hindi naman siguro. it varies on which account you belong to. ang core skills namin ay sa makati dahil dito talaga ang site namin, but may mga kasama din kami sa core skills na assigned sa k-point. pareho kami ng account, magkaiba lang ng site. Pagdating siguro ng product training/operations dun na mag-hihiwalay ng site.

depende nga sa account yun kaya di porke me picnic lahat nakakasama sa amin account namin ganun. sabi ko nga ke kahit pa 2-4x lang team building pagod lang hinahanap mo buti sana bibigyan ka ng ibang araw na doon gaganapin yung team building e hindi kukunin pa rin ang dayoff mo e di itulog mo na lang biyahe ka pa pauwi. iinom ka lang mag out of town ka pa. buti kung lenient ang client sa schedule hindi naman.

Oks ba ang IT position sa Sykes?
Nakareceive kasi ako ng call for Business System Analyst. Gusto ko yung positions since sa IT naman tagalaga ako at may experience na sa field na ito, pero medyo may doubt ako kung itutuloy ko. Kaya ba ng Sykes ang 60-70k for this position?
Sorry kung mayabang masyado yung tanong, kaso i am currently working in an IT company and my salary is close to that range kaya gusto ko malaman kung kaya ba. yun din ang unang impression ko since i came from cvg but come to think of it..mababawi mo naman lahat yan pagregular ka na. just for correction lnag..ako , nakuha ko health card ko at dependents ko after 1 month ko na sa company..with regards sa transpo at meal: fixed kasi sa cvg regardless malayo o malapit ang bahay mo but sa sykes iba..mas malayo bahay mo mas malaki transpo mo..and the meal allowance varies as well minsan pagmay mga holidays..iba pa un budget mo for meal and transpo dun..try to compute it dude..almost the same lang binibigay nila plus ito pa maganda..pag regular ka na din..u can enrol un mga sl/vl/meal allowances and have it converted to cash and use it when u want it..yun ang wala sa CVG:bop:

wala naman akong naririnig na di magandang asal ng trainers. well, to start of, nasa product training palang naman ako. masaya, depende na din sa wavemates, and rapport with the trainer. sa amin enjoy, nakasama pa nga namin sa inuman last night trainers namin eh.

Then they sent me to Makati for my account interview. After talking to the interviewer, she said that she liked me but there was no definite date of the training yet. And up to now (its been a week), I still haven't received a phone call. Is that their simple way of saying "you did not pass'? I have no idea how long I should wait for their call. Any suggestions/tips or anything? Thanks.

Oo nga e... Any advice kung saan pa maganda mag-apply? Nakakalito kasi sa dami ng mga negative about each call center. No call center experience pa kasi ako kaya CSR lang ang target ko. :(

wow. hindi ko pa nakukuha medicard ko. hehe anyway, sa tingin ko you should call HR first, para malaman nila *** issue and inform you what you will do next. kasi, if babaguhin ng medicard *** records mo, malamang they will forward it pa din sa HR. so might as well contact HR first. feeling ko lang. hehe malaki nga kaltas pag may dependents ka, kaya binura ko yung sa akin dati. pwede mo naman ilagay anytime *** dependents mo eh, sabihin mo lang sa medicard. :)

alam mo matagal ko na rin tinatanong sa sarili ko yan kung bakit kailangan computer science ang kinukuha nila sa mga tech accounts samantala me training naman yan ang sagot yan mga sigurista syempre magtatapon sila ng pera para gastusan ka tuturuan ka bibigyan ka ng allowance at kung ano anu pa depende rin sa ibang company siguro at least me technical know how.

I'm just wondering plano ko kasing subukan yung e-mail support sa sykes. Kaso medyo nako confuse ako sa process nila.

May kakilala kasi ako na taga Sykes at nasabi niya sa akin ang process nila. Pero malay ko kung nabago na since 2006 pa siya nag apply.

Anyway, sabi niya unang i interview sayo HR then tapos yung sa account na. Pero kung di ka makapasa sa interview ng account eh ihahanap ka ng ibang account. di talaga sigurado yun at depende na rin siguro kung me previous experience ka sa call center at kung gaano mo mapapabilib ang hr sa mga sagot na itatanong sa job interviews lahat naman ng aaplayan mo trabaho ganun kasi nga tinitignan nila kung saan ka dapat nararapat ilagay pero minsan di maiiwasan me pulitika din yan.

LEAP ka rin rigor? you probably know me. I'm one of the two guys who came from MCI. What was the name of the Indian Lady in our trainings? Ruchi ba yun? At sa OSMA pa di ba? It was such an honor being with a batch of really great and impressive peeps from other accounts. At hundreds pa ang nag apply di ba? Sadly, i was gone from the company faster than I can recite what LEAP stands for hehehe. It was for the best though, I'm here in Dubai now.

