What's your best tv show - the one you tape the few times you miss it? I like Party of Five and have been following it since it started.

My all-time fave TV shows in no particular order -- Star Trek, Ally McBeal, X-Files, Millenium, 7th Heaven, L.A. Law, E.R.

Batang Uliran: Don't you get depressed watching P.O.F.? Seems most of their episodes are out to make their audience cry. ;)

Friends has remained its strong ratings over the years. I watch HBO sometimes, but I can never seem to start a movie. Let's see, I also view almost everything that ESPN has to throw at me, especially if it is basketball related. Come to think of it, I don't really watch too much television unless it's basketball!

Ada:

thanks for reminding me of Ally Mcbeal - love that show also. I agree, POF has been getting sappier over the last year or so - I think it was better when it started but I continue to follow it nonetheless. Jennifer Love Hewitt will be leaving the show - she'll appear in about 4 episodes in the new season and then she will be moving out to a show of her own.

I think ER is pretty decent but the last thing I want is to watch a show that does a lot fo the things I do at work. And I think Chicago Hope in my mind is the better show. I can tell you right now, a lot of the stuff that happens in ER is realistic technically but that's not what happens in real life since I've seen this close up.

Peace.

tons!

for sports, there's espn, vtv and channel 4 (for uaap).

then there's 7th heaven, babewatch, err, baywaytch, home improvement, the nanny, spin city, friends, charmed, dawson's creek, viper, etc... etc...

i like some 'intellectual' shows every now and then, like probe team, and i-witness. i sometimes enjoy discussions on debate on channel 7, but that's if the topics interesting.

as for news, cnn is tops.

for movies, it's hbo

Batang Uliran,

What makes Chicago Hope better than ER? And what they do on ER isn't realistic? Care to give us some examples? :) They sure look convincing though.

Ada:

Among the things that are unrealistic in ER are:

1. they feature too many surgical cases wherein in a real er, maybe 10% of cases will require some sort of surgery if that.

2. even the trainees are excellent - you'd be hard pressed to find fully trained physicians as good as their trainees!

3. the staff is also "too good."

4. everyone's so sure of themselves wherein a real er is fraught with indecisions etc.

Don't get me wrong, in ER, their consultants make sure the show is technically correct, the dialogue is correct and the equipment is real. The whole flow though is what is phony to me. I've personally taken care of hundreds of ICU patients in the past 6 years and have participated personally in many emergency situations from doing CPR to running a resuscitation effort and the real thing is very different.

I like Chicago Hope because it seems to me to emphasize the drama aspect of the show which I think is the appealing part of it.

I never miss an episode of ER, Dawson's Creek and Friends. Those are my top three shows. ER is the best drama series around, and the sequences are always fast-paced. Contrary to what the others said, I find it better than Chicago Hope. Dawson's Creek is the best teen-oriented show around. Friends is hilarious, especially with the new storyline between Chandler and Monica. Like Kaboom, I was able to catch a few episodes of Felicity. I was really hoping for the series to premiere here soon, but it seems like no channel has realized its potential yet.

I used to follow really closely this cheesy show called "Central Park West". It aired on Channel 9 years ago and stopped airing after one season. It's an Aaron Spelling show...so you might have an idea what it's about.

All-time favorites would have to be Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Martin. Nowadays, I'd have to go with Buffy and Dawson's Creek.

I can't watch TV during weekdays, but I was able to catch some episodes of the new Friends story arch. Really really funny. Dawson's Creek, in my opinion, lost it's appeal when all these radical storylines took place, aka the Family of two psycho's, one homo, and one normal dad, the death of Abbie, and Jen getting disowned by her grandmother. It's probable but just so unlikely that these chain of events would happen at once, exactly the way these did.
