EY Y'ALL ehehe..yeah sarado max i dunno why.siguro naingayan mga tao ng cerritos sa mga nagkakaraoke don..yeah the food there's not that good..DJ's BiBINGKAHAN ata ang pumalit ehehe ambaduy ng pangalan ..turo turo i think (?) pero anyway, if u guys want to eat filipino food, hmm punta kayo dito sa bahay luto kayo ahaha joke lang =) i dont really know of any filiipno 'restaurant' (not pointpoint)..except for:

-KAPiSTAHAN (cerritos south st.)
-Manila Peninsula (Anaheim Chapman ave)

tapos yung iba, sa LA na..yeah i tried JOLLIBEE sa Carson, it sucked ehehe..pinoy serving talaga ehehe ang onti ng spaghetti..so kung may alam kayo..suggestions naman...if u're looking for ROMANTIC non filipino restaurant, try LA LUNA NEGRA sa pasadena..hmm and this italian restaurant sa santa monica i forgot the name eh...***!

anyways, we're kinda running out of ideas for having a blast here in LA.. i know there are a lot of LA pexers here.. so what do u recommend? any places...? we've tried hiking, beaches... and some bars.
kayo, what other unique ways do u do on weekends?
any nice cuisines u'd like to recommend?

try miyagis on friday nights and sat nites. chillers redondo beach is also nice.

the best LA beach so far we like is Hermosa, the crowd is so so cool.

Miyagis is a bar resto. The clientelle is mostly asians and the age range is college kids, 21, 22 and 23.

Its fun, but gets old kinda fast.

been to moomba twice.

the first time was for a sunday brunch this july lang. the second time was the weekend after that. cool na place. beautiful people everywhere, i fit right in ;). its actually along robertson blvd, in west hollywood, pero its really close to beverly hills. food is great. pero im there for the partying. sa friday punta ulit kami. some people have a hard time getting in, pero if you know the right people, madali lang.

Food is good. Services HELLA EXPENSIVE....we never do them...just using the facilities and the mud is enough.

meron pa palang florentine gardens and the palace. tagal na nyun. thats the thing kasi, a lot of underaged women try to get in chillers, even if theyre not allowed to. of course theyll get picked up. chillers is such a fun place to meet chicks. chillers is strictly for outgoing adults. clubbing is for adults. if youre spending your parents money, you shouldnt be clubbing. you should be home sleeping or studying. when you go to a club and pretend youre old enough and wear skimpy outfits, of course youll get picked up. if you dont want to get picked up, stay your a$$ home, or go to those boy and girl clubs like arena. arena nga young crowd. they dont serve alcohol there, i dont think.

hey have you been to giant in old town pasadena? people who rave, check that club out.

Scuse me...that lecture doesn't do me any good...who says I'm underaged:lol: Your observation about Chillers is as good as mine ;) Ho bag lookin' car show ho skeezin' teeny boppers shouldn't be there...and you can spot who they are from afar real fast. Tsk tsk...sayang lang ang beauty nila with the dirty old men:shakehead: Saw too many potential statutory rape cases when I was there.

The Arena does serve alkie last I was there during hs days.

Food is good. Services HELLA EXPENSIVE....we never do them...just using the facilities and the mud is enough.

frat parties are crazy, and really juvenile. but i like them because yes, they do get wild. i stopped going when i turned 24, a while back. gawd, im sooo old. the wildest frat parties are in westwood village, where ucla is located.

Good decision to sell your club 'cause Glendale is notorious for very expensive small business rent and taxes...or so I heard when I worked at the Glendale City Clerks office the summer of my junior year in high school. Glendale is a SLEEPY town (have you noticed) not like Old Town Pasadena or say Burbank. When it hits 10 or 11pm wala ng tao sa labas on Brand Blvd. And the demographic is Hispanic/Armenians and Senior Citizens based on my observation and 15 years of living here.

How do you guys feel about Barrio Fiesta and Max's locations here in Glendale? They're okay.

Ang nakikita ko lang popular dito sa Glendale are the Armenian Banquet Halls/Clubs that have sprouted up in Glendale since the late 80's early 90's but I notice only Armenians patronize those joints. Armenian clubs and maybe Giggles (Dance Club in front of The Exchange on Brand Blvd. right next to Kinko's and Atty. Gurfinkel's Law Office) are the only ones I see getting some action on weekends around here.

Nobody: I believe Armenians are considered White 'cause that's what I remember my teachers and Armenian classmates putting on scantron form questionnaires about their ethnicity way back in junior high and hs. And they're a majority Christian Orthodox people.

