Where can I find info on this? The idea was introduced to me by my former employer. He said that it's actually being studied abroad. Included are the design of websites, site maps, placement on buttons, forms, etc on a certain page... It sounds really interesting.
Would you guys know anything about this? Or where can I find info on it? Is anyone in the Philippines into this?

I'm taking this class this semester Caramba. ;)
Here's a book for you.
Designing Web Usability : The Practice of Simplicity
by Jakob Nielsen, ISBN: 156205810X
The topic you're referring to is Web Useability and Human/Computer Interaction - Interface Design.
Actually, plenty of Computer Science Degree holders are taking up Human/Computer Interaction as a Masters Degree because it focuses on this very issue. GUI Design.
And Web Useability goes hand in hand with this.

Hi Caramba,
I attended a conference on "Website Content Management" a year or two ago in Hongkong. This featured case studies from different multinational companies with effective and successful websites, with some discussion on web architecture.
The conference organizer is a company based in Singapore called IQPC. Please check out their website at http://www.iqpc.com or email them at enquire@iqpc.com.sg for future offerings.
Hope this helps.

Bored from doing financial analysis for some ****** banks, I started philandering with web technologies as a Web Architecture Specialist when an American friend opened up a Web Design and Architecture office in Makati. There I learned the web basics from the primitive HTML infrastructure to interactive technologies. Another friend hooked me up with this Canadian investor who was engaged in online gambling and porn business. I did some information and web architecture, search engine indexing, web-based forms for feedback, credit card processing, and site design for his gambling and porn sites. I did not actually have any formal education or training (damn, I majored in Economics and Literature), but my friend would send me books and so I had to learn it all by myself.
Hey don't fret, it is just a fragrant term for web designer cum web content writer cum developer. If you know your web, and you are really good, learning it by yourself won't hurt. :)

well for one thing, maraming pinoy ang magaling sa graphics design... mapa-raster or vector. ang medyo di ko lang talaga nagus2han ay yung sa abs-cbn.com... they used pastel colors and di organized ang bawat pages. about PEx, ayos2 naman ang design and layout, esp. yung functionality [vb scripting, etc]. Ayos naman din color combi... Pero kasi ako, when I design pages I only use 1 color and sa shading na lang nagiiba kasi madami na ngayong servers use context firewall and mas mabilis daw magload ang isang page kung iisang element lang ang ginamit mo... maximum of 2 colors siguro [excluding black for texts] ang ginamit ko sa isang design na project namin.:)

A good place to start for any web related software (shareware...and even freeware) is www.zdnet.com
key in 'web publishing', or 'html editors' and you should find everything you need.
Good Luck!
