martial artists and hence don't really know how to kick or punch or strike....kopya lang sa mga teachers nila. And the clip you saw is a freak accident....besides in kali/eskrima/arnis we don't meet force head on; we evade and counter. We don't block and do that weird Muay Thai stuff although we also do body and muscle conditioning and bone tempering (kicking bags, shields, and pads, and also rubber tire work).

Here's a picture of kali/arnis in action in South Carolina. It's Pekiti Tirsia (so you'd know kali/arnis is not PALUAN with sticks):

OT: Brandon! What's up? I'm really interested in the Pekiti Tirsia, it's just that I'm a bit tight now. Sayang. Wait, Joyce Jimenez goes to Fitness First? w00t!

Back to the topic:
Have you guys tried it at Bramante? Anyway, it's pretty nice there. Fitness First is like 3 times better, plus they got all those cool classes. (Pilates, Cardiofunk, Aerobiking, etc.) Choosing the best gym for you is mostly personal preference, they're basically all the same. Some are just a bit better than others, but hey, whatever gets you fit right?

Try Manila Midtown's Gym, i heard it has nice facilities and free stuffs.

Costs around 1000+ but i think they give student rates which is around 600+

Just search "Fitness First" and "Philippines" or just the former in your typical search engines like Google and Yehey.

bTW, would you like to train in traditional combative Filipino martial arts (kali, escrima), JCBOY? Please get in touch with me at 0917 817 0373.

Hurry up Xyzrx!

hi Brandon96

todo advertise ka for Fitness First ha? stock holder ka? uy joke lang. hehehehe. :D

i go to their makati branch on weekdays and sa libis on weekends. the makati gym is bigger (2 floors) and they offer more classes. but it's also more crowded specially during week days (peak hours are from 6-9 AM and about 530 PM until closing i think).

anyway, last i asked, they still have a promo but the membership fee's 85% off na lang. that's one time payment as well as 1 thou for admin fees. you can opt for the home membership...this means you can only use the gym you enrolled at. passport membership means you can use all their gyms....even those abroad (or so they claim). passport's around 2 T a month and home's about 1800 a month.

have you tried cardioboxing or taebo? saya no? kaso ang daming tao...and na-realize ko lang sobrang lampa ko sumuntok. hahaha.

Hehehe, Natalie_Sod, wanna learn a better way to self defense? I invite you to train in traditional yet combative Filipino martial arts (arnis, kali, escrima) with me, particularly Pekiti-Tirsia kali. I suggest you search it sa Internet and read up on it sa maraming websites dedicated to it.

Girl ka ba? Alin ka dun sa madaming magagandang chicks sa gym sa Libis?:D My GF and I work out 3-4 days a week; I don't go for the classes kasi I already have my own Pekiti Tirsia to serve as my own cardio and stuff. Gym lang talaga habol ko pati sauna and steambath. Kung unattached ka, intro kita sa best friend kong chinito na 27 years old na eh NO GF SINCE BIRTH pa rin.

85% off sa lifetime fee? OK yun ah. Napaka-affordable na noon, considering the facilities and the LIFETIME privilege. Whether you live or work in or near Makati, Alabang or Libis/Ortigas, may Fitness First gym near you!;)

I wonder if this is the same fitness first owned and operated by peter harvey. He started a chain of gyms in silver spring. olney, germantown, gaithersburg. In Maryland. there could be more. The name was originally fitness world but was changed due to legal issues. If this is then he has gone global.

Ibarramedia,

No dude, Fitness First PLC is actually a British gym corporation with branches all throughout former British Commonwealth countries and East Asia. In East Asia, it is franchised thru this Hong Kong gym equipment company Sportathlon, Inc., which also operates both the Makati and Libis gyms.

Hehe, and if you refer someone you get a free cellcard, right? ;-)

My GF just signed us up last weekend. They certainly have nice facilities for the price. It was a bit crowded when we were there though (Monday the 15th). They told us they're building an extension next to the Metrobank branch so hopefully crowding won't be a problem.

I'm coming back from a looong layoff, but I've already been training HIT/Superslow for a while now. This is after overtaining and injuring myself with the traditional split-type routines + running. I guess the traditional routines work for some people, but not for me.

I have my own weights set at home and used to do pure negatives 1x a week or less with great gains until my brothers absolutely refused to lift the weights for me.

The FF thing is for quality time (plus motivation and with my GF who's working out for the first time.

Jul 22, 2002, 07:37 AM
Woofers, please clarify. What do you mean by great gains doing negatives 1x a week?

