i just graduated last march and right now i intend to be a call center agent. just want to know about the job when your applying for customer service/sales/technical.. what do you usually do?

well, wala akong maisip na dahilan kung bakit nila kelangan pag-antayin ng ganung katagal ang mga naga-aaply, eh during the interview and exams naman eh malalaman nila kung qualified ka or hindi, and sa mga reference naman eh pde naman nila tawagan un sa 1 araw... hmmp...


It really depends who conducted the interview. But if it came from HR Recruitment, they would tell you that after a specific time frame and you failed to receive a call it means that you were not considered for the post. But I know for most account interviewers they usually tells you to wait for a call within 2 weeks, usually kasi if you did not pass for the specific account, they try to endorse to other accounts. But for Support group position, mejo madami pa kasi talagang ang nag-dedecide...mejo strict, syempre konti lang ang vacancy then madami ang applicants.

I have a horrible experience with their recruitment process... I walked-in last June 19, passed the initial interview and technical exam then the proctor told me to w8t within a week for the schedule of my final interview... I thought they've changed their mind coz it's actually more than 2 weeks (16 days to be exact)had passed before somebody phoned me to have my final interview... then in the final interview, I thought I did a great job since I’m very direct and prompt with the way I answered them especially the technical interviewer. I answered them with all my heart especially that I mentioned about my pending applications which the results were about to be known that same day. But I assured them that I prioritized Sykes over that said companies where I had my pending applications, (which is with no lies coz I’ve just turned them down on that same day in which I was supposed to receive Sykes’s call.) They advised me to wait for their call within that day but I received none. Knowing for their ‘reputations’ for delaying everything, I tried calling them the following day to check what’s their decision for me. I gave the names of my final interviewer, after relaying my message she came back informing me they will be the one to call. Then 3 weeks have passed so I tried calling them up again but this time I was more eager to know it. They transferred my call to almost every Sykes branch and I was just amazed that I would just end up to the HR rather than to the person/persons who were supposed to decide for me. It is so much unexpected that they didn’t consider me after ‘years’ of being left hanging. I didn’t receive even a simple e-mail about my status so I was just like waiting in vain This what really hurt me, they should have informed me earlier coz more than a month of my precious time has been wasted. They made me feel like a total loser who waited for nothing, who got tortured and robbed of his precious time.

I like Sykes as a company but the people who are responsible for my application are simply not a human at all. I hope that they are reading it now, and just be true to their words. I don’t want other applicants to endure the same fate like me.

thanks a lot and i do really appreciate your info. about Emerson acct. Ilang beses na rin akong nag-attempt na mag-comeback sa Sykes (i used to work here before, if not because of the metrics issue, malamang anjan pa ako even up to now heheheh) kaso wala akong time eh.

may question pa ako about non-csr position such as HR Assistant/HR officer. may i ask for project-based lang ba ito or for regular position? below minimum ba ang salary dito?

I'm eyeing on some IT positions under support group, but since I'm an ECE grad, konting softwares lang ang alam ko. Unfortunately, Network Engineer pa ang priority ko, e wala halos akong alam sa CISCO (but willing and interesting to learn)...will Sykes train me starting from scratch???

mataas ang job grade level ng IT ng sykes TSE i think and they need at least someone who has been working on a call center before and also knowledge with cisco and other networking stuffs. training for the said post i'm not sure kasi I applied for it before and they said no formal room training but yes you'll learn a lot kasi hands on experience.

About the Instrumentation and Process Controls, Electrical Engineer positions madami nyan and they are really looking for Engineering Grad I myself had applied for one of the post there EE grad ako TSP post na un mas mataas sa TSR but I turned down the offer kasi ok din un account ko ngayon and my account are handling Internet and telephony and yes it requires cisco knowledge pero la rin ako alam about it pero sabi they will train us at least un needed sa support.
Im currently on the same account handling DSL TSR post.

Adobe is actually a good acct. pili lang sila halos kung mag-hire ng agent, so kung dun ka napunta that's good for you... I think OSMA ngayon nka-based ang ADOBE but i'm not sure kung ililipat din sila sa sunneymede... OK din yan kung malayo pang palaki ng hazard!:lol:

SYKES- being first has its advantages, sa lahat ng nag aaply goodluck sa inyo, although maraming nagtatanong kung ilang interview ba bago makapasok, that i dont know, depende kasi yan sa account, kung bigatin ang account na papasukin mo mas marami, i remember my friend who works in trend micro account had 8 interviews that include phone interview and all that, basta be confident lang!! you can do it guys!

puede po ma regularize pero probi muna. although pag contractual ka, walang hazard pay at ibang benefits...per day yung bayad (mas mataas yung rate vs sa probi nung time namin ha).

