During the screening, we had our chance to talk. And one of the applicant is having a hard time communicating and have so many grammar errors. After we have all introduced ourselves, the recruiter informed the girl that she will be endorsed to mandaluyong (?) branch and just wait for a call. It was obviously a rejection. She waited outside since her companion was still with us. The screening interview went on for another 10 minutes. We were scheduled for an exam the next day and we have to bring another resume.

Day 2

Five of us took the exams. Two for TSR and Three for CSR. We took four (?) types of exams. The recruiter in charge announced "Guys you all passed. You did well on the exam."

Then she started calling out names.

Guy 1 - Please answer this. This is an additional exam for TSR.

Guy 2,3,4 - Guys, we dont have any available interviewer for your account. We will just call you within the week between 3-5pm for the schedule of your interview.

Guy 5 - Please wait outside. Your name will be called for the interview.

wala nga regret letter sasabihin sa yo na tatawagan ka na lang yun na yung clue na hindi ka tanggap. unlike in convergys, hsbc, paragon me generated letter kung di ka tanggap. sa transworks sinabi ng hr na di ako tanggap apply ako after 6 months. ganon din sa ict tatawagan ka na lang me time frame. I've been in that same situation when i was still trying to grasp to pass an interview in a call center. people support sasabihan ka ng hr kung tanggap ko o hindi. sa nco i believe sasabihan ka rin kung tanggap ka o hindi. ambergris tatawagan ka lang yata.

ehhhmm...fyi po....meron ako mga kabatch 1 month after ng interview saka tinawagan....talagang kahit palpak kayo ihahanap kayo ng sykes ng available na job....ganon kabait ang sykes.....

maganda siguro kung habang nagaaply sa iba magapply din sa sykes...para if ever ala talaga tumangap, sakto lang after 1month tatawag na sykes...hehe.....

Then kinagabihan meron ngang tumawag sa kin pinababalik ako next morning... un pa la J.O. na... Un nga *** dapat kasi alam niyo i-assess *** sarili niyo after the screenings and exams kung dapat nga ba kyo matanggap?

Pero I agree na sana maging upfront na *** sila so not to keep your hopes up... But you can always call Sykes to follow-up the status of your application... Para naman ur not out of the loop about your current situation...

Remember kung maghihintay lang kyo ng walang ginagawa talagang walang mangyayari... *okay*

Hi I was one of the pioneers of the premierSERV account... became a helpdesk and eventually resigned (better pastures with a better telco) *okay*

as far as I can advise you, the premierSERV is a good account (technically) You will handle managed services for a legacy SBC account. Internet technologies such as Frame Relays, P2P, MPLS, MPLPPP, VPNs etc etc will be your support... other than that you will handle cisco RMA's if needed, the usual US telco procedures and escalations are also included...

working DSL support is good, as long as you have a good background with other technologies you'll be fine...

most of us who WERE in the premierSERV account then transferred to a real NOC support with another US telco

if you are after the technical troubleshooting, this is a good choice... but sadly, it is still a CC and your metrics will always be customer handling... and not the technical side of things...

been in the account for almost a year... I still know names who might be able to help or refer you to that account... :D

kalat na kalat na sa floor na hinaharang ni eric carcamo ang paglipat ng mga qwest agents sa ibang account.....ang dami na kasing agents from Qwest na naglipatan sa ibang account especially AT&T...ang swerte ng mga naunang nag apply kasi natanggap sila...pero yung mga recent applicants ...freeze ang application nila kasi hinarang nga ni Eric...ang taas kasi ng attrition rate ng Qwest at lalo pang tumaas ng biglang naglipatan yung ibang agents sa ibang accounts...

napaka lungkot naman ng balita if ever....lets face it...qwest is not the best technical account in sykes lalo na ng pumasok ang accenture...grabeee...yung q4b or qwest for the best lagi na lang binabago ang metrics halos buwan buwan pag marami ang nakaka meet.....

then this april may bago na namang metric...yung npd or non-productive dispatch....na mas malaki na ang percentage sa pmp mo...no wonder ang dami ng umaangal at naglilipatan sa ibang accounts....buti sana kung compensated ka gaya ng mayroong tech