You mean to say you used to be very huge or massive? Or your current physique was a great improvement? Were you formerly a typical payatin guy?

And how long have you been doing HIT? Can you tell us about your experience with training with greater intensity thru slower rep speeds?

Have worked out in a lot of gyms(here and in the usa). My favorites are Spectrum Club in Manhattan Beach, Worlds Gym(NYC..though they have closed this year, Reeboks Sports Clubs (very expensive with four floors of weight training, aerobics, wall climbing, swimming pool and a running track on the roof) and the affordable New York and Washington Sports Clubs)

Here in Manila, work out in a Condominium fitted with the latest Cybex and Startac equipment. Its not very spacious but the equipment is state of the art. Work out in Polo Club but not often as the equipment is the prehistoric.

For Public Gyms, have tried Clark Hatch in Intercon(Very small, ok equipment, pleasant gym trainers), Slimmers World in Pasay Rd(two floors, not bad.) Bramante Gym at Renaissance in Pasig(small gym) and recently RCBC Gym and Fitness First on Ayala.

RCBC Gym would be ok though its too far to walk from the office(its at the end of Ayala) Fitness First is great with the exception of its equipment(Technogym is lousy!) very spacious, has a spinning room with about 15 bikes, a large aerobics room and separate free weights and machine area. The locker rooms are clean and modern looking. They even have an area where they offer free ice tea and dispenser sodas.

What to look for in a gym? Spaciousness if possible especially during rush hours. Free weights and machine area. Locker rooms where you can keep your valuables and shower after. And of course..affordability and accessibility. If you cant work out all the time coz the gyms out of the way. Well, its time to switch to a closer gym.

I mean that comparing my physique and strength during my 5x a week routine vs. 1x a week routine using only negatives (spotter lifts the weight, hands off to me, I lower it), my lean bodymass and max poundages were greater during the 1x a week. Bodyfat, I think, depends more on diet.

You mean to say you used to be very huge or massive? Or your current physique was a great improvement? Were you formerly a typical payatin guy?

No, I was never huge or massive. Not with my lousy genes, poor diet and hectic study/work schedule. Last time we met, I was at 125 lbs. Remember Oliver? I used to be as thin as him. I think he's around 110 lbs or less and an inch taller than me.

I recall I peaked at 138 lbs and relatively lean (medyo kita abs) or so, doing the 1x a week routine, vs 125 lbs (medyo kita abs din) doing 5x a week.

And how long have you been doing HIT? Can you tell us about your experience with training with greater intensity thru slower rep speeds?

I did the traditional split routine through college (4 years). I guess you could say I was doing HIT for 3 years or so, but my workouts during that time were sporadic.

I like superslow because the lower weights required to maintain a slower rep speed (10 sec up, 5 sec down) are safer and my spotters don't complain (as much). The only thing I don't like is that, all other things being equal, the workouts take 50% longer.

about Fitness First,

someone was kinda doubtful a couple of threads back about the passport membership that fitness first offers. my home club is fitness first in eastwood, but i left the philippines to travel. i was able to use my fitness first ID without any questions asked at fitness first in Paris, France and at fitness first in amsterdam, the netherlands. they're both very nice, except that the one in amsterdam uses life fitness equipment instead of technogym which we use in manila. but still nice. fitness first is one club u can trust. they have locations all over europe!

about Gold's Gym,

it's pretty nice, i'm also a member, actually big, but it took waaaaay too long to finish. i wasn't able to use my gold's gym receipt abroad. i'm now in the US, i tried to use the receipt gold's gave me when i paid to try their gym in san francisco and they were asking me for some travel pass which gold's didn't give me or even tell me about. they were asking me to pay $75 for a month!!! that's pretty crappy huh?

i actually miss fitness first eastwood na n all my friends there.

I'm forming a small basics training group in QC under the permission of my teachers, who also do Sari-an and Gracie jujitsu on the side as well as Kali Ilustrisimo, Lameco eskrima and De Campo 1-2-3 Orehinal escrima. no problem pare. just call me sa cellphone ko. btw, to repeat, i'm not a teacher, master, or a guro. i was just allowed to form a training group in the basics that i can share my techniques with so that we can practice together and help each other grow.

btw, people in the South Triangle part of Quezon City can go and work out at the Pinnacle Health Fitness Center near Timog. I dont recall the name of the street; just search it on the Net with the words "Pinnacle Health". It's managed by champion bodybuilder Sonny Orallo.

Pare, ako rin lately lang ako naging serious sa fitness training and martial arts. Medyo late bloomer kasi ako pare eh. I now have realized my real hobbies--stuff I'd like to do until age 90 or until I die (naks!).

