What about the best ads?

Good ads can get people to act, buy or change their opinions. It may not be the most creative (some creative ads don't even have an effect to a product's sales), but it's compelling/persuasive enough to make you stop, look, listen, think and/or buy. So, in your opinion what are the best ads airing in Philippine TV? And since the biennal Araw Awards (the ad industry's Oscars) is just around the corner, your responses could give us in the industry an idea who will rake in the accolades (and who will get the salary increases...). Thanks! :)

my teacher during my highschool days,once told us that one of the most succesfull TV ads is yung gawa ni Nora Aunor about pasador

I think that the overall ad campaigns of Ford and Destiny Cable were the most convincing for me. I mean, I myself checked out my local Ford dealer after hearing about their pricing and being bombarded with their goofy radio ads. And with Destiny, their site is getting several thousand hits per day I hear, and they can't keep up with tbe number of applicants to their cable service. Of course, both brands have a quality product or service to back up their marketing thrust, but both have done a great job in promoting this quality.

Saw the new SMB ad recently. Kyla was so freakin' HOT! She reminded me of Ina Raymundo's Sabado Nights ad, only she's prettier and has that "sosy" voice.

I worked in brand management before and Mccann Erickson was my ad agency. They do a good job as posted here are some of their accounts: SMB, Coke, Sprite, and J&J. Maybe even others that I don't know they handle.

At hindi sila sumisipsip! We had other agencies for the other brands and they were all out with the free meals and gifts. Maybe now my ex-account executive can treat after this compliment. Ha ha.

Those Little Ceasar's radio ads, that PLDT "Bye mom" thing, Budweiser (ants), Ray Ban (the one with vampires waiting for sunrise) and Panasonic.

My fave is "si Lumen ang wa-is na misis" L.O.L. glass house I agree with you the PLDT's "Good bye mom" was great, whenever me & my mom see that ad she kinda gets emotional coz I"m d only girl in d family.
Anyway my fave would be this PLDT ad (again!!) 'bout this 2 couples uttering no word, it was like they're fightinf or something then @ d end d guy was making animal sounds. Man!! It was soooo cute, it really showed the ad campaign "pldt clearly for u" (sus, r u?? bulok ng system nyo no!! hahahaha)

The Rock says that those Nike commercials are the best. It's just unfortunate that a lot of the better Nike ads from the States don't make it here. Those were really funny! Siyempre the whole sprtie campaign was cool, even sa radio. The Rock heard that there's another Sprite commercial coming soon, it involves H.H.W.W.P.S.S.P.

Though it relly sounds kinda baduy, the Lumen series is very well thought of. Who would ever think that the whole thing would run from wedding to firstborn?? SMB ads are good (all of them are well thought of, who'd ever forget shi-boom girl Rachel Lobangco). The Sprite series is also pretty cool.
The Green Cross commercial, I heard, got very favorable results. Hence, Maricel Soriano is now following Sharon Cuneta's footsteps as product endorser.

i got the kicks watching the brother and sister team in that commercial 'ayan pantay na'. i don't even remember the name of the product, but everytime i remember that commercial it makes me wanna drink juice. :)

Have you seen the new McDo commercial with the baby on a swing? He alternates between giggling everytime he sees the M sign of McDo and crying when he can't see it.

The McDo commercial is a real winner. In fact, it already won the Clio way back in 94 or is it 95. Which means, it's not new.

the juice commercial is Ice Cold Mix, a sister product of Eight O' Clock, a very tough client, so you gotta give a hand to those guys at Ace/Saatchi & Saatchi.

the Surf Lumen series gave Lintas Manila the Agency With The Best Market Performance award for 1998.

I think that the ads that were effective for me as a consumer were the J&J ads.... especially since I have a baby ...the ads really give you this idea that the company cares about your baby and their products are really meant for your family ...

I've noticed that no one has mentioned any of the Jollibee commercials. I don't like the most recent ones pero the "isa pa, isa pa" idea real caught on. The "magpakatotoo ka" commercials are really great. The pldt commercials, not bagay for their service (hehehe) I also always looked forward to the J&J commercials cos I like the models. Har har. That's all I can think of right now. Dami pa yan..

1. that "secret" commercial, y'know with the "alma, as in 'alma your ex'" bit. pretty faces can keep me staring at the boob tube. anybody know her name? the wife, i mean. "alma" i don't really care much for.

2. that "tide" commercial, with the fat kid being bullied and having his "bob" tee scrawled with "baboy". ang cute ng bata, ang taba-taba kasi, mukha pang kawawa.

Surprisingly, there are a lot of good adds nowadays!my faves are sprite yung magpakatotoo ka series especially the one where the girl asks the guy about a goodnight kiss, also coke commercial which features mitch valeriano and paolo fabregas, i also like the tanduay commercial they were talking about DAnte, their friend!, i also like the budweiser commercial, cool din ang mcdo commercial the baby and also axe commercial about the guy in the elevator!