Just this morning I received a computer generated message saying the I should go to OSMA bldg for an interview today. Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it since I still am at my current job and Phil. holidays do not apply since I'm assigned as an accounting assisntant for a UK account at a remittance company. My question is would they still entertain me if I go there on a different date? And how does the process go about? I hope it's not that excruciating that I have to go through many interviews and at the end they would say I'm not qualified?:confused:

grabe naman tong call center na to! oa ang security, daig pa airport.ok naman sa aking iwan yung cellphone sa guard kasi training. pero ito: nung lunch time na at kinukuha ko yung phone ko sa guard, ayaw ibigay, makukuha lang daw at the end of the day! over! nagtrabaho na ko sa call center na bank at di ganito kaOA ng security. to think na di naman financial account ko. Depende sa account, meron matagal, meron mabilis. Ako nun 3 months ang application ko, parang 1 interview per month, but sulit naman kse wala pang 30 days nun na-hire kami eh lipad na agad kami sa US.

Yung salary depende pa rin sa qualifications mo, position na napasok mo at account, may referral man or wala. Pwede ko kayo i-refer sa division namin, but I don't guarantee anything. Kung nakita ng HR na hindi enough your qualifications mo sa current opening, pwede ka nya irefer sa ibang account. PM nyo na lang ako kung gusto nyo magparefer.

may night diff po kahit contractual lang. saka nasa batas yun provided that you work between 10pm to 6am. baka ang pagkakaintindi nya sa night diff eh hazard pay (na meron lang pag naging probi na)

10k basic? alam ko, per day ang basis for contractual. yung time namin eh 550 ata.

no ot pay? meron po. ot yun eh. baka yung binabanggit dito eh yung other pay na makukuha ng non-contractual emp pag nag ot like ot allowance at additional ot transpo allowance.

lastly, 3 months talaga *** nakalagay sa contract for contractual. but of course, hindi nagtatapos diyan ang buhay ng agent sa account. it would still depend on the agent's performance if ma p-probi or not. yun nga lang, mas maganda pa rin kung probi ka agad. few accounts lang naman sa sykes na ang starting eh contractual.

kse minsan hindi available yung account manager na mag iinterview... minsan naman, yung client mismo ang mag-iinterview. Sa case ko, yung american ang nag-interview, dumaan lang sya dito sa Pilipinas for that, wala pa syang 24 hrs dito tapos bumalik sa US.

it depends din kung shortlist ka lang, sometimes if push comes to shove and malapit na ang training, they would just get the one from the shortlist. Pede na ika nga nila... :D

napaka lungkot naman ng balita if ever....lets face it...qwest is not the best technical account in sykes lalo na ng pumasok ang accenture...grabeee...yung q4b or qwest for the best lagi na lang binabago ang metrics halos buwan buwan pag marami ang nakaka meet.....

then this april may bago na namang metric...yung npd or non-productive dispatch....na mas malaki na ang percentage sa pmp mo...no wonder ang dami ng umaangal at naglilipatan sa ibang accounts....buti sana kung compensated ka gaya ng mayroong tech
allowance gaya sa kodak or ang planong tenured allowance ng at&t...sadly sa qwest walang acount specific allowance.....

I believe kahit na mahirap ang metrics kung compensated naman ang mga qwest agents eh walang lilipat sa ibang account or worse lilipat

It's a license needed to be a general securities representative (stock broker sa US). You need to have that license to take equity/brokerage related calls.

Tech agents can also apply for the tech/financial group pero may advantage kasi if you have a financial background. You would take the CEE licensing exam if you get hired (of course, there's training for this as well) *okay*

Kung pinag medical ka na at okay ang results, matatanggap ka na. Ngayon kasi una na ang medical, dati contract muna bago medical. Nagkaron kasi ng case na nagresign dahil di maganda ang health. E sayang ang oras ng account at mahirap maghanap ng taong right fit. Tapos may sakit pala.

MRS is better. It is a growing account. Trust me I know.

Both accounts are under AT&T group.

The account is challenging though, pero okay mga tao dyan.

I'm not sure sa ibang Teams sa Emerson pero sa Rosemount, Mondays to Fridays lang ang work. Yung mga teams na Back-office support, usually ang rest day kasabay ng rest day ng office na sinusupport nila. back office ang tawag pag di-direct customer ng Emerson or ng client ang support mo.