Actually I only have 2 to 3 guys practicing kali with me in UP. It's not even a real "group" just some training partners whom I teach basics and with whom I practice stuff. My teachers are senior instructors in Sari-an and taught Alvin Pekiti-Tirsia in exchange for Gracie Jujitsu. So when Royce Gracie came last September they got their blue belts from him and their certificates as well.

Ako rin noon I would make dayo pa a gym in QC (Powerflex) from UP Diliman after classes before law school, since I was fed up with the cheap smelly basement Pro-Gym branch inside UP Campus. Bakit nga ba ganon lahat ng Pro-Gym branches--mabaho na, madumi pa? Hindi kaaya-aya. Tapos obvious pang hindi certified and up to date ang kaalaman ng mga instructors. They would make us do whole body workouts with 3 or 4 sets lasting 3-4 hours a session, 3x/week. Tapos, nagyoyosi pa sila at umiinom. What kinda instructors were they?

Isn't there a national governing body or association for fitness or gym trainors/instructors? Ang dami kasing gym dito sa Pinas na malaki lang ng konti ang katawan, pwede nang maging instructor or coach. Eh ang mga routines na ginagawa nila kopyado lang sa MUSCLE & FITNESS magazine or IRONMAN magazine.

One rule of thumb siguro is to check out their calves: if they have little or no calf development, the guy is probably just another of those magazine weight routine lifters/copiers.

Sa Gold's Gym ba certified lahat ng ACE and ACSM ang mga instructors?

BTW, do not go to a PT graduate (physical therapist) if you want a weight workout. Iba ang orientation nila eh. It's like asking a swordsman to teach you practical shooting.

Ceruleanfungus, if you want to DANCE, then go and join your local Taebo class instead. You will learn as much martial art skill as you will in any Tai Chi class here in Manila. Sa UP Diliman there are a lot of Tai Chi groups that practice on Sunday mornings at the Lagoon area. Makisali ka na lang doon.

But if I were you, be PATRIOTIC and COMBAT EFFECTIVE and PRACTICAL all at the same time. Learn Pekiti-Tirsia kali or Kali Ilustrisimo or Lameco eskrima and add some Yaw-Yan into the mix or perhaps Sari-an.

May tai-chi group pa ba sa Luneta?

I want to learn Kali, whare is your gym? how can i get in touch with you. tnx

Hi, does anyone know of a good gym that opens around 6.30 or 7 a.m. in Ortigas. I live in Paranaque, but my office is in Emerald Ave. Ortigas. Kakalipat ko lang, so di ko talaga alam yung area.

Fitness First sounds nice. Mukang tempted akong mag-enrol. How far is Libis from Ortigas Center? Siyempre 9 am yung pasok ko and I have to be there by that time.....:juggler:

fitness first libis is open by 6 am. your problem would be the traffic from fitness first going back to emerald... you would have to leave the gym by 8am at the latest to get to your office by 9.

maraming gyms sa ortigas area.
bramante meron.
sa robinsons ---they have their own gym dun sa galleria suites...4th floor ata.
there's always slimmers world in megamall---open sila 7am you just have to enter by the side entrance. (ask them kung saan)
there's discovery spa---inside discovery suites. pero medyo mahal dun.

if you are just going for the machines and the weights, check out slimmers world just because of the affordable rates and the convenience of their location.
if you want good equipment, or aero class at that time (630): fitness first ka nalang. they have days na 630am ang first aero class. well maintained lahat ng gamit.

does anyone of you know any gym somewhere in Las Pinas, Paranaque or in Alabang wherein they provide taekwondo, aikido, jujitsu... etc. lessons? or other martial arts?

Welcome to this thread, xtx!

I'm impressed. It's rare for women and girls to be so much into the martial arts. I can gather this much about you since I've seen your other posts on other threads here in HOBBIES AND RECREATION.

To be honest with you, why be so focused on training in north east asian martial arts like taekwondo, aikido and jujitsu when you can train in reality-oriented martial arts, YOUR VERY OWN kali/arnis/escrima, the Filipino martial arts ?

By now, I guess you have read the other threads on kali/arnis/escrima and are aware of the fact that arnis/kali is not just stickfighting. It actually is based on the SWORD or BLADE and has the world's most practical, effective and lethal knife fighting techniques. It also has EMPTY HANDED striking, armlocking, wristlocking, low kicking, and grappling techniques. So much so, that even the US Navy SEALs, Army Special Forces, and US Marine Corps are training in a very combative style of kali (arnis) called Pekiti-Tirsia kali during BALIKATAN and CARAT exercises.