Actually pag team building it's a bonding gimik ng team na sagot ng acct. Pero if there still in training wala pa pong team building yan... Mostly inuman *** yan or kwentuhan... Or if nkapasa sila they might be celebrating there victory? I guess... You also have to understand yan *** po ang consolation ng mga agents after a stressful shift. :D

u are correct 'i have no idea how things are going in call centers' thats why i asked.sana nagmarunong na ang ako sa 19-year old kong cousin at nagpanggap ako na madaming alam.though i dont take it against you believe me.and hindi ko "minamata" ang trabaho ninyo,why would i do that?yan din ang piniling mundo ng cousin ko.kanya-kanya lang trip yan.ikaw u embranced the call center world with open arms and i am saying i cannot do the same thing coz its my personal choice.if i say "i regretted it" its because i made a wrong decision na iwan ang prior job ko para doon sa 'parang call center' na pinagtrabahuhan ko.yun lang.......:) :) :)

One year na ako sa sykes this week. I cant say anything bad about the company itself. Makikita mo naman na they really give out great benefits.

But much is to be desired sa MCI. Kung politika ang usapan, dito na yata ang pinakaworst. The agents can lose their job any time kahit regular na. They are *** licking the client and every body is trying to impress them to the point of destroying other people's lives without care sa welfare ng empleyado.

Marami ng employees ang nagreklamo pero no action has been taken. Will post more here in the coming days. Mas juicy. hehehe

hmm had a bad experience sa Sykes,Client x or Intel. ang galing nila mag dispatcha dun... ayan... ngayon, desperado sila na magkaroon ng agents kasi nilalayasan na sila kahit di sila nagdidispatcha. KARMA. kainis! contractual pa ako nun, pero nalalaman na lang namin kung extended contract namin on the day na " supposedly expired " na yung contract. ang hirap.

sabi sa akin, after clearing up my clearance sa HR, In can then, reapply again sa HR. interview na lang ng client kasi lilipat lang naman ako ng account. may " endorsement" na daw ng TEAMLEAD. may pa meeting meeting pa with a representative of sykes. eh after ko makapag clear ng clearance dun... Oct 3 end of contract ko, by OCT 6 everything is CLEARD!! tapos naka 8 na walk ins ata ako dun. ang sabi lang sa akin is " titignan nila if im already cleared" hello!! nakuha ko na ang sweldo ko at naubos na titignan pa rin nila kung cleared ako. ndi naman nila irerelease last pay ko if im not yet settled. after 5 months.. Ang hirap naman kasi sa sykes ay parang di organized mga records nila. I had 3 interviews for Emerson – Customer Management Data account, after the 3 interviews, Sir Noel told me that they would just call me w/in the week for another interview (client interview). How many interviews do I have to undergo for them to hire me? I already went through 5 interviews already, including a phone interview and an HR interview. How long do I have to wait for their call?

here's my story... nag-apply ako sa sykes last Feb for emerson acct, i passed everything ang dami kong interview, i think 8 ata yun...then sabi nila they will give a call daw in a week kung kelan training ko...lumipas ang napakatagal na panahon ni walang tumawag sakin...i called them back to follow-up my application status, sabi lang sakin eh just wait kasi im not fit daw for that position hanggang natapos ang 6 months, eh di kamusta naman expired na... eh nag-apply na naman ako...eh ngayon sa ibang account ako nilagay...kakabwisit...:grrr:

nakakainis..di na approve yung VL ko for next week eh september pa ako nag apply..samantalang yung iba 2nd week lang ng november nag apply na approve pa! palakasan yata sa pag approve ehh..akala ko ba naman first come first serve basis...kung reason naman ang pag uusapan valid din naman ang reason ko kasi mag aabay ako sa kasal ng sis ko at yung ikakasal eh galing pa ng australia ..pupunta lang dito sa pinas para magpakasal .......2 days lang naman yung hinihingi ko...

ayaw ko na lang magtaray kasi nagpapakabait ako kasi mag aaply ako ng higher position sa january kaya behave muna ako.hahaaaa.mag email sana ko sa taga approve eh kaya lang behave muna...hahaaaaa

I remember same time this year,tinarayan ko yung HR poc dito sa site namin thru email..hahaaaa....kasi ba naman complete na medical exam ko di pa rin ako nag karoon ng increase unlike yung mga wavemates ko may increase na kasi kareregular lang namin. eh sabi
nila no physical exam, no increase...so before ako maregular inasikaso ko yung medical ko para walang hassle...eh 2 months na akong regular wala pa rin akong increase...

kaya dun na naginit ang ulo ko hahaaaaa..sinulatan ko yung poc namin ng nobela ...sabi ko complete na requirements pero wala pa rin akong increase...tapos sinabi ko pa dun "its ironic that we are in the customer service industry but you dont know how to treat your customers!" tapos sinabihan ko ding incompetent sila at di nila ginagawa ang trabaho nila...kaya ayun nag sorry yung poc kasi naoverlook lang daw nila yung papers ko....after a day nakatanggap ako ng email na macre credit na yung increase sa next payday....