Hey let us know here in a PeX thread about your planned EB. I'll be leaving for Pinas before Halloween and will be back on February of next year. I'll be enjoying the motherland for a longer period of time (than the ordinary 3 week summer vacation) this time around. I took a semester off from school for this...woohoo. i know about the location. i was going for brand ave. but rent is just way up there. actually, we have regulars naman, so its okay. i dont even have a sign up, its ALMOST exclusive for the faithful.

nice! gcc. a lot of fine filipinas there. me? gangster? i was IN a gang, but was not like, in it for all the violence. i lived in anaheim but moved further down south near dana point. right by the water baby!

i thought about the areas you mentioned. there was an area around glendale blvd that i liked, but weary of those underaged filipinos who gets in with fake ids and cause trouble. thats how it is in atwater village.

diamond bar is okay, but my bar used to used to be in the burbank are and developed quite a clientele from the valley. so moving it to covina, glendora, diamond bar or somewhere inland was far from my mind.

cerritos, i liked. now were talking baby. i like the cerritos area, downtown l.a. im looking into it too. long beach, definitely. watch out, ive other plans.

actually, ive been meaning to sell it for the longest time now. i just, i dont know, im such a party person, i like the social part of it. soon though, ive to sell it while its still profitable.

good point on taxes.

hell no im not putting up some karaoke joint. magiging saturated lang ng filipinos yun. not that theres anything wrong with that. i just would like to have a wider market. karaoke cancels that purpose.

You know due to a bad (annoying) incident with my first ever (and very last) EB with a Filipino guy when I first logged on to the net in 1997, I've always been hesitant to do EB's :p

Last year there was a PeX US EB Thread (http://www.pinoyexchange.com/forums/showthread.php3?s=&threadid=15040&highlight=Hows+that) dito and many signed up to go pero wala naman nangyari.

Hmmmhh...Cali and USA PeX EB's seem impossible to organize 'cause either no one wants to step up and take charge, everybody's schedule is different and it ends up fizzling out in the end :lol:

Red Lion...red lion...uhhh...didn't they have a night where it was like ballroom dancing for old people like our parents....i think that's where my mom and her friends would go ball room dancing sometimes and then they'd head out to max's afterwards for a late dinner...diba parang old people/family feel sila.

Right on with your target market, Cong, finally somebody woke up and smelled the hairspray. Yes please advertise your establishment in such a way that it draws a multi-ethnic customer base. Not all Filipinos or FilAms in SoCal or LA hold a purely Filipino group as closeknit friends (a stereotype I'm often asked being an Angeleno FilAm). Not all my friends are flips...so it is hard to find places to take a group of non-filipino and filipino friends out that will offer food, dancing, live entertainment with a semi-Filipino-ish gimmik flair and won't leave the other non-filipino people with you feeling like an oddball. Am I making sense?

You should think of catering your planned BAR/CASUAL DINING/DANCE CLUB/LIVE ENTERTAINMENT establishment to mature (non-trouble maker/ghetto) college age young adults and young working professionals like you, Nobody and Misbee. These customers get tired of the pure DANCE CLUB/BAR scene sometimes. We like a place where we can just hang out, enjoy good eats and talk, too. A little bit of both Dance Club/Bar and Eat Good Food/Hang Out atmosphere (like a Chuy's or Garden Cafe') would be nice. Cool live entertainment once in a while would be good, too. Don't make it a too intimidatingly sophisticated place. Aim for the non-threatening feel. Vary the music and live entertainment (if you're planning these things). Not everybody is into hip/hop. Do every genre of mainstream music...like take a bit of KROQ, KISSFM, THE BEAT, METAL/PUNK/SKA...whatever. Advertise in certain college campuses, the radio stations, post in certain message boards...if it's a good place and you offer good food and service and good security then word will spread that it's a place well worth the visit.

I just haven't found a place to kick it on Friday's/Weekends with all these attributes all rolled into one yet. If my suggestions sound too cheeseball for some of you well...tough noogies...that's what I enjoy.

I admit...I can't argue with that. My aunt has been living in Anaheim for 3 years now. She lives in the Anaheim Shores subdivision by the Martin Luther King Hospital. Ganda doon. Nice area. bago lang ako dito sa L.A. mas matgal akong nag-stay sa Bay area. Sa east bay in particular. if you could help me find a place na puros professional ang naghahang-out..tapos may mga live bands which play acid jazz/pop, funk, r&b... kase i've been once to a club in mountainview sa frisco...pero puros mga bata... middle 20s na kase ako..so i would prefer being with a more mature crowd..di naman yung tipong mga DOMs or mga ballroom...ballroom.. tapos usap-usap lang at brainstorming at mindgames..or something intellectual like the ones in Inka or Gulod in U.P...if you've been to those places in manila. forgive me this wrong..talagang feeling ko O.P. ako sa mga clubs...ok na sakin yung mga tipong live bands lang tapos di masyadong maingay...tapos everyone is professional....di naman sa discriminating ako..:)

to those in orange county, do u know a place called "Manila Peninsula"? may katabi na marriott hotel. i believe it is still part of OC. it's a karaoke bar frequented mostly by pinoys, but i know minsan marami ring non-pinoys. my friends and i had a really good time there last year. a white caucasian impressed us by singing a tagalog piece ni gary V, and they say a number of non-pinoy guests there really can sing tagalog songs.

Eagle Rock here, suki ako ni nanay...its in front of Verdugo and Eagle Rock blvd...pag nakita ninyo yung Rite Aid, dun yun sa complex na yun, me pinoy video store, grocery, forwarding etc. etc., puro pinoy actually...meron ding phil village center malapit dun. lipat na kayo lahat at malungkot dito.