I invite you to check out the following URL's for your info:

www.pekiti-tirsia.com and www.pekiti-tirsia.net
www.cecm.sfu.ca/~loki/Kali and www.rochesterkali.com
www.kalideleon.com and www.TexasKali.org
www.texasmartialarts.com and www.dogbrothers.com

You can go to the Defense Tactics Center at Karachi Street, BF Homes, Paranaque and train with Alvin Aguilar, who teaches Pekiti-Tirsia kali (arnis) as well as Gracie Jujitsu. I don't think he'll offer the Pekiti Tirsia there, though.

You can train with us ONCE A WEEK ONLY on Sundays, 1-5:30pm at the Quezon City area. It's just once a week lang naman eh; a short 40 minute drive via C-5 road from P'que to the Diliman area.

Please text me your PEx nick/handle, your FULL NAME, and LANDLINE CONTACT # if you're interested in standing out and learning Filipino martial arts that are definitely more practical and effective than the northeast asian arts you mentioned. I mean, hey, during WW2, the Japanese army officers who wielded katanas and were trained in jujitsu, aikido and some karate were ALMOST ALWAYS trounced by our old men arnis masters who were part of the then numerous BOLO BATTALIONS of the Visayas!

Talk about GO GO FILIPINO!

Brandon96,

Thank you for your suggestions. I'll check out the Defense Tactics Center that you stated because it's near my school. About training with you once a week... I'm quite occupied lately. But if ever I will find time, or if I will be permitted, why not?

Anyway, I've always been very interested in arnis. But for now, due to schedule conflicts (again!), I think I'll just settle for taekwondo, judo, aikido, and the likes. I'll just inform you if I will enroll, ok?

O, musta ka na, Aequitas? Akala ko ba eh we will get together to practice Filipino combative knife fighting and empty handed techniques (arnis/kali/escrima) in the style called Pekiti-Tirsia kali? Sige ka pare....by February we might go to the Balikatan exercises and wow (as usual) those US Marines and Special Forces who saw traditional Visayan grappling (dumog) and empty handed striking and boxing (wristlocking, armlocking, trapping, hitting, and lowline kicking) techniques called Pangamut/mano-mano.

Ano pare?:D

there's a gym near JP Rizal, which is also a block away from Munisipyo ng Makati. it is a pink condominum, the gym is located at 7th floor. Fully equipped with Free Weights and with some Machines.

Near Guadalupe, near Jolibee... i think in front of FX terminal, there is this small gym... it can easily be noticed.. i think the price is Php500.00 per month.

I've been in this gym...hehe. since I love gym hopping.

Can someone recommend a decent gym around these areas:

south pasig
taguig
ayala center makati
pasay (near edsa-taft)
mall of asia

(I pass by these places going to work)

My budget is not more than P1,500. I am hypertensive so I only need to go to the gym to use a treadmill, at least for the first 6 months (doctor's recommendation). I have not found a safe area near my place to jog, so jogging is not among my options. I also need a gym where I can freshen up after exercise before going to work.

Thanks.

there's a gym near JP Rizal, which is also a block away from Munisipyo ng Makati. it is a pink condominum, the gym is located at 7th floor.

Pump it up.

hi, meron pa rin ba nito? do they offer weight gain programs? alam mo ba yung address?

Hello. May mga konting tanong lang ako. Ano yung Big Three na sinasabi?

Tapos kanina I had this trial for Fitness First sa ELJ Bldg sa ABS-CBN. Mukhang ok naman siya but nakalimutan ko na yung breakdown ng fees.

Any gyms that would fit my, let's say P1000-1500 budget per month?

Currently, I'm based sa EDSA Shaw and malapit naman sa ABS area ang residence ko for now. Any ideas guys?

Thanks in advance.

Kahapon nasa FF ABS ka? baka nagkita tayo kung ganon hehehe.. You should have asked if may gusto magpatransfer na member on FF ABSCBN na like 2k below ang rate. Minsan kasi sinasabihan ako sa reception if may kilala ako. Pero not sure if meron pang ganun now kasi way back weeks na yung latest info ko.

About sa budget, Merong Pinnacle sa Scout Torillo St., near Jade Valley (It's like downgraded FF @900 a month ata). But I'm not yet sure of their current rates, better try to check it out.

Meron din City Lifestyle sa Timog Rotonda, pero the rates are like FF pero hindi naman masyado sulit I think. Meron den Kanto Gym sa Delta (also along Timog).

Like mentioned above, also try visiting Eclipse Gym, and decide kung saan mo gusto maggym. *okay*