Pag holiday ng client, wala ka ring pasok. Kung holiday sa pinas pero may pasok ka, double pay ka (kung regular holiday).

Yes, Fresh grads are accepted (depende sa account). Yes, we also give transpo allowance depende kung gano ka kalayo (may limit yon).

Actually pede, kung referral ka. Usually pag nagrerefer kami sa Emerson, nakalagay kung anong exact team or opening, so sila yung priority. Kung may kilala ka sa loob, send him your resume and sya paghanapin mo ng account or team na swak sa background mo.

We didn't apply here just to get a job in a call center. We applied specifically for Emerson and we're doing technical back office support. Kung walang Emerson dito para sa mga Instrumentation Engineer, di kami papasok sa call center. We're just happy na may Emerson account dito kahit Sykes ang employer namin.

And note that we started back office at back office pa din kami. Pero meron na rin kaming direct customer phone support which is a specialist technical support.

You can apply online through jobstreet, or you can apply as walk-in during their open-house sessions. You may also submit your resume to somebody working already in Sykes as a referral.

from what I know, still the best and most technical AT&T account is still premierSERV (isosceles) project account... but that account's customer base is already moving into the MRS account ever since the merger... MRS only handles routers and very seldom you do line testing.. in premierSERV, the guys handle everything from line (T1, point to point, frac T1s, ISDNs etc etc), CPE (cisco, adtran, nortel etc etc) and configuration issues...

with regard to betty lafea's question if MRS is better than MIS? and MIS being toxic, i would have to say that both are challenging... it will really try your patience... hahaha! just be prepared to handle 50+ trouble tickets + a good number of calls every single day...

Here's the story...

Since I failed several times applying for an agent postion (CSR/TSR) in differerent call centers (I'm not really good in spoken and written english), I decided to apply first for a non-agent position in a call center, (so that I can practice while at the same time I have a job) and this is when I found out about Sykes. I saw an ad in Jobstreet that they are looking for a Facilities Assistants, and since I was a production staff for 3yrs and a maintenance technician for 2 years back in my previous job (Emerson Network Power / Astec Power Phils. Inc.), I applied for that position thinking that I have a high-chance of getting hired.

I applied thru Jobstreet, received an interview invitation after 2 days, then after the initial interview at Makati, the interviewer told me to wait at least 2 days for their call since they will be assessing first my resume. Exactly after 2 days, I've got a phone interview, at the end of our conversation, the interviewer instructed me to report at Ortigas to take the exams. After I passed the exams at Ortigas (exams that are given to all applicants regardless of position desired), I was scheduled for an interview (HR) the same day at 2pm. It is not yet 2pm, but the interviewer already called my name at past 1pm. At first, the flow of interview was good (common interview questions about my resume), but when the interviewer ask me about my expected salary, things started to get not so good...she can't believe that I would accept any amount not less than 10k. Then he asked me what kind of work am I expecting at Sykes. So I told her that I'll be the one doing or assisting with the overall maintenance, set-up, assembly or repair of all office or building equipment at Sykes. Then the looks on her eyes seemed like surprised with lots of confusion. Then she told "So you are expecting a hands-on troubleshooting?"..."have you not read the job description of what you are applying for?"....so I answered, Yes Ma'am! I'll be the one to do the actual installation and troubleshooting of all equipment / facilities related matters, and I have read and understand the job description of the position I am applying for....Then she asked me "what position are you applying for again"?...so I said "I am applying for a Facilities Assistant"....then she said, No! It says here (on her file) that you are applying for a Technical Support Engineer for Valves Account!....(wow! an Engineer! I'm not even good in math!.....)

Then after that, she left the room for a few minutes, then came back and told me, "so you don't want to apply anymore?" "No ma'am, I'm also very interested with that position" ( I explained her that it is really my goal to get that position someday and I don't want to loose this chance)...then she started asking about my willingness to have a training abroad, if I have a passport, If I have relatives abroad, if I can produce a clean NBI clearance....then she asked what do I know about ASCO - Valves. (I really don't know about ASCO, but I know something on FESTO solenoid valves) then she explained to me it's relation about about Emerson. Then, after that, she told me that she'll be endorsing me for the final interview with the account manager. She also gave a website link for ASCO and told me to familliarize on ASCO specifically about it's products - valves. The interview with the account manager is at 8pm. Since I need to wait for 6hrs, I decided first to go a computer shop to research about ASCO - Valves.

