Do you think the Marriott chain of hotels has a more useful hotel-points program than the Hilton chains? Well for one, Marriott actually have hotels in Manila (new world hotel) and Cebu.. while the Hilton has nada properties in the Philippines that you can use your points on..
off topic: i just realized that at certain membership levels, you can actually earn enough hotel points to earn 1 free night's stay for every 7.

I travel almost every week and spend more time living in a hotel than my own bed.
It took me quite some time manage the information overload that is inherent in going to unknown places. Your senses are just swamped with new things and when you meet up with clients you look a bit "tulala".

Haha, ganun ba un? Ako e I blank out all information except the hotel I'm staying in, the client building, and my desk in relationship to that building.. saka na yung oohs and aahs pag weekend na and you can see the sights..
Whats the best hotel you've been to, pre?

I got a friend who is an E&Y Consultant. Boy! How he hates travelling now! He usually flies twice in a day from one state to another. Almost living in the hotels, eating hotel food ... and he hates them too! Calls it cardboard food. :D
But on vacations, who wouldn't love travelling? He just came back from his trip to 5 different countries: Fiji, New Zealand ... and I forgot the other three. :D
I envy him! ;)

i did quite a bit of bussiness travelling too. and yeah i know the feeling about missing your own bed. :( after a while you'll get used to the time changes ('specially if you sleep it off on the plane), but christ! US airports are so damn long! Asian airports like Korea and Japan doesn't have an English translation to their vendo machines, worse the folks there don't speak English. i had the harrowing experience of trying to ask where i can get drinking water once, they directed me to the ladies room good grief!
*sigh* and lugging around your luggage, waiting for the carousel to spit it out, wondering if your perfume bottles aren't shattered to bits, looking for a cab *groan*...

Hmmm...best hotels, couldn't really say as I am pretty much too busy attending to my meetings than checking out the place. (tsaka mababa lang ang kaligayahan ko.)
For me, aside from looking for a decent location and room, the hotel should have a a gym. I tend to entertain a lot and need to exercise to burn off the calories. <sigh>
I do like the Mandarin group of hotels (great spa), shangri-la, marriot...but in the end, a friendly face in the hotels that I stay in score the most points for me.

The Federal Aviation Administration announced Sunday all U.S. airports are required to add random shoe checks of passengers to the already established practice of random baggage checks. The FAA warned airlines earlier this month to be on the lookout for people trying to smuggle weapons or bomb-making components in their shoes.

I was in Seoul bound to SF. At the boarding gate, we had to go through the metal detector thingy, our handcarry physically checked, and a body check coupled with the use of a portable detector.
An Aussie commented on the strict security. A Filipino overhearing the comment, quipped " That's nothing new. In my country, you can go to the malls to experience the same thing."