Anyways, SYKES is a great company. It was my first and my 3rd call center company (GULO noh?) It was first kasi I worked there first for 2 years then nagresign ako tapos nirehire ulit after about 2 years. Then resigned ulit. Great benefits like HMO, leaves (andami), party galore, etc. My account was MCI. Money was good but job security was something else. You can get terminated anytime for a lot of reasons (not that I'm saying na it was all their fault ha) but laging nasa hukay ang isang paa mo bago ka mag sign in to take calls. QA demands nothing but perfection to the point of absurdity and OA talaga. To tell you honestly, I wished when I came back to Sykes nag iba na lang ako ng account. Kaso nasilaw sa salapi. Hehehe.

i was a part of this prestigious company not so long ago..

unfortunately i was forced to resign because of personal priorities.

i didnt render 30 days of service which is highly emphasized in my contract, but i was able to have a completely signed clearance.

i wanted to work again in sykes so i ventured a reapplication at OSMAbut HR declined it coz upon checking my past record it was clearly manifested that i am INELIGIBLE to work due to immediate resignation without rendering 30 days of service.. but somehow she relieved my grief by telling me to go in my previous workplace which is at BCT makati and have my dispute recognized.

my questions are:

1.) is it possible that HR may alter that INELIGIBLE status to ELIGIBLE if i discuss it with them?

2.) do i need to undergone the usual recruitment process?

i wanted to work again in sykes so i ventured a reapplication at OSMAbut HR declined it coz upon checking my past record it was clearly manifested that i am INELIGIBLE to work due to immediate resignation without rendering 30 days of service.. but somehow she relieved my grief by telling me to go in my previous workplace which is at BCT makati and have my dispute recognized.

my questions are:

1.) is it possible that HR may alter that INELIGIBLE status to ELIGIBLE if i discuss it with them?

2.) do i need to undergone the usual recruitment process?

omg! we have the same exact issue with sykes. and bct was my site too. i tried EVERY possible way (open-house, jobfair, bring-a-friend, walk-in, jobstreet, over the phone.. as in everything) to get in "again" but unfortunately they wont rehire me anymore. and i dont think they will change any records that you have with them. i suggest you try to talk to your previous AM if he/she can do something about it. i never tried because my AM was the reason why i resigned in the first place.

took me more than a year of pursuing a career, again, in sykes but it didnt work out. i decided to give up and be with what I think is the next front runner. im now with cvg and i can say it's pretty ok. the culture is so-so but the ops floor is.. a FAIL. cost-cutting sila sa a/c and hardware. sad. isipin mo it's already 12 midnight and a/cs arent turned on yet. ancient PCs and super ancient avayas. nakakawalang gana talaga. parang gusto ko na lang tapusin yung bond then leave the company na. haay.

nde ko n lang sasabihin yung acount ko pero we moved to sitc while on-going ang construction way back 2007. para kang construction worker because yung entrance pa nun dti eh puro scaffoldings. haha. so mukha kang pumapasok sa construction site. yung account namin is well-known for laying off agents even before the big R happened, around mid 2007 pa lang parang bumubuhos ang agent na nawawala. client order yun. either you perfect ang csat or ligwak ka because the only passing score is a perfect grade. no less.

and add ko lang. it's really weird pero pati ako nde na din nag render ng full service. my 30-day service was shortened to 15 days and on my 4th day of service pinayagan na ako kahit 5 days lang daw tapusin ko. haha. gustong gusto na ako mawala ng AM. haha. oh well. i left sykes with a heavy heart kse alam ko pinaglaban ako ng team ko.

and yeah i agree na you should think twice before you leave sykes. pero agree din ako na nde na kasing prestigious ang sykes like before.

You can really bypass the 30-day notification before leaving your company. The term is immediate resignation which is mandated the Labor Code here in the Philippines. The reasons for such may vary. It all depends on how you deliver your cause.

But, but, but... this may highly impact your credibility the next time you apply for a job. (Specially when applying again in the same company)

i had my interview today at sykes, gilmore. im applying for technical support - networking post by the way im an IT grad. apparently the HR told me that they will still have to deliberate my application due to the fact that i was terminated from my previous job she also said that i was a fresh grad back then and that maybe i did take things for granted (and she's right). hmm... what are my chances of getting a call-back?

on the side note: i was completely honest during the interview and im confident to say i have no problems speaking in english during that time

"Congratulations" and I was in. But I was an internal hire, coming from another account so I'm not sure if that applies to you.

If I remember correctly, when I got accepted at my first account,
I was told that there would be a final interview and then a job offer.
But nothing really happened on the final interview... the girl just told
me something about the account and said the job offer signing will be next and left :lol:

work at at&t MIS is not somewhat networking its really ALL ABOUT networkng..and yes Licensed CCNA's is really an advantage...but the thing is youll be working with professional pipol..not end users..like mga net admin ****...and somtimes even the managers or CEO's..been there done that...pero it would be very fulfilling kpag nresolve mo *** prob and u get commendations from the clients...been with at&t MIS gilmore site..ol the pipol during my time there are great lalo management sobrang considerate sila and understanding...so gudluck guys!..i hope nkpagbigay ako ng idea on what will be your working environment kpag nasa MIS n ***...godbless...

training during my time was 1 week upskilling, 2 weeks coreskills, 2 weeks product training and 2-3 weeks nesting..but depends if fast learner ka they fast tracked you..like in my case...i think 11 kameng fact tracked the rest of the team is still on nesting when we hit the floor for full ops..our trainer that time was cool...tropa ****..but high standards..but good thing with r team was mostly my tech backgroud..during my time ok mga trainer..mbabaet ang super cool i just dont know now...ke my batch ko b4 mga TL's n sila eh..but over all i think youll enjoy the training...so gudluck!!..

