well...in my case...after losing 70 lbs...they say i have turned anorexic...since i control my food consumption too much...But i'll happily pay the price for doing my best to look nice...
Well...i dont advise you people to do it...since it might be dangerous to your healths...
I ate only one meal a day...and in that one meal...the content of rice in my meal is also limited...the only meal that i ate was lunch! I also do some exercise...At that time, i played basketball daily...i also limited my intake of meat at that time...that was before when i weighed about 245 lbs...
Nowadays...my eating habits are back to normal...but i do a regular work out of 50 push-ups, and at least 10 minutes in our rowing machine...and i also skip meals if i ate too much in one particular meal...sometimes i just take-in soup instead of eating the whole meal...
PLease don't make this an example...because there was a time when my body was totally weakened because it had a hard time adjusting to my very limited eating habits...Usually when i have fever, it only lasts for about 2-3days...but when i was dieting...it took weeks for the fever to go away from my system...thank god my body has finally adjusted...but now my eating ways are almost back to normal...

Thanks, the_fly. I hope I can be like you and lose, well, ok, not 70, but 50 pounds. It's depressing though coz yesterday I binged after a week of dieting and gained four pounds! In a day! I didnt think that was even possible, but apparently it is. :(

hmm...i see your problem...the first thing you shoyuld work on is your self control and motivation to slim down...you can go the gym or do some exercise to increase your metabolism...then pair it off with a good diet...then it will be a slow but effective process...just like what i posted first...i dont advice crash dieting...since there are too many risks involved...

the_FLY: 70 pounds? whoa! ang galing mo naman! actually losing weight is easy... the hardest part is keeping it off.
EverAfter: the smartest advice i ever got was to sleep early. i'm the sort of person who pigs out at night kasi, and i'm sure i'm not the only one :D go to sleep around 8 or 9pm, after a light dinner. :)

hi there!!!
ok, here's my story, kasi after na nagvacation ako sa states last summer, I gained 20 pounds, from 105 naging 125 na. :(
Kaya nagsimula akong magworkout (3-2 times a week) and also nagtake ako ng pills. CHITOSAN-C ang ginamit ko (my mom bought it from the states) and after 3 weeks ay medyo nawawala na ang mga fats ko until after a month i'm back to my old self again and whats nice pa is my arms and thighs are more firmer than b4.
Kaya ngayon lagi nilang sinasabi naman na" uy seksi ka na, uy ang payat mo na, mas okei yan":D
Well, thats my story, I stopped na from taking the pills (mga a month na siguro) kasi naubos na but still magpapabili ulit ako. Even if I've stopped di pa rin bumabalik yung weight and wala siayan side effects sa akin.
Hope nakatulong, magworkout ka lang and always drink a lot of water...
:) :) :)

I gained a lot of weight 2 years ago, and only got around to losing the pounds early this year. I never really minded the extra weight until I knew I HAD to start getting back in shape.
What inspired me to lose weight? Vanity. I didn't like how I looked anymore. And though things were going well for me lovelifewise, careerwise and all, I started thinking seriously about my health. Hey, I'm not getting any younger.
So I went to the gym. Faithfully. I still ate whatever I wanted -- only in smaller portions. I ruled out softdrinks. I only went for 1/2 cup of rice. I got into yoga. Now I'm back to a weight that's just right for my height, and I feel good about myself. I'm not as thin as I was before '99 (I was rail-thin then), but I feel so much better about my body image now.
As much as possible, avoid diet pills. You'll gain back the pounds as quickly as you lost them. Consult a doctor before getting into these kinds of pills. I'm a believer that the right diet and exercise is the best way to lose weight and be healthy. I took the slower but surer way and I'm proud of that. :)
Losing weight is difficult, especially when you feel too lazy to go to the gym, or that chocolate cake is right in front of your face. I have a mental picture of myself when I was chubby (which makes me cringe) and that's enough to make me avoid any excess eating. But I'm proud to say I DID it -- with a lot of support from my family and my friends, that mental picture and a lot of determination. :D
EverAfter, I'm sure you can do it, too. :) It just needs a lot of hard work -- but the rewards are plenty, trust me. ;)

well then, drink a lot of coffee na lang. it fills up your tummy and helps you stay up to study :) and i read somewhere that caffeine speeds up your metabolism, don't know if that's true though :hmm:

Thanks very much guys. I hope I can have the same success you had. :) My weight's a rollercoaster though. I can't believe after just two days of bingeing (and I didnt even eat that much!) I gained 7 pounds! Impossible, it seems, but I guess it's the downside of the high-protein diet - when you get off it for even as little as two days, the pounds come back. Aaargh! :(

kasi ako rin, i'm trying to diet kasi hirap maghanap ng clothes to wear lalo pag chubby. my friend told me that you shouldn't eat na after 6pm . sleep ka nalang or move around or just keep yourself busy para di mo maisip yun food db :ahh:
tapos try mo rin mag exercise parama-burn mo yung excess calories. like after you eat your lunch or dinner, try to walk around or stand in one place lang.
tsaka wag mo day icipin, just be patient when trying to lose weit kasi if you keep on thinking about it, baka lalo ka lang ma-depress :bookish:
and sabi rin ng friend ko, it's easier to lose the first few pounds ... kaya don't you worry, before you know it, you would have lost 20-30 pounds already:D

I have a friend who was super heavy before.... around 200 lbs.+ And he was pretty disappointed already because he found it hard to fit into clothes, find a girl, etc... What he did? He went on a skyflakes diet... as in he ate nothing but crackers... Soon after, he kept falling unconscious esp after walking up a flight of stairs, etc. that he had to visit the doctor... But that didn't stop him. He still went on a diet and just ate one cup of rice a day...
He's now around 140-50lbs. And he hasn't gained much since (it happened around two years ago). Actually, I know a lot of people who seem to lose a lot of weight just by limiting their carbo intake....

well, i'm not exactly thin but i lost a lot of weight from high school to college and even from early college to graduation.....my grade school and high school friends can attest to that. I went from a size 16 to a size 8 :p which is not bad, right? though size 8 is still considered "big". how i wish i could be a size 2 or a size 0 but that ain't going to happen in this lifetime.
i think i just became mindful of what i eat and don't eat and since i'm living away from home, i get tamad to cook not like when i was still in manila and there's always food in the kitchen ready to eat. another big point is that i started to get into looking good and fashion as a whole...i started to learn how to dress well and "look better" in the process. hehehe.

my weight used to yo-yo (110lbs-120lbs) before until i just ate what i wanted to eat. it's hard when you track down your weight, keep a record of some sort.. it honestly makes you more paranoid.
i'm not a big sports fan but i used to play tennis (with a trainer, i never learned it) and it toned my body a little bit.
my cousin went down from size 16 to 10 by running. she was in a track team back in high school so she really liked running. her weight shot up when her son died (she got depressed and started eating) and she's doing pretty good now. her life's back on track, she's still struggling with her weight but at least she's almost back to her normal size. i think she also used the non-carbo diet.
whatever you do, remember to have fun. have fun eating and playing.. you'll lose weight before you know it :)

talking from experience:
Before you start to loose weight, you not only have to physically prepared for it, you have to be emotionally and mentally prepared for it. The first 10 pounds could be quite a challenge but it builds momentum from there as long as you fall into the habit. It takes a lot of discipline because it really is adapting a different lifestyle. Loosing weight for me is the easy part, maintaining the weight is the hard part - for me that is. Take it from someone who had lost a total of 100 pounds or more to sum up all her yoyo diets. *Yes FLY naranasan ko rin ang maging payat hehehehehe* I couldn't give you any insights on how to maintain it, but I surely could give you tips on how to loose the weight :teehee:
* No more sodas
* No Fries burgers
* The most ice cream you should consume is a tablespoon-tikim lang
* eat fruits
* one cup of rice A DAY
* oatmeals are very filling
* drink plenty of water
* smaller portions in everything but do it gradually
* take vitamins
* no sweets
* cut down on dairy products
* soups are filling too
exercise
* don't be discouraged if despite of the all the aerobic activity, you can't seem to loose weight . You may not be loosing the pounds but you are definitely loosing inches : muscle build up, it occupies less space than fat diba?
* before you work out, drink a glass or two of water and eat a banana. The sodium in the banana will replenish the the sodium that you loose through sweat and it won't leave you feeling so dehydrated. You know this stuff, being a med stude *wink*
* exercise for an hour EVERYDAY - as in 7 days, aerobic exercise. (3-4 days if you want to maintain the weight)
* be sure to stretch before and after you work out
* build your workout intensity gradually depending on your endurance
* I usually feel hungry after I work out :glee: but I just munch on apples after that until you get used to it.
 NO Hunger strikes dearie. That is not healthy. Believe me, I've been there. I've lost weight but it weakened my immune system. I ended up with pneumonia and my hair fell in clumps. It grew back :glee: though but my hair hasn't been as thick as it used to be
* when you start to work out, and you've adapted the lifestyle, you won't feel as tired or burned out
loose weight FOR YOURSELF and not for others ;)
GOOD LUCK!!
Now having said that, I ought to practice what I preach *sigh* my friend is getting married next year..gotta shed the pounds :D

Thank you very much people for your words of encouragement. I was pretty depressed lately because I gained a lot of weight (7 pounds in 2 days and I didnt even eat that much) but I'm determined to get back on track starting tomorrow. I'll restart my diet, which is a revised Scarsdale diet. I just hope I'll find the inspiration again to go, as my friends say, on a hunger strike :)
I wish I can be a size 8 like you Trinity. I am a size 16 now, well, ok, I dont know really but my Marks and Spencer blouses which are size 18 are kinda maluwag na. Im size 16 in Maxi. It's a long way to go, I need to lose 50 pounds to get to my ideal body weight ( I'm 5'6" and, aaargh, 184 pounds this morning - I swear, last week, I was already 178, I dont know what happened!).
But I hope to succeed. Please continue cheering me on. Thank you very much. :)

Thank you very much everyone. Sobrang namomotivate na talaga ako magdiet. Ayoko na rin kasi ng feeling na depressed ako kasi I fell off the diet, like what happened last week. Last week, I was 178 pounds na, and now, I'm back to 184 pounds. Grabe no? And I didnt eat that much naman, siguro just all the wrong food. Hay naku. But tomorrow, I'm serious na about restarting my revised Scarsdale diet. I hope I will succeed.
Eileen, I agree with you. I'll try not to obsess over it and not think about it too much. And yes, I will try to be patient. :)
Triglyceride, wow, you lost 100 pounds! As in from what weight to what? Grabe, idol kita. :) I wish I can be like you. Thanks for the tips. And yes, no more hunger strike! Di ko naman carry, pag nagugutom na ako, nagpipig out ako so wala rin. R u from PexPlus?