At first, the interview with the account manager went really well (as for me, he's very kind and accomodating, and we have a really nice conversation) may be due to the fact that we know what each one of us is talking about. (He's at Emerson/Astec for 7 years doing technical support thru phone, while I'm in Emerson/Astec for 5 years doing actual hands-on technical support). But when he asked me what do I know about Power Generators and Switching Devices, again, I'm not really familliar with those. So I told him that I was told that I'll be handling Valve account for ASCO, but he said, "Yes, it is ASCO but not the Valve account but a Power Generator account"...

To cut the story short (wahhhh! ang haba na pala!), buttom-line, I still failed and don't get that job. (kala ko talaga maha-hire nako huhu!) He said that I have a good qualification and work experience but he needs someone that already had a work experience in that field, also an Electrical/Mechanical Engineering graduate and not an Electronics Technology graduate. He said that he'll just contact me if ever he has a job opening that meets my qualifications.

I planned on returning to Sykes the next day to follow-up my application for a Facilities Assistant or maybe to apply as a CSR or TSR, but at the last minute, I change my mind and go first to Teletech where I was able to pass the final interview and medical exam. As of now I am still waiting for Teletech's call for the job offer. (huhu! sana tumawag na...)

I'll still consider Sykes a my employer in the event that I still don't have a job.....but I really hope to finally get this job at Teletech.

Tapos ang earliest shift starts at 5:00am the ends at 5:00pm latest so 5am-5pm lang ang pwedeng pagla lagyan ng 8 hours mo. parang very very early day job lang so you get to keep your social life! and make plans after like go to the gym after work not before. It's so conveniently early na iwas ka sa traffic and malamig pa on the way! Sana sana makuwa ako.

kalith., much better if you go there like monday to friday kse pag saturday very seasonal sila mag tanggap ng applicants plus today saturday wala sila ***** nasa subic lahat for their annual sykes picnic. anyway regarding TSP post sila ang hahanap ng account for you but of course if you have experience to those field u mentioned more likely dun ka nila ieendorse though hindi ka pa din sigurado kung matatanggap ka dun kse mag undergo ka pa ulit ng another interview for the account pag gusto ka nila dun ka lang nila kukunin. pag nag apply ka ilagay mo na TSP aapplyan mo.

-they also have hazard pays depending on how far your location to whichever site youll be assigned
- rice allowance, health bonus atc..
-HMO health card will be given on your 1st month
basta madami pang iba.. you can even earne the 12k in 1 cut off so meaning in a month you can earn 24k.
-there are also accounts that gives opportunity to go abroad for training.

Yup panalo benefits and extra's pag dating sa sykes! I agree. My frends are from other cc's. Higher nga ang base pay, peru umaabot ng 7k ang tax nila. Nauuwi din na halos magka presyo din ang paycheck ko pag swelduhan na sa mga sweldo nila.

Just a note : even Sykes admits na di sila malaki magpasweldo...peru people still stay...and just my personal observation, peru parang compared sa other CC's, where ive been, mas kaunti ang mga "@ss*****" dito. I think the HR really does attitude checks...i dont know...just an opinion.

since I started working with them.. 2004. been there 4 years now. technically its 30 SL and 30VL because if you have 10 SL and 10 VL unused those unused leaves will be carried over the next year. unless you converted your carry over leaves to sykes cafe thats the time youll get 20SL and 20VL. gets?.. mga taga sykes dito you should know that by heart.. just a heads up. I verified this thru VOICES back in 2005.

My own opinion I guess madali lang for newbie to get hired as long as you have the brains and you can express yourself in good english.. kahit hindi ka kagalingan sa english ok lang kse they dont really focus on that aspect.. basta marunong mag english na naiintindihan naman pwede na yun and syempre kailangn maipasa mo pati yung exam nila. Pag nag screen ng applicants ang Sykes they look for brains kse yung pronounciation and enunciation of words in english kaya pa mabago yun during training.
