i graduated not with honors, but one with the most potentials in my course, industrial design. i love doing product design, and packaging design even more! my forte is product rendering.
currently, i'm working as an accnt management asst and i'm always longing for a design career. i'm frustrated (but pls don't get me wrong, i am grateful to have a job at these crisis, but....) arts & design is where i should be.
any advice? (yes, i've already taken the liberty to send my resume to almost all the advertising companies in ortigas and makati).
tnx.

rachelt12 hi there, dont worry. you are still young. got lots of things to learn pa.
here in the phil, going on your own might just be the way for you. so give yourself a time frame to learn things that will help you in your future business. from management skills, administration, design, productions and even marketing.
find out which direction you want along the way. there are many fields that you can enter. be toy design, industrial machines, all the way to fashion accessory designing. find job openings related to what you want to do. add credits to your resumes.
take short courses too if you can afford them, buy books and magazines on designing or even related articles and editorials will help you alot. as you might already know, designing is not only bout the product, but also the people that will be using them.
good luck :)

hi. i guess i was in a really terrible rut dat day and i felt letting out some steam.
anyway, i'm still hoping for a design career, more on packaging (as i'm great with colors) design in singapore or hongkong someday. right now, i'm just going with the flow and maybe work for 1-2 years with the company i am in right now.
i've heard that as an accounts manangement specialist, i cld easily land in another job in marketing...so, cross our fingers. =)
btw, i'm from csb-- and hello to linuxmandrake..
quite a few of us in our batch landed in an arts and design path, as we all had not hoped to be in. but who knows. nothing is permanent..nor temprorary in life.
thankx guys for your advices...happy holidays.