:bop: P!!
What I meant was, if you add up all the pounds that I had lost in the past, it will be about 100 pounds. Hindi naman yung in one sitting lang ano! :D
and like I said, I'm a yoyo girl, meaning, I loose the weight then I gain it back. Therefore, I'm fat again :D
Slim shady?? :glee: Nyack!!! I'm not shady ;)
Well my sister's a people person eh but I don't give her that much credit - baka lumaki LALO ang ulo hehehehe. It's bizzare. I mean, she is now good friends with this guy I've liked since last year. She hangs out with him and everything. They even exchanged numbers. Hello, back then, getting that guy's number is but a dream. Wall flower that I am, maybe she could rub in some of her people-person substance on me. You know what though, now that I have all these info about "crush", nawawala na. I guess the "unattainable" illusion he had for me back then made him more appealing to me- but now. Oh ok...now I know some stuff about him..no biggie anymore. Do you ever get that?
Ay sorry.....should we move this to small talk? Sorry Everafter.
Everafter
I should've written it more clearly. What I meant was, because I've been dieting for so long - on and off for years now, if you add all the weight that I had lost, it'll sum up to about 100 pounds. But for the record, the most weight I've lost in one diet/weight loss lifestyle was more than 50. So you know, I'd loose 30 there, then gain it back. Loose 20 then I gain it back..so if you add all of those, yun :) Yoyo girl ako, meaning, I would loose the weight but I gain them back. Therefore, ako po ngayon ay mataba uli :D Kaya nga, sabi ko, I could offer you tips on how to loose the weight but I can't offer you anything on HOW TO MAINTAIN IT.

it's a low-carb high protein diet. i bought the book for 70 pesos in booksale years ago. my reason for buying it pa nga was wala lang, just to read. i didnt even know about the high protein craze back then.
there's an online version of it. i dont know the exact url but i found it through yahoo search. same content as the book. just type Scarsdale Medical Diet in the search bar. It's healthier than Atkins.

i was a witness to that...i did some exxercising before and also went to the gym...but i only grew fatter as i pigged out after eery workout...so they might have sped up my metabolism...but te just made me crave for food after sweating it out...It's useless to do such things without limiting one's intake of food...

i was really fat when i was young, until hs nga actually. den before ako mag3rd year hs, i kinda lost weight from 140lbs to 115lbs, in a matter of 2 months (summer vacation un) nakalimutan ko na nga lang kung ano gnawa ko. basta, i remember not eating rice and riding my bike a lot, den dancing din *****
eventually, i got fat ulit (pero nde na ganon kataba ano!! Grabe ha!) ... sarap kc ng buhay up :D gmik ng gmik, date pa ng date, lafang ng lafang (**** depressed lumalafang) ... mejo naging desperate ako kaya i tried smoking instead, kaya lang ... alam mo un, its just wasnt my thing. tinigil ko din kc sagabal sa swimming.
anyways, healthy living na ko ngyn (chika!) ... i dont drink that much now and i usually jog (pag may tym) ... and i also swim. i cant get myself out of the water kaya me bago kong prob, nognog na nognog na ko!!!
if theres anything i wud advise u to try:
> eat fruits a lot. un nlang kainin mo for the whole day. ok lang **** walang limit, high fiber content **** un, atsaka antaas ng moisture content nun.
> try taking ELTROXIN kahit 50mg lang to increase ur metabolism
> try the tea BIGUERLAI. its really effective, kaya lang lagi ka tatawagin ni mother nature.
.... ahh! i remember na pala. i used this book by Linda Goodman, (astrologer ***,den *** book about astrology ek-ek) meron dun segment abt weight loss/gain pero it was so weird ... *** principle kc involves colors. ay naku, sobrang weird nya, pero effective talaga. i dont really think it was the diet, kc i cheated din **** by eating burgers from mcdo & jollibee, besides, i also ate chicken (including the skins, lots of `em) and mashed potatoes with lots of gravies and butter. basta, i think it was the book. pm me nlang for more details...

hello rina and michelle !!!
i was reading the posts in this thread. looks like i need some advice too.
i lost some weight during the last three weeks or so because of stress. but i gained it back because i started eating rice again. now, since i'm on vacation, i'll try to stick to oatmeal na lang in the mornings and no dinner after 6pm. it worked for me once, i think it's going to work again.
miss you guys. haven't dropped by the egroup in a while.

Hi Reena!
actually minsan 5'6 ako, minsan 5'7 pero mas madalas na 5'7. ewan, depende siguro sa time of the day na kinukuha yung height.
I'm trying to do a high-protein diet thing kaso madalas di ko siya nasusunod. Saka mabagal ako mag-lose, unlike sila Ate Shawie (naks, feeling close no, hehe!
the_fly: ano, na-compute mo na ba? milya-milya ba layo ko sa ideal body weight ko? 135 pounds ata eh, if im not mistaken. ginamit ko yung formula na natatandaan ko last year na binanggit sa lecture sa endocrine module namin kaso di ko sure kung tama yung formula. saka di ba meron range naman? di ko alam kung ano yung healthy range for someone my height.

Michelle: share ko to, source: Slim Fast Body Mind and Life makeover
5'6" -weight appropriate: 115-150

My heart sank when I read this chart and the appropriate weight for me which is 5'5" : 115-140 ...hay naku:) it made me call my friend the other day and ask him if he could be my work out buddy *since he's been asking me to sign up for the local gym here with him*. Siya naman, gusto mag pa :macho: so we're working on a plan now. Good thing about this place is that it's open for 24 hours.
I also want to loose weight by the spring semester - I'll be in a new campus...new city..new people :naughty: Nice! :socool:

yup, bangkok pills work.. but, that's because you'll get sick. i tried that before, i lost 20 pounds, but i was having heart palpitations and all that sh*t. scary.
and, guess what, after i stopped, i gained all the weight again. so hwag na lang.
but anyway, i lost all the weight again by turning vegetarian, cutting out softdrinks and canned goods and fast food. plus, work out. bonus: i feel better, and even if i overeat at times, i don't put on weight.
ever after: good luck! and anyway, being thin isn't all it's cut out to be.

Hmmm... EverAfter, I suspect you like salt, or salty food... The reason a person can gain 4 pounds in a day isn't so much the food (the body won't be able to absorb that much food and store it in the body as fat that fast), but the water-retention, and that's directly due to your body's sodium content.
Do you like salty things? Patis, for instance? Knorr? Toyo? Bagoong? Do you put salt on your food? If so, I'd advise you to cut as much of it as possible. :) Trust me, it'll be a big help.
Also eliminate carbonated drinks. Not only do they add a whole lot of calories, the process by which they are carbonated causes the drinks to have peculiar chemical properties. One, they prevent you from digesting your food as well as you could. Two, they slow down the fat-burning process by "stealing" some necessary oxygen from your body, which would otherwise be used in the process of converting fat to energy. I'd also eliminate ANY sweetened drink (especially iced tea, which is really sugar and water coloring).
Instead, try to be more creative with the stuff you do eat. :) For instance, come up with different, new recipes for fish. I just ate Salmon teriyaki yesterday (the salmon had been cut into strips, marinated in a low-sodium, low-sugar teriyaki glaze my mom makes, and grilled a la chicken strips...). Very tasty... :)
If you'd like, you can eat all your old favorites (ex. lechon), but with a few modifications. I ate three plates full of lechon this Sunday, but I removed all the fat, and if I did eat skin I scraped off the fat from there too... After I weighed myself the next day, I found I didn't gain even a pound. ;)
How about giving us an idea of what foods you normally eat? What's a normal day's menu for you? :)
Good luck to you, and to everyone else losing weight! :)

Michelle musta diet? Ask me...I'd probably say what diet? :bash:
Bangkok Pills? I've actually considered it but I got a unanimous NO NO NO  from my Lolo Doc, my med tech aunt, my nurse of a lola and my pharmacist mom .....well if that didn't scare the pants off me :D....I heard that the results are great but there are side effects..
aticus
Wow! Hey fish teriyaki sounds sooo good! *katakawan pinapairal :D * And I will also keep that in mind - cut back on salt.
I have a question and I know that I'm going to sound so stupid for asking it... does hot sauce have a high salt-content? I'll just check the label.
Damn I feel so guilty for eating chow mein kanina!!
good luck to all of us and kudos for those who had shed the pounds and were able to keep it that way *okay*

Aticus : Yup, I guess that was due to salt retention. Plus, Ive been into high-protein diet for so long na that I think my body has adjusted to the large protein intake that when I take carbs, I gain so much weight. These days, I eat mostly protein, but di pa rin ako makatiis minsan, kumakain pa rin ako ng mga Iced Gem Biscuits (cheap but great!:)) and Brownies, DingDong, etc.
dia_fly: thanks very much! Yup, I'm not touching any bangkok pills again. I didnt just lose weight, I lost so much more! :(
Triglyceride: hey Reena, how r u? :) I'm actually staying at 178 pounds, three days nang walang weight loss pero ok lang. Yup, I was THAT desperate kaya I tried bangkok pills. Hmmm... EverAfter, you've been on a high protein diet but you're still not losing weight? There's something wrong...
Have you analyzed what you eat, exactly? I mean, there are many foods with hidden carbos... For instance:
1) Sugars can be found in many different places. Do you drink coffee or iced tea? Mocha Frap? That sort of thing. Even fruit juices and shakes in many restaurants is absolutely PACKED with sugar (at least three to five spoonfulls, in fact). Just drink water. :)
2) If that high protein diet is to work, you must eliminate ALL rice, noodles, breads, crackers, etc. Sorry, but all these are carbo-loaded.
3) How many meals do you eat? Eliminate all snacks (and snack food, of course). Just eat your three main meals, and nothing else. No midnight snacks.
It might be better if you gave me an idea of what you ate the last two or three days. :) I can help you analyze your carbo content and tell you if you can still cut back...

Hi Aticus! :) Thanks for the advice, and here are my answers:
1) Guilty. Yes, I think I'm not losing because of the other carbs I am eating. HIndi nga ako nagra-rice but I eat dingdongs, iced gems, kanina nga a piece of chocolate pa. I know, I know, I should eliminate those from my diet, and I will. Lagi ko na lang to sinasabi, but I promise tomorrow, sobrang strict protein and vegetables na lang.
2) I have eliminated rice a long time ago. Bread, I sometimes allow myself to eat a slice of whole wheat a day. I'm not big on bread, crackers, cereals, etc. but I do tend to, like I said in #1, eat brownies, chocolates, etc. Pero tomorrow talaga, I'll change. I wish I'll have the willpower.
3) I eat two high-protein meals a day. Lunch and dinner. Minsan nagbebreakfast ako pero apple or any other fruit. Actually, I'll admit the reason why my weight has been stagnant for so many days na is because I've been stealing little bites of Iced Gems and Dingdong. Pero for the third time, promise, I'll mend my ways na. I realized kasi today na I'm only fooling myself this way, and I'm just prolonging the agony of dieting.
Oh, and I guess a factor rin why I am not losing weight as rapidly as I should is because I dont have that much water na inside my body. Tagal na siya naalis when I started the high protein diet. The first ten pounds or so kasi that people lose in the diet is water. Tinuro sa biochem namin last year. :)
Btw, I weighed 177 pounds this morning. One pound loss over four days. Ok na rin, though if I didnt cheat, I could have lost more :(
Peps : Hi! Thank you for your advice. Starting tomorrow I will definitely eliminate snack and dessert na. No more iced gems, no more dingdongs. I was able to do that two years ago, sana ngayon din.
I hope I can be 130 pounds pero that's a long way to go. 47 pounds to go.