kakainis......ang malas ko talaga this week.....hahahaha...di na nga na approve yung VL ko naging squatter pa ako!! our account used to occupy one whole floor then suddenly may isang acct daw ang mag occupy sa floor kaya half na lang ang sa amin...it started mga 3 weeks ago..hotelling..kaya kung saan may bakanteng station dun ka pupuwesto...medyo hassle lang nga kasi sa araw araw na pagpasok mo maghahanap ka pa ng station...di ba hassle yun... imbes na uupo ka na lang sa station mo eh maghahanap ka pa....eh ang tagal pa naman mag setup ng tools....tapos kung late log in ka pa sa avaya...magkakaroon ka pa ng ping sa workforce..hay buhay...ok lang naman ang ganoong set up until today...

naubusan ng station pero nakakita pa din ako..yun nga lang yung station na naupuan ko eh may team na nakapwesto..kasi per team yata eh 10 station lang ang alloted sa inyo..so kung 15-18 kayo sa isang team..magiging squatter yung 5-8 members....nakakabwisit imbes na mag 2nd break ako naubos lang sa paghanap ng station! queueing pa naman ngayon so instead na magpahinga ako ..naubos lang sa paghahanap ng station...so lipat ako ng 2nd station...

wala naman kaming naririnig sa mga higher up kung anong gagawin
sa lack of stations..araw araw na lang nagkakagulo ang mga agents/
tl's kung saan pupuwesto...added burden pa yan sa mga agents...ang paghahanap ng stations!paano ka naman gaganahan magtrabaho kung pagpasok eh wala kang station and kailangan mo pang maghanap!

I cant believe its happening to sykes...kung sa ibang never heard or upstart call centers siguro normal routine na ang maubusan at mawalan ng station....pero sykes?....the biggest and first call center in the philippines! walang station ang mga agents?!malapit na ang acct christmas party namin pero I doubt kung aatend ako..what's there to celebrate?...I'm planning to apply to another acct next year pero dahil isa akong squatter now..nabadtrip tuloy ako at gusto ko na lang mag apply sa ibang company!!!!! hindi lang nila alam ang dillema ng isang ahente sa paghahanap ng station tapos magkakaroon ka pa ng ping sa late log in sa avaya...nakakainis di bah!

and pwede ba wag na kayong mag pa raffle ng kotse! isang agent lang naman ang mapapasaya niyo! kung ang isang toyota vios ay nagkakahalaga ng 500 thousand ilang computers na ang mabibili niyan....ito ngang pc ko di ko malaman kung ano talaga ang brand..
dell ang keyboard, compaq ang cpu, ibm ang monitor...hahahhahahaa..bumili na lang kayo ng pc at magdagdag ng station....marami pa kayong mapapaligayang ahente...yan ang magandang pamasko sa amin!!!

Hello guys and girls....I need your help, I badly needed your help with regards to this one coz it might happen to you also here at Sykes..Here it goes..

I worked here at sykes last Feb. 2007 as an Email support (windows LIve id) that is the account. I worked here for 3 months only because the account and the number of mails that we are receiving everyday is not enough for all the agents, then the management decided to lessen their employee for the said account, some of them were transferred to other account some of them rendered their resignation to avoid TERMINATION. But me, I was left behind with this one because my TL told me that it will not lead to TERMINATIONafter a couple of days the Account manager talked to me and she discussed some details with regards to the account as well as my stats. Less than an hour she told me to sign an agreement but i didnt know what it is. At first i tought it's just a compliance because of the said stats.

After that i processed my back pay than after 40 working days i received my back pay and ****! i only got 1,600 for 3 months...co emp told me that they received 6k some of them were 8k but me damn! 1,600k...I tried to contact my TL at Sykes Sunnymede but I cant reach him. I've talked to two of the TL's there and they told me to call the accounting department and so i did, but I'm having a hard time to reach the accounting department to get an explanation bout this discrepancy **** guys that's my back pay...I'm now working here at Ortigas with no ***** people.

Darn those people who's in accounting dept..when you reach their extension somebody will picked up the phone but they immediately hang up the phone....****! im not stupid and im not new here in center..I just want to ask a breakdown of my back pay, remember guys that is my back pay, its my money, i worked for that i deserve to get that and i need a good explanation about that.

Usually dude nasa agreement na sign mo ang explanation o breakdown ng magiging back pay...

Ilapit mo sa DOLE ang problem mo, they will endorse you to a mediator.. sila ang mag iinquire..... walang bayad yon.....

@ jdash TSP is a job grade / Level nun position mo as agent sa sykes mas mataas 'to kesa TSR of course higher post mas mahirap ang work and also depende sa account hehehe I came from TSR post at ngayon TSP na ko pero feeling ko mas madali un ginagawa ko ngayon kesa nun nasa kabilang account ako :D
