Are you stressed-out coz of work? I feel so harassed lately and everyday's becoming a struggle. I can't say i LOVE my work but I don't HATE it either. I'm pretty new so I don't want to resign yet. I work with people who are really good...cum laudes, magnas, etc. so i always feel pressured to step up and whenever i commit mistakes, i take it hard. How do you cope w/ pressure? ANy tips? Thnx!

HI there Cosmo.. I think it's just a matter of time management and knowing and accepting your strengths and weaknesses.. having colleagues who are magnas and cum laudes is great.. you get to learn from them and it's easier to absorb more information..

but if being pressured into being like them, even though it's self-appointed, stresses you out, maybe just a bit of organizing your priorities is needed..

Hope this helps..

Rachel

everyone makes mistakes. so when you make one, learn from it and move on. it is worse to be afraid to commit mistakes. so take it all in stride. making a mistake is not too bad - its making the same mistake thats not good. also, your performance will always be looked at in totality.

Well, I have a daughter, so whenever I go home, just conversing with her and seeing her takes away the pressure.

Of course music relieves me of so much pressure. I also smile a lot so that things won't be as bad as they seem to be, and just smiling takes off loads of pressure!!! I also convere with my officemates and somehow, that makes me feel better. ;)

You shouldn't feel pressure, maybe your officemates just make mistakes with grace :) and they are experts on how not to show their pressured side.

Some suggestions:
if you feel stressed when you are at work, open another site like what Potato_babe mentioned ( like pex), send a private message ranting to somebody am sure marerelease yan. or send an icq or ym message.

if you have your own table, try to arrange and re-arrange your stuff. :) great stress reliever if you ask me!

Drink something warm, it helps me relax.

Go to the washroom and wash your face

If you are at home, try not to think of work, ask how everybody else's day turned out.

try to call up a friend you haven't talked with for the longest time.

watch reruns on tv.

read a good book.

What? Me? Work? hahahahaha  Just kidding, ha?

Always treat yourself.. for me, when I leave the house I download an entire episode of something to watch.. usually Smallville. So I get home, watch, and de-stress. :D

stressed out of work? ... don't let it happen

first -- give the best out of yourself for your work
next -- be yourself, don't compare yourself to others
next -- find time to think of everything that you do, think of the consequences and strategy
next -- read a lot
next -- make fun of learning (to live is to learn)

and most of all, try your best and be humble with honesty in your heart

i think working out after a whole day's worth of work is a good stress reliever...
if ur too lazy or something, just try to go someplace else before u go home...take a walk...at the mall maybe or somewhere...eat dinner out with people whose company u enjoy. that way, u can do a lot of ranting hehe :D always works for me...

i take my mind off from anything that involves work. then everything else follows---i shop if i have the moolah, i hook up with friends, i eat my comfort foodie, i watch t.v. and at night i doze off thinking that tomorrow is another day. works for me. :)

I love Pressure!
it really keeps me going
and challenge gives me life!

don't think of it as a burden
pressure is really good and it will put out the best in you. the harder it gets the more you become good.

what would you prefer?
doing ntohing or handling pressure? ;)