There was an article published in the Lifestyle section of Inquirer. 2bu! to be exact last November 1999 and it was about this guy who lost weight from 220 pounds down to 135. I know him, until now he maintains his weight to 135.
How does he do it? No rice, no cola, no chips. That's it. He still eats anything. He's into the after-six diet. It works daw because logically, it will lessen your food intake. :)
More power!
P.S. You can search it through the internet. "Through thick and overly thin." :)

hello everafter!! pwede pa-join???
i haven't read much about what you guys have been talkin about pero i think i can relate in terms of loosing weight. see, i've been through it. considering my medium height of 5'4 and weigh a humongous 190 lbs, yes super huge ko talaga back then (i tipped the scales at 190 at around February 2001. my heaviest in all 18 years of existence) grabe no? at least ikaw, you're tall so it doesn't seem awful-looking to me. you shoulda see me then. well anyway, now 8 months after, i'm happily at 150 lbs and still loosing s'more. what i did was walking/running on the treadmill thrice a day, and doing lotsa chores, which includes washing two cars every other day, doing my laundry which requires me to walk huge distances from the backyard to hang it up, watering the plants, waxing the floors, and sa hapon i do either tae-bo or aerobic weight-lifting. weight-lifting- pero hanggang 8 pounds lang *** dumb bells. otherwise i'll look like chyna na wrestler, *kidding*. weight-lifting po makes huge difference for it sculpts the muscles, hence di po ba it'll make u burn more calories?
i've read somewhere na in order to be motivated, you should visualize a positive outcome and keep that in mind. you don't have to diet cuz it'll bounce back sooner or later. (yoyo-ing)
and nasa sa iyo din naman whether u wanna change for the better diba? good luck!!!

One of my best friends used to weigh 240 lbs. She tried crash dieting (which didn't work) and Bangkok pills (which made her slo-o-o-w) but nothing worked until she stuck to this long-term regimen of daily exercise and moderate food intake. And it took over a year and lots of patience, but I kid you not, she now weighs only 160 lbs! That's a total of 80 lbs lost! She's always had a pretty face, and now it shows even more. She looks great, and I think she feels even better!

What is the MATTER with you??? You KNOW dingdongs are bad. You KNOW iced gems are bad. You KNOW you're not supposed to keep eating them.... SO WHY THE HECK ARE YOU STILL EATING THEM????
I'm sorry, but I'm starting to get a bit frustrated with your story. You keep telling everyone how much you "wish" you'd be able to lose weight, yet when we tell you how to do it, you refuse to. You keep telling everyone here how you "know" you have poor control, yet you allow your family to keep iced gems and dingdongs in the bloody house. Make no mistake, YOU control your own destiny. YOU determine whether you gain or lose weight. And right now, even after all our encouragement, it's clear YOU don't care enough about yourself to really try. I don't mean one day, dear. I mean at least ONE MONTH or more of discipline and sacrifice. If you do what we tell you to, you'll lose at least 15 pounds, possibly more. But do you really want to lose weight? I'm not so sure anymore... :(
Look, I WANT YOU TO LOSE WEIGHT. But what I want doesn't mean squat if that's not what you want. And I'm sorry, but human beings show what they really want not by what they say but rather by what they do. You just obviously don't want to lose weight. At least, you don't seem to care enough to do so.
So do this FIRST THING... get rid of those damned dingdongs and iced gems! NOW! Get rid of all the ice cream, candies, sweets, and everything else you indulge in which you KNOW you shouldn't be. Either chuck them out the window, or tell your parents never to give them to you, under any circumstances.
Do this first. If you can't, or won't, then I really don't know what else I can tell you.

When I saw this thread it reminded me of myself a year ago. I hope by sharing this personal experience this would inspire everyone who isn't happy with their weight to lose it.
For most of my life I've been overweight to obese. When I was in sophomore high I was brought to this famous weight doctor in MMC to help me reduce. Unfortunatly it didnt have much of an effect and I suffered through the diet (hunger sucks) and medication.
When I hit college this issue started to nag me more. While everyone from my batch was getting prettiest girlfriends college has to offer and a "body" (through working out) I was pigging out at home and unwilling to socialize that much.
This didn't help when I started hanging out with people into malling and eating. Through these individuals I met the person who later in my life would show me the path to my weight lose.
Being a skeptic I didn't want to try this revolutionary diet that goes against everything I was brought up to believe in. But last year's halloween party along Pasong Tamo made me reevaluate my position. So I did research on the so-called
"Atkin's Diet" (http://www.atkinscenter.com/). From the way they explained how you can lose weight I was hooked.
This is how it it works.
Diets high in sugar and refined carbohydrates like bread, pasta, cereal, and other mainly 'low-fat' processed foods increase your body's production of insulin. When insulin is at high levels in the body, the food you eat can get readily converted into body fat, in the form of triglycerides (to top it off, high triglyceride levels in the body are one of the greatest risk factors for heart disease).
Even worse, high carbohydrate meals tend to leave you less satisfied than those that contain adequate fat levels; so you eat more and get hungrier sooner. If you find this hard to believe, think about how much pasta you can eat at lunch and then how hungry you are running to the vending machine for another 'carbo-fix' in the mid-afternoon. If the pasta you ate was really giving your body what it needed, you would stay full until dinner time. So the typical low-protein, low-fat meal leaves you eating more and hungry sooner.
So what should you do? Get off the insulin-generating roller coaster of the low-fat diet and start cutting down on your carbohydrate consumption, especially the worst offenders: sugar, white flour and other refined carbohydrate-based products. What can you expect from this? Three wonderful results:
You'll start to burn fat for energy:
Since carbohydrates are the body's primary energy source, you rarely use your secondary energy source -- your own body fat -- for energy unless you restrict carbohydrate consumption. This offers a lifetime of body fat burning, which is the goal of most people trying to lose weight.
You won't feel hungry in between meals:
The biggest battle that most people have with weight loss is the constant obsession with food (for example, if you've ever thought about dinner when you're eating lunch). Again, much of this is caused by blood sugar fluctuations that are aggravated by carbohydrate consumption (especially the refined kind). By cutting the carbs, you'll maintain a more even blood sugar level throughout the day. No more false hunger pains or mid-afternoon brain drains.
Your overall health will improve and you'll feel better:
Many of the toxins you take into your body are stored in your fat cells. By getting your body to burn stored fat, you allow it to clean itself out. Combined with the benefits of stable blood sugar, the end result is that many common ailments you have been experiencing could well be alleviated. Fatigue, irritability, depression, headaches, and even many forms of joint and muscular pain simply go away. Furthermore, you should see a significant improvement in your blood profile, (including cholesterol and blood pressure levels). All this leads to better health and well-being-- something all of us strive to bring into our lives.

Like what you've read? Here's how you do it.
Four Steps to a Healthy New Lifestyle
the Atkins Nutritional Approach is often confused with its initial phase, called Induction, when carbohydrate intake is most strictly curtailed. In reality, four increasingly liberal dietary plans follow each other in a series of seamless stages that eventually become a new way of eating you can adopt permanently.
1. Induction
This two-week maximum fat-burning program jump-starts your body into the metabolic state known as ketosis, making it consume its own excess body fat faster than you ever thought possible. This phase is very strict in its limitation of carbohydrates. (Because of its rigor, the Induction phase is not suitable for children under the age of 12, pregnant women or people with severe kidney disease.) You eat no more than 20 grams of a day. Most people lose at least 5 to 10 pounds in the first two weeks during Induction. If you have a significant amount of weight to lose, you may safely stay on the Induction phase longer.
The Rules of Induction
You may eat pure protein (meat, fish and shellfish, poultry, eggs) and pure fats (butter, olive oil, mayonnaise).
Eat no more than 20 grams of carbohydrates a day in the form of salad and other vegetables, such as asparagus, broccoli and kale.
Eat absolutely no fruit, bread, grains, starchy vegetables or dairy products other than cheese, cream or butter.
Eat out as often as you wish. Just be alert to hidden carbs in gravies, sauces and dressings.
Eat no food not specifically allowed.
Aspartame may stimulate insulin production; avoid it and foods containing it.
Check the carb content of all foods you are unsure about with a carbohydrate gram counter.
Caffeine stimulates the production of insulin, so avoid regular coffee, tea and cola drinks.
Eat the amount of food that makes you feel satisfied, but not stuffed. If you?re not hungry, eat nothing or have a small protein snack to accompany your supplements.
2. Ongoing Weight Loss
You can liberalize your carbohydrate consumption slightly on Ongoing Weight Loss (OWL), which you will follow for as many weeks or months as it takes you to get close to your goal weight. It?s important to understand that this liberalization on the carb front is not a license to return to your old eating habits. Instead, increase your daily intake of carbohydrates by 5 grams each week, i.e., 25 grams daily the first week, 30 grams daily the next week. By doing this very gradually you won?t fall out of ketosis. This is how you find your Critical Carbohydrate Level for Losing (CCLL). Typical 5-gram increments include 10 Brazil nuts, half an avocado, 1/4 cup of blueberries or 1/2 cup of green beans. You can even add carbs in the form of 4 ounces of dry wine, 6 ounces of light beer or 1 ounce of gin or whiskey daily. Naturally, you will see a gradual decrease in the pace of your weight loss as you add carbohydrates back into your diet. And that?s fine. The purpose of the whole program is not to lose weight fast, but to get it off and keep it off?forever.
3. Pre-Maintenance
When you get close to your ultimate weight goal, understandably you will want to take off those last five or six pounds in a hurry. But it?s important to carve them off over the course of two or three months. That?s because the biggest problem with weight control is not losing but maintaining. You may have gone on a crash diet in the past, only to gain it all back faster than you lost it. What you should do is just the opposite. By losing those final pounds with excruciating slowness, you?ll actually be easing yourself into a permanently changed way of eating.
For the Pre-Maintenance phase, each week simply add another 10 grams of carbs to what you have been eating each day on OWL. Or give yourself a 20-gram carbohydrate treat two or three times a week. You can now even touch some of those formerly forbidden starches such as a baked potato or a slice of pizza. Or add some favorite fruits: apples, bananas, peaches, grapefruit. As long as you don?t start gaining weight and continue to lose at an almost imperceptible rate, you?re doing fine. However, if eating any foods creates food cravings or provokes symptoms that disappeared while you?ve been on the program, stop them immediately.
4. Lifetime Maintenance
Once you arrive at your goal weight, offer yourself some well-deserved congratulations and prepare for a lifetime of slimness. When you have totally stopped your weight loss, your appetite will increase toward its normal level. For this reason, your Lifetime Maintenance program will still be fairly restrictive of carbohydrate foods. You?ll need to find your own Critical Carbohydrate Level for Maintenance (CCLM), meaning the level at which you neither gain nor lose weight. At this level, you will still restrict carbohydrates enough to curb some of your appetite. For most people, this ranges between 40 and 100 grams of carbs a day?still considerably less than the 300 grams the typical American consumes in a single day!

My first 5 days on the diet was the hardest. I kept craving for rice, bread, Coca Cola and ice cream. But after that carbs for me is just another food that I have an option to take or not to take. This is has been lifestyle for a year. I followed everything stated and I didn't exercise. I eat as much as I want when I want. I drink at least 4 liters of water a day.
A year ago I was 230lbs. I was able to remove sixty (60) pounds off me in a year's time. My waist shrank from a size 40 to a 35. My shirts shrank from a XXLarge to a Large. Unfotunatly I've gained 10lbs cause I got depressed when a girl turning me down. I've been binging on carbs like icecream, ice tea, rice, pies and pretzels. :( I'm back on it again and I'm aiming to lose another 30lbs to reach my ideal weight of 150lbs. Mind you I didn't stick with this diet 365 days straight. I had breaks of one week when I eat the foods I miss and still maintain what I've lost.
You should take note on the prereq's. You should consult your doctor before making any major lifestyle changes. I wouldn't suggest this diet to people with health problems (other than the reason you're fat), pregnant or a growing child.

hi everyone, i just would like to share with you guys how I lost my weigh.
When I was in college, I went to a diabetic store in galleria, and the owner of that store introduced me to a pill called formula one. I take one 10am everyday and it really boost my energy throughout the day.... then I watch what I ate, I dont drink sodas except when its diet, I dont eat rice... I only eat, sky flakes and Lucky Me LapasBatchoy.... I lost my cravings and yes I lost weight.. but unfortunately it has side effect,,, My bowel movemnet became irregular as in once a week and sometimes I just tried so hard to let it all out,, you know what I mean. But I lost weight... when I stopped using it, my weight remained the same but my bowel movemnet still the same...
When I gave birth to my son, I gained pounds again and this time its so hard to loose it. The pill is already out of the market and I find myself binging on food. Im afraid of taking another pill for Im worried about the side effect.
Then my husbands officemate introduced me to a juice. This really help me coz now I lost my cravings on food again and I feel full always, the juice is safe to drink, no side effect except that it will make you be more talkative.... hehehehe and this also helped my sister. Now we are on our way to loosing a lot of weight.... yeheyyyyy!!!

my reason for dieting is bad ...evil is the word actually. hindi naman talaga ako isa sa mga obese pero chubby ako and years before, gusto ko talagang pumayat. sinubukan ko kumuha ng inspiration ...yung tipo ng body na gusto ko pero wala rin. and then one time, sa barkada namin, nakainisan naming lahat itong isang so-called friend namin na walang ginawa kundi gamitin kaming lahat para sa mga grades niya. physically, the girl was chubby to the point na yung uniform namin e hapit na hapit sa katawan niya. and so, first, pinupuntirya namin yung sama ng ugali niya and then later on e yung itsura niya. thinking na ang sama-sama ko kasi pintas ako ng pintas sa physique niya e halos posibleng maging ganoon din ako since chubby na ko, i decided to lose weight para lang someday magkaroon ako ng chance na mapintas sya (bad talaga!!!) ...and it worked! ngayon, nasabi ko na yung matagal ko nang gustong sabihin .... :weg:
ang problema ko ngayon??? super luwag na ng mga pants ko ...hayyyy!

hi there!!!
ok, here's my story, kasi after na nagvacation ako sa states last summer, I gained 20 pounds, from 105 naging 125 na. :(
Kaya nagsimula akong magworkout (3-2 times a week) and also nagtake ako ng pills.
:) :) :)
Effective ba yung diet pill na yun! na try ko na diet supplement lang and I lost mga 10 lbs. But I'm still working hard to lose more lbs dahil hindi ko pa na re reach target weight ko.
How old are you na ba? Wala ba yung side effects?
I'll try it plus TAEBO....

yup, sweet_angel79, effective sya, I'm 18 years old and wala naman syang side effects sa akin.
It's also a dietery supplement, naitatake ng 20- 30 mins b4 lunch and dinner... kahit gaano kadami yung kainin mo ok lang kasi kami ng mga friends ko laging liempo and chicken pero naglose pa rin ako ng weight... saka nagworkout din ako nun para naman mafirm yung mga legs and arms ko.
2 months ko na syang di natatake and good thing about this supplement is di nabalik yung fats ko but tomorrow dadating na ang daddy ko so continue ulit ako. Kasi gusto ko pang mabawasan yung weight ko, liit kasi ako 5'3 lang so kelangan ko pang pumayat ng konti...
Kung bibili ka nito, sabayan mo na din nung taebo, promise papayat ka agad... The supplement also has this recipes na dapat mong kainin pero di ko sya ginawa basta inom lang ako bago ako kumain and nagexercise palagi and inom ng madaming water... Patience lang...
Hope magwork din sayo goodluck!!!!!:)

I haven't check pa kung nabibili yung pill na yan over the counter.
But do u feel full kapag iniinom mo yan? Kasi yung diet supplement na ginagamit ko , eh I don't eat basta yun lang laman ng tiyan ko then water, so I lost 10 lbs already. But I'm having I hard time coz I go to work tapos pumapasok pa ako sa school kaya minsan talagang weak na weak na ako. Pero nga yon nag lie low muna ako kasi I'm feeling bad eh. USually I take like 3 caplets a day so its total of 6 kasi you have to take two per meal. Ngayon once a day na lang. I'm not gaining weight hindi rin nag lolose.
Im really working so hard kasi balak ko umuwi ng Pinas next year then alam mo naman image kapag medyo malaki ka sa PInas. Not like dito compare sa ibang tao. Hindi naman ako obese, chubby lang I'm just targeting to lose 15 more lbs.
Thanks!

Yeah i think meron sa Longs nun...
oo nga, sunod-sunod ang holidays, di ko na nga rin mapigil kumain eh, and palamig pa ng palamig dito so lagi kong gustong kumain... and the bad thing pa, almost everyday lagi akong nakain ng chocolates... kaya i really need to start working out uli...but so far (thank god) havent gained a single pounds since i stopped taking the pill.
Goodluck talaga, sana magwork sayo and tell me kung ok yung effects sayo... sabayan mo na din nung taebo para mabilis yung effect and mafirm yung mga flabby areas...
goodluck!!!!!!!!

Yeah! No problem!
But the problem is they make you go bathroom lagi... lalo na kapag kumain ka.... ilalabas mo rin.
Sometimes mahirap kasi you have to control the urge! hahaha!
Tinigil ko yun kasi sabi nung friend ng mommy ko na nurse, masama daw side effects kasi ninipis yung lining ng intestine mo.
Natakot ako kaya ngayon I'm trying so hard to lose weight..

galing naman may thread na ganito. Ako naman ive tried everything just to lose weight. Nakaka pressure nga ngayon because of the stress sa thesis and becoz i dorm i tend to overeat ****, plus the fact na insulin-dependent diabetic ako so mahrap mag lose ng weight lalo. Nag gym na ako, Marie France and all those stuff. Except the pills kse deadly para sa akin. Ako naman i don't watch the pounds i just try to feel kung sumisikip o lumuluwag na clothes ko. ako kse 40 pounds overweight, eh i nid to lose weight for my health para daw di na ako mag inject. Gusto ko sana itry ang yoga and pilates eh. Any ideas kung san malapit sa Malate? May alam ba kayong boutiques na nag sesell ng plus size clothes aside from Maxi and MArks and Spencer?

sweet_angel79 :
nwei, tell me na lang kung ok sayo yung pill ha, my mom bought this pill called maca and i'm thinking of trying it too. i'll tell you if it works...
Bea19 :
ill try to look kung san sa malate may yoga class, bout dun sa plus size na clothes, yung tubby ata meron, pero di ko sure ha... well hope na malose mo yung 40 pounds agad... and i think mas ok sayo yung yoga kasi di ba ur insulin-dependent diabetic kaya dapat medyo ingat... i'll tell u na lang pag nakakita ako sa malate...
good luck and take care...

ang hrap **** mag lose ng weight. May isa akong friend na mas heavy pa sa akin. Eh na broken hearted sya nung July and I saw her last week tlgang super thin. She lost aroung 20 pounds. Ang gnawa nya since we dorm sa Taft, nag aerobics sya sa CCP every 6 am daw tues-sat. Atlst yun libre pa daw atska masaya yung mga makaksama mong tao daw. I'm gonna try it nga sa tues kaya lang i'm not so sure if i can wake up that early. Na inspire nga ako sa kanya eh. Sabi nya determination lang daw ang kailangan! haayyy!!! easier said than done! :(

Lady_Rinoa08,
Well, three days naakong nag ta-take ng pill.
Its like when you take it, nde ka nagugutom.
Natatakot ako kasi baka naman mag ka ulcer ako kasi medyo acidic ako eh. *** tina-try kong kumain ng kahit konti basta malagyan lang laman ng tiyan ko.
As of now, marami na nagsasabi ng naglo-lose ako ng weight
pero hindi ko sinasabi na nag-ta-take ako ng pill.Sana nga mag-work ito, I alkready lost like 3lbs for three days.
Don't worry I'll let you know kung talagang effective sa akin ito!
Thanks

hi sweet_angel79,
hope to get ur reply soon, and hope you'll keep on losing weight, hanggang sexy kana.... pero kain ka pa rin ng healthy foods kasi baka magkasakit ka... take care and goodluck ulit ;)

I'd caution anyone against taking any foreign object into their bodies without at least consulting a doctor first. Find out the active ingredients. See if it's safe. Remember, shabu (metamphetamine hydrochloride) ALSO makes you lose weight, so not everything that makes you lose weight is necessarily ok.
I've lost 43 pounds already just eating healthy food. :)

I've worked in a pharmaceutical company before. And one thing I've learned is that you shouldn't look at the short-term effects of the drug/medicine/pill you are using. Perhaps it might be doing you good for now. But in the next five to ten years, you'll just be surprised with the negative side effects cropping up (esp. with prolonged use). So it's better to consult a doctor, who would be well informed of back-up claims/studies regarding these anti-obesity pills. Also don't easily believe in other people's drastic "fat-to-thin" stories. What works best for others might not work for you! People have different physiological make-up so don't take any substances without professional advice.

Kakatakot naman yun mga post nina Aticos and dudung
Lady Rinoa,
I bought it sa Longs. It costs like around $11. Pero yung dati kong tina-take na dietary supplement cost like $20. Ewan ko.
Mas mahal pa yung dati, but I lost like 10 lbs dun pagkaubos ko.
Yap, I kept on losing the lbs pero natatakot tuloy ako nung nabasa ko yung posted msg nila Aticos and Dudung.
Let me check kung anong mga ingredient nun mga yun.
Ok later na lang!uli

My story isn't quite From Fat to Thin. More like From Fat to Fit. Since I started eating healthier and exercising I've only gone down about 10 lbs BUT I went down two dress sizes. For those who can only relate to the concept of losing weight to being thinner, I'm sure this doesn't make sense to you, and I don't blame you because for years we've been bombarded with messages to lose weight in order to look good, nevermind actually feeling good and having over-all better muscle tone. Nowadays I'm a total convert to the concept of "fat loss" rather than "weight loss". I'd rather lose fat than muscle, that's just me. Those that go on crash or starvation diets think they are losing fat when in fact they are not, most likely they are losing muscle tissue. For example, take two women who are both 5'3" and have the same body frame. Woman A weighs 130 lbs, drinks up to 1.5 litres a day and eats 6 small meals a day consisting of a lot of fresh fruit, vegetables and a good amount of protein and even some fat. She does regular weigth training and gets regular cardiovascular exercise. She is a dress size 6. Her body fat percentage is at around 13%. Woman B is at a lower weight of 125 lbs. She often eats just two packets of instant mami a day and drinks a lot of diet soda and smokes to kill her apetite. She does not exercise because she does not have the energy to do so. She is a dress size 8 even though by now she thought she would be a 6. Her body fat percentage is a whopping 18%. If I had to chose which woman I'd rather be, you bet I'd rather be Woman B.

i'm using Hyrdoxycut. it's a diet supplement but it's milder than Xenadrine..and not to mention, less expensive. i've been taking it for about 3 weeks and i lost 8 lbs. of course i'm on a diet so that helps me shed pounds faster. :)
the effect is you just have to pee every once in a while since your losing lots of liquids so you have to drink lots of water. it also has caffeine and ephedrine and you might have a hard time sleeping so you shouldn't take it within 6 hours before sleeping.

a friend recommended it to me. he works out and he told me that most of them take it because it makes them burn fats faster...they use xenadrine, hydroxycut and this other one which name i forgot. i asked him where i could get one and he said i should order from distributors because it's cheaper. locally, i found hydroxycut at GNC but he's right, it's more expensive. the one i ordered from his trainer costs just 1,400 bucks for 60 pills. that's good na for about three weeks. the one i found at GNC, 160 pills for 3K plus.

When I was younger, weight was never an issue to me. It was only when I came to the States na tumaba ako. My weight gain spun out of control and before I knew it, I was fat. I tried everything from exercising, low-fat diets, Slim-Fast shakes, Nutrisystem and Enforma's fat trapper pills but nothing seemed to work. It was only until I did the Atkins diet that I saw any results. The weight literally melted off. The first 2 months I was on the diet, I lost an average of 0.5 to a pound a day and I never felt deprived.
EverAfter, with willpower kaya mo yan. You just need to change your attitude. If you really want to lose weight, you should control yourself when you get tempted to eat something bad. Ask yourself "Is it really worth eating that?" Kumbaga think of the saying "a moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips." Not worth it, right? Don't allow any junkfood in the house and ask your loved ones for support. Make them not eat junkfood in front of you.
Hindi ba naalis yung cravings mo while low-carbing? With me, I lost all cravings while on Atkins. Before I started the diet, I thought I wasn't going to be able to live without bread, rice and potatoes but I was wrong. I hardly dreamt of eating those foods. Just stick to the diet and eventually you'll get used to not eating too much carbs.
You should also understand that going on a high protein diet requires commitment. That's the price you have to pay if you want to lose weight fast. Dr. Atkins says that this is a lifestyle change, and not a crash diet.
Once you've lost a significant amount of weight, you could have a reward meal once in a while but only 1 meal at a time and do not binge. If you have to cheat, don't let it go on for more than 1/2 day. Go back on the diet right away or exercise it off. Don't forget to take vitamins and drink lots of water. Physical activity doesn't hurt either. Good luck!

Good luck!
i heard a downside rgdg the atkin's diet.na it makes you go to ketosis...then you get all foggy and bad breath and once you inroduced carbs your weight goes back iwth revenge??is this true??have you felt any side efrfects while doing it??im thinkin of tryin it but im not sure.....:(

i don't think i can inspire you by just mentioning the number of pounds that i lost since it is nothing compared to the others who lost as much as 70 pounds...
here's my story...
i have a pear-shaped body which means that most of the fat are stored in my hips, thighs, and the lower part of the body... because of this, i usually have a hard time looking for clothes that can actually hide my body fat...
then, i got tired of scouting for clothes particularly pants because usually the waist line is a-okay but when it comes to the butt part--->the clothes are like tearing apart.
so, that's the time i decided to loose the extra weight off...
before i was 120 lbs at 5 feet....overweight right?
now i weigh 95 lbs and sometimes go as low as 90 lbs...
here's what i recommend:
1.) do not use special diets because soon you will get tired of it and you'll even exceed the previous weight because of the feeling of being deprived of food
2.) the motivation must come from within
3.) have faith and do not loose hope
4.) take a lot of fiber and lessen carbohydrates and and fat intake
5.) as much as possible, refrain from eating meat (all kinds except fish meat) ----> this is the way on how i maintain my body weight
6.) be active; do not be a bum; have a regular exercise routine that will be enjoyable on your part; do variations
7.) stay away from fried foods, pastries, juices, junk foods, chocolates and candies and the likes....a chocolate bar can give as much as 700 calories in one sitting
8.) once in a while reward yourself but not in a sinful manner...take more fruits and vegetables
9.) do not ever get tired...don't starve yourself to death
hope this one helps you...

Those people probably weren't drinking enough water or their bad breath may have been caused by eating too much beef.
I can only think of two side effects I had with Atkins. The first few days, I was lethargic because my body underwent "carbohydrate withdrawal" which is normal. Most people regain back their energy within a week or so. Secondly, the diet has a natural diuretic effect meaning you urinate a lot during the first week.
The side effects vary by person. Buy the book and read it cover to cover before you start anything. However, if you plan on losing the weight then going back to eating a lot of carbohydrates, maybe Atkins isn't for you. You will end up yo-yo dieting. Remember, this isn't a crash diet - it's a lifestyle change. ; )

hi everafter. here's my story.
when i was in sophomore highschool, i was around 5'4 and weighed 150 lbs. so talagang mataba dba? pero i didn't care kasi i thought "eh ano ngyn kung mataba? cute nga eh :grinroll:" super takaw ko talaga nun. i eat baked mac or spaghetti everyday for lunch tapos may dessert pang chocolate and then super daming rice for dinner. i dont work-out din kasi tinatamad ako. then i became "friends" with this guy. hindi ko alam kung bakit pero super bait nya sakin at first. palagi kaming nag-uusap and nag-kukulitan. dahil nga ang bait bait nya sakin, i kinda fell for him. and then one day, he started calling me baboy, taba and all that stuff. grabe i was really hurt. :shedtears: tapos after nun, he calls me baboy or taba almost everyday na. ito *** reason kung bakit super na-motivate ako mag-diet. so nung summer b4 junior h.s., i started working out. jumping rope ako from 7:30-9:00 am. i also stopped eating rice. i lost around 15 lbs, so bale 135 na. when jr. yr started, hirap nanaman akong mag lose ng weight kasi halos wala nang time mag-exercise. pero i managed to maintain my weight naman. so last summer, ganun ulit *** ginawa ko and then i lost 10 lbs. so ngayon, i'm 5'5 and 125 lbs. still kinda chubby pero big improvement naman dba. i'm still trying to lose 10 more lbs. kasi goal ko 115 :) so everafter, motivation and discipline lang talaga. don't worry kayang kaya mo yan. and once people start telling you na pumapayat ka na, lalo kang ma-mo-motivate. :)
as for the guy, i still see him around sometimes pero, tss. loser :belat:

Just wanted to share to you my sisters experience:
She lost 50 plus pounds by just eating smart and increasing her activity.
She ate 1/2 of what she'd normally eat, more vegetables, fruits, and fish (steamed), she only ate rice occasionally and if she did only a small amount.
She drank tea after every heavy meal (lunch and dinner). She also ate early, usually before 7 pm.
Lots of water and drank grapefruit juice to dissolve the fats, no soda.
Had one splurge day were she can eat what she likes but only 1/2 of that.
She became active, walking, cleaning the house, exercising at home while watching some exercise tape.
She lost the weight early last year and she has maintained it. From a size 16 to a size 6.
Hope this inspires you guys because it can be done. She didn't take any drugs either.

Good luck to everyone on a diet!!!!
It really takes will power and cooperation from family and friends. Support them, encourage them to keep on dieting.
A co-worker of mine lost 30 lbs in 6 weeks by cutting fats and sugars from his diet. He hates going to the gym so he rides his bicycle in the morning and at night. Eats lots of fruits and vegetables and drinks only water.
As I said it can be done.

slurpee, kasi matakaw ako. Actually, ewan ko ba. Basta slowly nag-pile up. Pero okay lang. Although I still want to lose weight, nowadays I think life is too short to obsess on that. There's more to life than weighing scale. :)
Before I thought, hey Michelle, lose weight and everything else will follow. Pero now, tipong, okay, I know I need to lose weight, but if I don't, I'm still the same smart Michelle. Anyway, ultimately, you can't weigh anything about yourself that really matters. Your vision, passion, intelligence, and kindness will not register on a bathroom scale.
Pero for health reasons, diet ulit. :)

Chel .... so what happened? PM me when you can . Hope everything's ok :)
...oh yeah and to date, I haven't been checking the scales but some of my pants feel just a tad bigger, I've lost a little weight over the summer but I think I've gained back..I don't know.
my co-worker told me something that really freaked me out, she told me about her friend who had kidney problems and went on dialysis during his mid twenties and has been on dialysis for 20 years. It freaked me out because I would hate it if something health-related would prevent me from enjoying life you know...I mean, it has always concerned me but when I heard that , I felt fear.
....I love food, I'm making no excuses for it :D A couple of weeks ago, I was enjoying this burrito with beef and salsa ...spanish rice, sour cream and cheese, when I happen to look up and saw this girl at the other table looking at me as she was munching celery sticks, I smiled at her and continued eating and thought, not today, I'd be a fool to trade this thing for celery sticks :D
..ha, I found another incentive, and no, weddings doesn't seem to have that effect on me. My incentive this time would be Yosemite Park - I am thinking of hiking there this spring with my friends, it's still up in the air but that place is beautiful and is only a few hours from here - I would love to go. For now, I want to work on being in shape, the weight loss can come later, I want to just feel great for now and not get tired right away and have energy, that's what I want to work on for now.

hi, i'm a girl, 5"2 and abt 200-205 lbs. i don't exercise at all, but i don't lie around all day either, i go to school 3 times a week, and on my days off i'm usually in the malls walking around, etc so i don't exactly have a sedentary lifestyle...
anyway, can i lose weight even if i don't exercise? - i cant exercise becuase i have a mild case of scoliosis and when i o physically strenuous stuff, it hurts. plus, i don't eat veggies...so i guess my question is, is there still hope for me??? :(
i'm willing to cut down on food intake but i realllly don't like veggies and it seems all the diet plans out there involve eating veggies. i know it's weird, but i've never eaten veggies, ever. and at 23, i think im too old to start trying. and im not that knowlegeable about what foods contain....if this contains too much fat or this contains no fat, etc...
what can u advise me to do? im a heavy rice eater...if i don't eat rice at all, or say, eat strictly just a cup a day, would that work?
help!

Scoliosis isn't an excuse NOT to exercise. There are lots of people who have it who do exercises of some sort. And you say yours mild. I don't see why that should stop you. There are lots of programs that can work around what you have.
You don't sound like you have much discipline. Disiplinahin mo muna sarili mo before you start going into some weight loss program. Otherwise, it will fail. Sayang lang panahon mo.
The cutting down on rice bit could work as long as you don't replace it with some other form of carb. Even sky flakes can make you fat if consumed in extreme quantities.
Eat veggies, not to lose weight, but because it's healthy.
And, walking around the malls do not an exercise program make. You ARE sedentary, honey.

i wasn't what anybody would call fat but i sure was overweight for my height. i tried a diet that a gym made for me and i lasted around 2 weeks on it but man was i floating. i sure lost weight but at the expense of not being able to think straight and feeling dizzy. my diet comprised of 1 1/2 cups of rice, 3 matchboxes (as they call it in the gym, compare it to the toy cars) of meat, some fruit and no sweets for the day. after that i just didn't care about what i ate anymore :)
june last year i had a minor operation to take out a what doctors call lipoma near my right arm pit. it wasn't and had no opportunity of becoming harmful in the future but i just wanted it taken out to give me piece of mind. the doctor said that it was a blob of fat or something of that sort! and that it happens to quite a number of people, i guess that was the turning point. not only did i lose a lot of weight after that but i was also mindful of what i stuff myself with. i figured where else could that have come from but from the food that i have taken. or it might be hindering some sort of metabolic action or something.
i didn't follow any diet but i cut down on eating red meat. i started eating chicken minus the skin and fish more often. i kept eating veggies especially leafy ones with light dressings of olive oil especially. if i do eat fried foods i'd be sure to tissue off the excess oil. i eat any kind of sweets whenever i want but in moderation. i chug water all the time. I stopped ordering ordering bottomless ice teas at restos which might be just sugar and water. i eat yogurt which is good for digestion, lots of fruits and milk. i lost almost 20 pounds in almost 5 months with very little effort because of being mindful of food to take. i'm now at my ideal weight and have stayed there for more than a year already. i guess our body's also recognize a point wherein it just stays that way as long as we don't change our intake drastically.
i've tried all sorts of diets but this not-a-diet habit has really been good for me. it's different for everybody, that's why it's good to take a few tips from here and there and choose what works the best for you. i know this holds true for many things other than eating, everything should be in moderation :)

i dont think walking around the mall is enough for you to lose weight. tapos sbi mo you're a heavy rice-eater pa. why dont you try walking around your village for about an hour every morning. pag feeling mo medyo talagang hingal ka na, slow down. tapos try cutting down your rice intake na din. for example if you eat 1 cup of rice every meal, gawin mong half cup na lang. :) the simple secret to succesful weight loss? burn more calories than you eat. :)

sige share na rin ako...
I've been struggling with my weight since elementary. I'm 18 now and I'm about 125-130 lbs. I don't know if I'm just lucky pero my weight today is the same as my weight when I was 10 yrs. old. I was 4'10 back then. I'm now 5'4.
Last sem, I weighed 120 lbs. I gained a lot during the sembreak. Excuse ko, matutunaw lahat ito pag-pasok ko. Lame noh?
Now, I'm trying to lose at least 10 pounds. Target ko talaga ay 115.
Ang biggest temptation talaga sa akin ay chocolates. Isang tambak dito... nakaka-asar. Ang pamily parang hindi supportive sa diet ko... to think na borderline ang bloodsugar nila lahat! Hindi ba dapat we should all cut down on chocolates

hello guys! just thought i'd browse through this cuz i'm also trying to lose weight. i was 110 or 115 before college then when i was a freshie i gained 10 lbs, custom ata yun mag gain ng weight upon college...it's called "freshman 10", but that's no excuse...lol. I was biggest when i was in 2nd yr college @ 145 lbs, also the year when we first started getting cooking subjects, hotel and restaurant major me eh...hehehe, strict and teacher ko when it comes to leftovers and i would eat them all, tapos my classmates would give me more pa...excuse ko marami nagugutom sa somalia or somewhere...so i ate.
then come 3rd year i went to 120 and kept it off for a year cuz that year was really draining for us then. we were having major subjects then, food related din but the functions and the teacher really gave us a hard time, emotionally and physically then. u know how terror teachers can be. fourth year i went 130-135 lbs, it was because we were not so active anymore kahit may functions pa rin kami, tsaka alaga kami ng teacher ko then, not exactly pampered, but there was more food than in 3rd year...:)
2 months ago i went 145 lbs...que horror of my life and my mom was really concerned...and so we both consulted a professional who measured my waists, hips arms, etc. then she weighed me and i was like..whoa, ganito na pala ako...i was embarrassed, medyo nakakadepress, cuz i had always been cheerful about my appearance, never would i bother myself over looking bad.
ayun, all of a sudden my anxiety over finding the right clothes have gone worse, all of a sudden i find everything i try on terrible on me (and great on everyone else).
but now that i'm 23 and @ 135 lbs (i went on a diet, exercise and drank some pills), everybody thinks that i ought to become more vain about my appearance, and so do i. how would i become more than i want to be if i continue to be a plain (and fat) jane? i have a friend from hs who is a commercial model, and she says i ought to maximize what i have. i know she is right, cause most people think i'm pretty, but roundish, and i know that i have yet to fullfill my highest potential, and this is up to me.
also, its a jungle out there for singletons like me. pagandahan na ata in order to get a guy that you would like to have for yourself. kahit nga di masyado ok they would still look for the good looking girl...not easy for a plain jane like me.
there are plenty of reasons why i should be losing weight. there's health, vanity, feeling emotionally better and maximizing one's potential. i definitely can LOOK BETTER...
it's not easy, but i'm doing my best. my real enemy is not eating in proper proportion and just not being able to follow through routine.
that's it...ang haba ng post ko...:D

hi dyzfunk,
i lost 30 pounds over a couple of months by not taking in any carbo.
i used to love carbo and really had to take it because i used to do heavy and regular work-out plus i play squash. when i stopped working out, i decreased my carbo intake until i didnt touch rice at all.
im not telling everyone to do this. what i always say when people ask me how i lost weight is, try and experiment different weight loss solutions and do whatever works for you.
this is how it is for me.
i do not touch anything carbo - rice, pasta, bread, potatoes, corn. I stuff myself with meat (good thing, im a meat lover!), chicken, fish, veggies (i like veggies too) and fruits and just about anything BUT carbo. in other words, i could fill my plate with all the "ulams" - your mechado, sinigang, steak, what have you - but not rice, potatoes or the other carbs.
i have a sweet tooth and can devour gallons of ice cream and slices of cake. i cannot do away with sweets. im the type who cannot end a meal without having a dessert.
it worked for me. but im not guaranteeing that it will work for you too. it all depends on your body and how it reacts to your intake. because i know my eating style wouldnt work for some, they have to totally take out meat and/or sweets in their diet.
WARNING:
lack of carbo in your diet weakens your nerves, thus, bring about nerve damage. i had to take vitamin b complex everyday as advised by my doctor.
very rarely do i get the craving for rice or starch, and if i do get one, id give my self a spoon or two, then i couldnt take any more than that. i get full right away and it just feels soo heavy in my tummy. i guess my tummy now is not used to carbs.
wanting to lose weight is good and is a sign that you care for your body. but always remember, not to punish or torture yourself by depriving yourself of food you love. when you crave, give in. when you get what you want, you'll stop, its really just satisfying that craving. just don't starve yourself! life's too short!

I still am stuck where I was. But you know what, last night I realized what's the culprit.
It's that I believe people whenever they tell me it's okay, I'm tall anyway, and I can carry myself even if I am big.
Na di baleng mataba, cute naman
Na di naman ako masyadong mataba. Liars.
Hmp. I won't listen to the people around me anymore.

When I was a kid, I was painstakingly thin. Then when I was 14, I got fatter. Weight ko parang see-saw eh taba, payat, taba, payat - bagal kasi metabolism ko. Ngayon, I try to avoid pork, chicken, or beef when I can. Liit lang kasi ako eh kaya kailangan proportion to my height weight ko.

i am an obese person. clinically, speaking i am morbidly obese. i have beenbig all my life. i tried different diet but not taking any pills. two years ago i was able to lose 30 lbs. and that was a great achievement for me. but i gained them all back plus extra baggage.
now i am determined to lose weight not for vanity but i want to be healthy and fit. i do not want to try any diet pills. going to gym is not practical for a working personlike me since they are costly. hehehe.. kuripot kasi ako eh...
so i decided to look back and refresh my ind what did i do when i lost 30 lbs. and i came to my senses. i ate less, drank more water, sleep and wake up early, taebo every morning, walking every afternoon.
it was really a sacrifice then. but i will still try to do it today.
i want to be healthy and fit.

Going to the states really makes you fat...ang unhealthy kasi ng food nila dun. It's all artificial and has a lot of additives and extra grams of fat...I lost the weight i gained in the states during the holidays by dieting and watching my intake. Write down everything you put in your mouth whether diet soda or water in a food diary and weigh yourself every weekend at the same time and day.
I don't eat rice anymore (a lot of people don't eat white rice anymore) and it helps a lot with cutting down carb intake. Limit starches to vegetables, whole-grain wheat bread/grains, cereals, brown rice (it has bran and takes longer to digest plus has more nutrients than white). Going vegetarian also does wonders for weight. But you ought to limit fat grams per serving to 2 grams of fat (0 or 1 is ideal) for all foods. Exceptions might be salmon (3-5 grams good fat) or fish. That means no lechon, no greasy Filipino food (like pancit). Good foods include steamed fish, veggies, fruits (not mangos and limit bananas unless you work out too much carbs). Avoid polvoron and filipino baked sweets from the province because they contain unholy amounts of butter and lard. 2 or 3 could pack tablespoonfuls (ugh) Merengue is safe if it's the egg-sugar kind...
Imagine that a lot of junk food in the US averages 12 grams of fat a serving. That's nearly half your allowance of fat for a day.

I desperately need to lose at least 10 lbs. I can't take this. I can feel na madali na akong mapagod. You see, I gained a few pounds this summer and I'm at my highest weight ever at 132 lbs.
I'm 5'4 and I think the ideal weight for my height is around 118(?).
Help naman diyan... I'm pretty active naman. I mean considering I have to walk from building to building sa UP (brisk walk ito minsan jog pa para lang hindi ma-late. ) Pero feeling ko parang walang na-aachieve.
I saw this thing called Hydroxycut sa GNC ata. Is it safe? Gusto ko sana na i-maximize ang weightloss pero not to the extent na mag-s-suffer ang total health ko.

I used XENADRINE and you can only take it for 3 months and after that kailangan magpahinga ka for 1 ro 3 month ( that's what my trainor said) okay din ang HYDROXICUT pero you have to take it na may kasamang GYM or any exercise.
Good luck.

I used to weigh 220 pounds but trimmed down to 150 in a matter of 4 months, medyo crush diet nga lang ginawa ko. But I still weigh 150 after a year of losing the weight. What I did was nagpapayat muna ako through supplements, exercise and diet. Then when I reached my desired body weight, I ate sensibly but maintained by gym activities. Now, I am taking Hydroxycut and still works out in the gym to develop muscles.
My secret? I was inspired during the time na nag diet ako. Lagi na lang kasi ako tinutukso kahit sa dyip kulang na lang sabihan ako ng driver na mataba ako. Ngayon I feel better about myself and it made me boost up my self esteem.

Given that I can only give only about 2 hours of cadio exercise a week,
I have two choices: Xenadrine or Hydroxycut.
What are the Pros and Cons of each?
Do I need need a prescription to avail Xenadrine or Hydroxycut?

i think bananas have high calorie content compared to other fruits.. 1 banana has 90 calories.. while some fruits like a slice of melon/apple, etc has only 20-50 cal.. if i remember it right, to burn the 90 cals, you have to do the treadmill for 30mins to 1 hour..(im not really sure about the figures but im sure about the 90 cals..hehe)
im not fat, but i tried to diet to lose inches.. tried to diet during the summer vacation and ive lost 2 inches in my waist (we dont have a weighing scale though, i dont know how much pounds i lost.. hehe :) ) just cut down on your rice, dont eat junk foods and other snack foods (ex. eggnog, dewberry, biscuits, chocolates, doughnuts..my favorites..hehe :D ) because they contain too much calories (about 200+), and dont eat too much during dinner time..
i didnt deprive myself of beef, chicken, pork etc.. i just limited my rice intake (about 75% lesser than what i used to eat) and if i really crave for those snack foods i just eat small portions of those..

Still fighting my way out of obesity (well, okay, pre-obesity, if I may coin the term, because my BMI isn't in the obese range yet). It's hard now because I'm usually on duty, and it's really a pain to find healthy food there in the hospital. Ironic no? And I don't get to sleep that much, which is why I find it hard to discipline myself when it comes to food. Parang hassle naman mag-diet pag pagod na pagod at puyat na puyat ka na.
But I am hopeful. Promise, papayat din ako. :D

Maintaining good health is more than just avoiding "bad foods." It's a conscious effort to select the foods and nutrients that will yield vitality and an overall sense of well-being.
Everyday, science reveals new wonders about the potent life-enhancing properties of herbs, vitamins, minerals and other plant nutrients. In fact, 95% of the world's medicines are derived from plant sources. The problem lies in choosing the array of nutrients your body truly needs.
Relėv takes the guesswork out of good nutrition with our complete, balanced formulas. Our experts have done the research, combed the globe for the best ingredients, and provided them all in the proper amounts in our easy-to-use, great tasting drink mixes. Good nutrition is now as simple as making a delicious Relėv shake part of your daily routine!Begin With the Basics
The average diet lacks crucial nutrients our bodies need for optimum performance. Without these elements, we leave ourselves vulnerable to disease and fatigue. More alarming yet is the fact that, even if we ate the recommended balanced diet, we would still be unable to consume the necessary quantity and quality of many key nutrients. That's why medical experts the world over endorse the importance of supplementation for everyone.
Relėv lays the foundation for optimal health with our essential daily nutritional supplement. Relėv Now provides the broad spectrum of vitamins, minerals, herbs, proteins, amino acids, and antioxidants everybody needs to function at their peak. Each ingredient is continually monitored for purity and quality to guarantee you receive the micronutrients you need. And every formulation is specifically designed to optimize and enhance the benefits of each nutrient.
Target Your Special Needs
Balanced essential nutrition provides a solid foundation for good health. Yet, age, gender and lifestyle can put added stresses on the body. To solve these special needs, Relėv developed a unique line of Functional Formulas that work hand-in-hand with our Essential Nutrition to provide total nutritional support.
Whether you're interested in athletic performance, weight loss, or disease prevention, Relėv has a Functional Formula just right for you.
The Power of Powder
You may wonder why Relėv products come in powdered rather than pill form. The answer is simple bioavailability. When Relėv formulas are mixed with water, they are ready to be absorbed by the body. As soon as you drink a flavorful Relėv shake, it goes to work, fortifying your system with the nutrients it needs to repair, restore and enhance functioning at the cellular level. Pills take time to dissolve, reducing the potential for nutrient absorption. Besides, our shakes taste great!
Get Nutrient Smart

With experts pointing to supplementation as the answer, more than half the population already uses nutritional supplements. But are we using them correctly? I am in the same situation as EverAfter, un nga lang carry nya kasi she's 5'7".
I am 5'1" and 150 lbs...ang taba ko ano....ang hirap maghanap ng damit sa mga tiangge saka sa sale, pupunta pa ko sa surplus for my pants...
Triangle kasi *** size daw ng body ko eh, maliit yung itaas, (though I am 'gifted'), tapos below waist, ang laki na..imagine may skirts are size 11. *** buttocks ko kasi 40 ata ang size, kainis.
Pero pumayat ako dati. My brother and I had a fight and sa galit niya pinukpok niya ako ng walis sa ulo (brutal!!!) tapos ayun, 2 weeks akong nilagnat, tapos hindi ako makakain, tapos i lose mga 20-25 pounds. Then after nung okey na ako, ayun balik ulit sa dati, I easily gain weight. From 120 naging 140 na ako. Then 150 na nga ngayon. Grabe.
My cousin had trim down 20 pounds in 3 months just with Lucky Me Pancit Canton and Iced Tea, no rice for 3 months!!! WHoa!!! HIndi ko iyon kaya, manghihina ako.
I love eating. Sweets, porks, beefs, chicken, esp. RICE, 2 1/2 cups in a meal makes me this 'big'.
Part of the reason why my boyfriend left me is that 'ala daw ako disiplina sa sarili...' kaya hindi ako pumapayat. Whatever :D
Sa ngayon, I am in a long-term DIET plan, kasi my classmates and profs often mistaken me for someone else, na Diyos ko!!! she's my friend naman pero insulto sa akin kapag napagkakamalan na iisa kami.
Anyways...gud luck sa 'ating' mga Diet plans...at kapag na-attain natin ang ating mga ideal weights...
sa atin pa din ang huling halakhak :bounce2:
Ciao!!!

basta ang plano ko ngayon, cut down on carbs. no sweets. and green tea after every meal. effective daw talaga yung green tea na pampapayat plus it's also an anti-oxidant.

Yeah effective daw ang green tea. Sabi ng prof ko maraming fiber ito (kaya siguro pag *ahem* nagbawa kayo, parang linis ang bituka mo pero hindi parang diarrhea ang dating). It's also a diuretic, para mabawasan ng onti ang bloat... i think it's due to the caffeine din.
I drink tea rin pero mga 2 lbs pa lang nababawas sa akin. Pero eto, proven... pumayat talaga ako noon... grapefruit juice. After 6 diet din pumayat ako. High school pa ako nun
Ngayon, hirap na akong ibalik yun kasi weird ang sked ko sa school dahil college na ako. Haay...
Any other tips jan? Parang natakot ako bigla mag-hydroxycut o Xenadrine. Parang ang bata ko pa for that. I'm only 19. Feeling ko kasi malusog pa katawan ko... kaya pa yan ng exercise at diet.

bought BP from another Forum site rin. been taking it for about 2weeks and lost 10lbs and still counting.
Actually i'm very hesitant at first in taking it since I heard a lot of adverse reaction.but the seller told me that it's a different formulation of BP without ephedrine ba yun? na nakaka-high
Good for me I didnt experienced any negative side effects at all.
Now I'm down to 110lbs, my target weight is 100. hopefully i'll be able to achieve that.
When I reach my desired weight na,I'll go to the gym to firm up.
I dont want naman to be flabby.

You guys can try this Apple Cider Vinegar tablets being sold at GNC. It has Garcinia Cambogia that helps suppress appetite and cravings. It's around 500-600 only. :)

speaking of apple cider vinegar, effective ba yun talaga? kasi i bought a bottle of it.. in liquid form not the tablet from a supermarket. but until now di ko pa nababawasan kasi i do not knowhow to take it. at nung inamoy ko siya, eewww... di ko ma-take. pero i read from somewhere that it does miracle.. di ko lang alam how...
my mind is determined to lose weight and be healthy but my flesh is too weak to resist food... where can i buy discipline?

Artemis: i don't think apple cider vinegar is effective. i read somewhere that it has no effect whatsoever. mas effective pa yung green tea. scientifically proven na.

AbsoluteAnarchy : I've tried chromium picolinate tablets, but it didn't work for me. Plus, I read somewhere (after taking the friggin' pills) that a certain amount of chromium in the body is harmful.
I've also tried those Reliv Ultrim Plus shakes. Can't say my appetite was suppressed though. :D

I've taken BP that didn't have any adverse side effects (no palpitations like you get from american pills). However in the states I'm having a really hard time maintaining my weight..in the Philippines ang dali sobra, mainly because a) we have ideal food portion sizes in our restaurants b) there are a lot of healthy options now in the philippines..nagiging conscious na ang mga tao c) it's easy to live a healthy lifestyle in a country that has foods without high amounts of chemicals and pollutants in them. One question: to any travellers - how do you guys maintain your weight/figure in the States? Kung di lang bawal BP dun I'd bring it just as a safeguard... I'm not a greedy person but US food sucks...makes you gain weight talaga.

Yeah I actually read that somewhere to before taking it. I think psychological lang that's why I lost weight. I didn't feel the craving to eat sweets or fattening foods. Of course, I wasn't satisfied pa rin with the results so I took BP. And that was it, I lost the weight I needed. I know they say it's bawal, but I didn't feel any side effects at all. I lost around 12 more pounds in two weeks. It's been one month now since I last took it and still not a pound gained. ;) Still I want to lose around 10 more pounds.

Hi! We have the same problem. Huge thighs and legs + hips! Grrrr..... Kainis!
But what I do to slim down this partcular parts is RUNNING. I used to run 1 round (app. 10 minutes) from an oval then walk to complete at least an hour. Then after 1 month, I now run 1 hour straight. And it really helps me to slim down. Not just that particular parts but the whole body as well. Then after I run, I do squats and lunges to firm my thighs, legs and hips.
Amazingly, it really helps! Maluluwag na yung mga pants ko!!!!:*)
MOTIVATION and FOCUS is the KEY!!!!:)

Regarding pagpapaliit ng thighs, there's no such thing as spot-training.. meaning hindi porke't nag leg exercises ka yung legs mo ang liliit..
Read the ff article:
Spot Reducing: Does it Really Work?
by Donna Theo
Some people believe that if they have a bulge of fat in one area they can exercise that one area and the fat will disappear. But spot-reducing is a myth.
Men who store fat in their stomachs can not reduce it by spending an hour on the AB machine. Nor can women spot reduce their saddlebags by spending hours on the total hip machine.
All exercises can strengthen and tighten the muscles, but all muscles are underneath a 'sub-cutaneous' layer of fat that gives it the appearance of cellulite or flab. The only way to lose that layer of fat is by losing weight.
Where you lose the weight depends on your genes. Some women will always have larger hips or thighs than others even after they are as thin as they can get. Losing weight around the waist is easier than losing it at the hips. And while losing weight, many people find that the fat comes off in places they wished it would have stayed on (women and their chest for example)! Weight usually peels off from the top down!
Your exercise program should include a variety of strength training and aerobics. And pay attention to your diet: eating right is a key to losing weight.
Creating strength and muscles in the upper body of women can draw the eye to the upper body and draw attention away from a problem hip area.
By no means, should you stop doing exercises for one area of your body. What we all need to do in our exercise program is make sure we are hitting all areas of our body. Do not stop doing sit ups, just make sure that sit ups are not the only exercise you are doing. Diet, strength training and aerobics are the key to over all body shaping!

As I've said, I started to jog for about 10 min then puro walking. Tapos after ilang jog siyempre improve mo dapat like alternate na ang jog and walk every round. Then improve ulit after ng 2 jog and 1 walk every round. Basta at least for an hour. Until makaya mo na magjog ng dirediretso.:~( Ayy... may warm and cool down yun ha! :D And to firm your muscle add some strenghtening exercises like lunges, ab crunch, para sa arms etc. and para maging proportion din body mo.;)
Then don't think that you're there because nagsasacrifice ka para pumayat. Just have some fun!!! Try to jog at ULTRA dami ka makikita. Dami PAPA! :D Hehehe!
I tried before the gym, but for me mas effective yung jog. Mas feel ko ambiance ng oval field.

lost around 90-100 pounds in a year and a half.
strict dieting and excercise talaga
low carb high protein diet
kaya yan :D
best results will come in the first few months tapos nun babagal na yung paglose ng weight if you dont change your diet/workout.
i suggest you reasearch on the atkins diet if you want to shed pounds and pants/dress sizes fast

hi guys!
just started taking BP yesterday, and so far...i cant say that im feeling any side effects yet. i just noticed that:
1) im usually thirsty and i pee a lot. balita ko may diuretics daw ang BP kaya ganun.
2) i feel really full, even if konti lang kinain ko. i actually eat kc nasa instruction na i should take the prescribed number/kind of pills 10 min. before i eat lunch or dinner. baka kc dapat may laman yun stomach mo for it to take effect.
3) i lost interest in food and sobrang breakthrough ito coz im so matakaw, always thinking of food kahit kakakain ko lang. hanggang look and tikim lang ako, then ayoko na.
i think i have same kind of BP or Take9 (***** ko lang narinig yun, but then 9 tabs nga *** everyday) na ginagamit din ni bluemoon88. btw, i got it for P2200 and thats good for a month.
i have the maroon-gray capsule set which is 'stronger' in dosage daw compared to the crystal-blue capsule. anybody care to comment on this?
kwento ko lang... last febuary i weighed around 125 lbs, then after working for 5 months sa call center, i went down to around 117 or so. nagulat nga yung friends ko whom i havent seen for quite some time, sobrang pumayat daw ako and they were teasing me na o.s. ako kaya ako pumayat (over-sexed daw?!?) anyways, kaya **** ako pumayat nun e dhil sa puyat and stress from work. and besides, ive been doing this (not so strict) atkins diet at the same time. effective ***, in fairness!! anyways, i resigned towards the end of july so ayun, buhay bum. literally kain-tulog from then on. i knew i was getting fat pero i didnt care, afterall, sexy pa din **** ako sa paningin ni mahal and it was so fun to try out diff restos everytime we go out. yum!yum!
the only physical activity i seem to enjoy is ...ahm... alam nyo na yun lolz!, and we could only do it like, once or twice a week.
then it finally hit me when i started looking for my next job just last month. ang sisikip na ng mga biznez-casual clothes ko!! asar talaga!! ang to top it off, my bro is getting married this dec and id hate to see myself looking like a spring roll on his wedding day with the gown that i comisioned for. last i checked, i was 128lbs already... |intek! i gained like around 9-10lbs pala since nung nag-resign ako, nde ko akalain talaga...tsk!tsk!tsk!
so i decided to try BP. actually, i was also hesitant in trying it as anybody would, dami daw side effect e, pero kako if ever na mahilo-hilo ako or something, id be able manage **** kc nsa bahay lang ako for the entire month. walang takot!! kako babawiin ko lang yung weight na na-gain ko, and thats like 10lbs nga, and hopefully, id be able to reach my ideal wt which is 110lbs. soon after that.
gudlak nlang sa atin and il kip u guys posted kung effective **** or kung kinakarma na ko for my gluttony. wag **** sana ako biglang manginig at madeport sa 3rd stage of dante's hell.

GilmoreGal: that's my challenge now. I haven't gone past the Induction phase.
amoundici: try Atkins.com -- it's basically a low carb, high protein, no sweets diet. You'd have to eliminate rice, bread, chocolates, anything sweet, even fruits (at the first few months) and stick to protein -- fish, chicken, beef, pork, some seafoods. You'd also have to check nutrition labels. And pair it with exercise.

hi just want to share somethin i know sbrang hirap maglose wait n ang cravings ang lagi nating kalaban so i want to share this. pag umaatake na ang pagccrave ko sa food binabasa ko *** to hope it will helps ... :)
food cravings - how to stop them!
A popular question that I hear is about how to stop giving in to food cravings. How to stop eating your favorite junk food. Maybe its chocolate or ice-cream, or candy of some kind, or cookies and cake, or potato chips or fast food, or something you just love to eat, but need to stop eating because it is junk food. Whether you are trying to lose weight or gain weight, no matter what your goals are, everyone ate some kind of junk food at sometime and needs to stop eating it now, but some people just can't stop. They just can't "get rid of the cravings" for these foods and just can't stop giving in to their food cravings. Before I go any further, let me be honest. I am going to get mean in this article. I am sure I will offend a whole bunch of people. My goal of this article is to get my point of view across, a point of view that I feel very strongly about, and I am sure a lot of people will disagree with it, but oh well. I want to get my point of view across in the exact way that I have it in my head, so I will NOT sweeten it up so that I don't hurt people's feelings or make them angry with me. I want to get my point across in such a way that it motivates everyone reading this article. So, if you have a problem with that, stop reading. If you don't, then here goes....
SHUT UP!!!! Who the hell are you to whine to me? Shut up already!! Sure, I can completely understand if your problems with getting the results you want are from the wrong information about your workout or diet. I've been there before. I used to do the wrong stuff. But after I finally learned the right stuff, I made this website so others don't have that problem. I want to save you time, money and effort by giving you free truthful information about how to get the results you want. But, this isn't about your diet or workout. This isn't about you wasting money on some useless ab workout product or stupid weight loss product or other useless supplements and products that weren't working for you. This is about food cravings. Don't whine to me. I've heard it before. "It's so hard, I'm around this type of food all the time, the cravings just won't go away, I have a sweet tooth, I just have to give in to the cravings." Stop it, you're boring me.
Don't give me your little stories. Like how you are around this type of food all the time. Do you think you are the only one, buddy? Everyone I know and am related to eats junk food all day long. This crappy food is everywhere I look. I am no different than you, except, I don't give in. Do I have super human powers? No. Do I not give in because my arms are bigger than yours? No. Do I not give in because I can bench press more than you? No. Do I not give in because my bodyfat is lower than yours? No. Do I not give in because I am physically better or physically stronger than you? No. I don't give in because I am mentally stronger than you. That's all it is really, mental. And for you to give in and me not to give in, we can only assume that I am mentally stronger than you. How does that make you feel? I don't know a damn thing about you, but I know that mentally, I can do something that you cannot. It sure makes me feel good though. That fact motivates me even more! So, thanks for being so mentally weak. It will make me work that much harder during my next workout. Thanks a lot.
Sorry, did I hurt your feelings yet? I didn't mean to, I'm just stating the truth. It's not my fault if the truth hurts. So, you understand now that this is all mental, right? Do you understand that it's all a matter of mental strength and will power? Good. Here's what you do. Next time your little food cravings start coming out, think about this. Look at the food and think... "What do I want more. The 5 seconds of enjoyment that I will have while I chew this food, or, the enjoyment that 24 hours of everyday, 7 days of every week, I will have the body that I want to have." That is what it comes down to. Remember.... No food will taste as good as getting results will feel.
And you other people, you bullshitters. The ones that give me that ******** speech about how "every food is ok if eaten in moderation." And how "no one should deny themselves anything." These are the same people who probably believe in having "Cheat days." Cheat days are the 1 day of the week where some people allow themselves to cheat a little from their diet and give into their cravings, in moderation of course, kind of like a reward for the good work they did all week. Ya know what.. ********! The hell with you and your cheat days. Your reward for sticking to your diet all week is 1 day of cheating? What kind of **** is this? Your reward for sticking to your diet all week is RESULTS! Remember them, the reason that you are on this diet and working out in the first place. To get results!!! Not to have a cheat day at the end of the week.
Every food is ok as long as it's eaten in moderation. One candy bar won't hurt. One cookie won't hurt. One piece of junk food won't hurt. Oh, is that so? Will it help? No, it will not help. It is doing nothing good for you in any way possible. Therefore, it serves no purpose! You are giving into your cravings for 5 seconds of chewing enjoyment, and nothing more. ****, it does more bad than good. Do you know what giving into your cravings "in moderation" does to most people. It makes them feel guilty. It makes them crave that food even more. It keeps the cravings alive and strong. Stop giving in to your cravings and the cravings will go away. Simple as that. What are you thinking now? Who am I? Like I never cheat or give into my cravings a little? NO! I don't! Not at all, not a little, not in moderation, not anything. The thought of eating some type of junk food doesn't even enter my mind anymore. I don't need those 5 seconds. I am stronger than that. Call it will power, or call it mental strength. My goal is to get results. My road to getting those results doesn't have to have 5 seconds of chewing pleasure. I eat for purpose, not pleasure. Food is not a hobby. Food is something your body needs to survive, and in the case of working out and getting results, food is something your body needs so that you can get those results. Food is nothing more than that. So, I give my body only what it needs to make these results happen. Does my body need the 5 seconds it takes for me to chew a piece of chocolate? No. Does my mind need it? NO! My mind is way too strong to need it, and I love knowing that.
Like I said, I eat for purpose, not pleasure. That statement sums up everything that I think about "cheat days" and "food cravings" and "everything is ok if it's eaten in moderation." So don't whine to me about how hard it is for you. Do you think I will feel bad for you? I won't. You are not special. It is exactly as hard for you as it is for me and EVERYONE else. What's the difference? I have what it takes mentally. Ya know what else, you have it too... you just need to learn to use it

I'm also using BP right now to lose weight. I've been taking it for 3 weeks na, & so far ang ganda ng result! Last na nagtimbang ako, i lost 16lbs na. And so far, walang negative reaction. Thirsty lang lagi and mabilis pawisan.
Before i decided to try it, super takot ako kasi i heard na maraming side effects daw. Pero talagang desperate na ako to lose weight kaya nagsearch ako sa net & i found this girl, name nya PaganAngel who is selling it sa femalenetwork.
She explained it all talaga, as in ang kulit kulit ko and daming tanong pero she really made me feel na safe yung BP. So far, I'm still losing weight & am gradually changing my bad eating habits kasi sabi nya she doesnt want me to be dependent on the BP.

yeah... and pansin ko after several rounds of that diet, if i eat more than i should sumasakit na tummy ko... and yeah im enjoying what i eat kasi may lasa naman yung kinakain... and after the 3 days may rest day ka na 4 days.... kaya you can eat pa rin yung ibang food na gusto mo...

hirap mag maintain...pero so far ok naman. minsan I binge but not a lot, guilty lang. I lost 40-45 lbs and maintenance na lang. Exercise everyday as well as watching what I eat.

This is my first time to post here. Read everybodys posts. Im 58 and Im 113 pounds. Before I left for the states (last year) my weight was only 90 pounds. Was pretty happy with that ideal weight. My bf and friends said Im underweight and that I should gain more weight. I dont think so. I just have this tiny problem with regards to the flabby part around my stomach. I just dont get it. I go to the gym. Do crunches. Do the usual freaking exercises. Go jogging. Yet I cant see any improvements w/ regards to my bilbil. Any tips, suggestions??!! oh yeah, where can I buy the take9 tablets? Thanks!

Doing crunches may not be enough to loose those flabby part around ur stomach. You have to do cardiovascular activites like swimming, aerobics, cycling, jogging, walking. But in doint that, u will lose weight. and in ur case, ur not suppose to coz u'll look skeletal.
We cannot compare our body to other models we see on magazines and tv. Some body can be like that and some cant.
So in ur case...which do u prefer? looking skeletal with flat stomach? or looking a bit underweight (bt better than skeletal) with a li'l flabby part around d stomach?

i'd definitely choose the latter of course but i'm not just talking about a little flabby part...it's not little...it's rather huge especially after i've eaten.
curious. when you say cycling - i'm actually using a stationary bike. does that count?? is that a cardiovascular activity? i was told to use a regular bike.

its normal to have a huge stomach after eating. To prevent that, i think its more appropriate to eat small amounts within the day than eating huge amounts (3meals/day) so that ur stomach won't expand much.
yeah, stationary bike can be considered as cardiovascular activity. as long as u sweat and ur using energy ur burning calories :)
I think in Fitness first, they have this aerobics class, where d students do the stationary bike throughout the class...so its considered as cardio exercise.

Looks like you tend to store fat in your middle. Keep doing your cardio exercises. For Fat loss, I've heard most body builders do cardio exercises on an empty stomach so their body is forced to use stored fat for energy.
No such thing as spot reducing i'm afraid :D when u lose overall body fat your tummy will get smaller too. And I sell Take 9 BP just in case ur interested. PM me or text me na lang (0916) 2573461 ;)