I had a bad experience with an interviewer at the Burgundy site.

She is very disrespectful towards the applicants' statements/answers to her question. She does not make EYE CONTACT. She was looking DOWN at her paper, jotting down notes the WHOLE time, shaking her head slightly for disapproval WHILE the applicants are speaking, wearing an ohh so gorgeous POKER face, and the most annoying part was the "SARCASTIC smile with matching shook of her big head."

As I was at the middle of my statement, she made this "sarcastic smile with shook of head" while jotting down notes, without even looking at me, and I LITERALLY paused for a few seconds because of her reaction. I was thinking: "Did I say something wrong? I am only stating the freakin' school where I came from. What's with her reaction??!" She was very cold, sarcastic, disrespectful, and annoying.

I am willing to let it pass, but she did it again. and again. And to another applicant. (all co-applicants are interviewed the same time by unfortunately, HER.)

I mean, come on. I have gone through interviews, but this is the first time I encountered such. Couldn't you show an ounce of professionalism? If I went down to your level that time, I could have jumped off my comfy chair, and shrink my fingers thru your eyeballs, but no, because I am professional and learned some ethics in school. I just want to let people know because I don't want you ruining Sykes' good reputation. Because what you are doing is disrespecting the future applicants that want to grow and be a part of your company.

I don't care if you are the HEAD or the SENIOR of Sykes' HR team, I just want to let you know that, what you are doing, is wrong.

Similar issue.. Hired ako ng Mar 1 2004, then nag resign ng March 18. Contractual lang ako nun so not sure if same ang situation, but 3 days lang ata ang allowance ko bago magresign... Tinapos ko lang yung product training then alis na... na clear naman ako... Sept same year nag apply ulet ako... nakita agad ng HR na previous employee ako... sabi lang nya sakin naka 6 months na so pwede na... but back to zero so may exams ulet... ayun pumasa naman and till now nandito pa rin ako...

im also scheduled for expedia acct training...I've been hearing a lot about sykes giving out a lot of benefits but d basic pay they are offering is just 12k, will d allowances be able to compensate the low basic pay...with other call centers, they are offering 18k as basic pay ( w/ experience) plus allow around 3k plus nyt diff...totaling to a gross pay of around 24k...If sykes has a 12k basic pay, i doubt it the allowances will sum up to 8k or more....I need help guys!!! i need to make a decision....

I also had the very same negative experience regarding an interviewer in the Burgundy Towers Office of Sykes Asia Philippines just this morning. I had applied as a Core Skills Trainer in Sykes Asia through jobstreet.com and I received an interview invitation from the same website. As far as I know, the job wasn't an entry level job, since it required a year of training experience (which I didn't apparently have since I was a fresh graduate), but I decided to try my luck, and applied through jobstreet. I wasn't expecting to receive any call or interview invitation from the company since I fall short of the qualification, but to my surprise, I received an interview invitation shortly after I applied through jobstreet. I know that I was up for a very tough interview since I fall short of the qualification, and I know that I have to justify why I should be qualified, despite my shortcomings. So I did my homework, and thoroughly researched about the company, the position, the job itself, and "Core Skills Training" in Sykes as well.

I arrived early for the interview (which was 9am) in full business attire, and I was lucky enough to be the second applicant to arrive. I have handed the security guard my resume and the jobstreet email which I printed out, and waited for an hour and thirty minutes before I was called for the initial group interview of 6 people. This is where the story begins.

When I entered the room, this POKER-faced girl, with a very pale and big face wearing glasses asked us to sit down and immediately gave us questions. We were asked one by one to respond to her questions so that we may be assessed of our english speaking competencies. I was second to answer her question, and I answered her politely and confidently in straight english introducing myself and describing the post that I'm applying for. When she heard that I was applying for the Core Skills Trainer position, she immediately butted in and asked me for the job description of a Core Skills Trainer. I immediately responded by saying the complete job description, and the qualifications that go with it. She somewhat seemed to smile (sarcastically) and asked me about my understanding of what "Core Skills" in Sykes are. I gave her a brief description of Core Skills which I got from the Sykes website, mentioning all the modules that are included in that form of training. Modesty aside, I believe that even though I am a fresh graduate, the fact that I know something about Core Skills Training, and training per se, somewhat irritated her, which is very unprofessional, considering that she was a part of the HR Team. Just like the experience of the former PEXer which I quoted above, I believe that it was the first time that ever felt insulted by a RECRUITMENT ASSISTANT (read: ASSISTANT) of a CALL CENTER COMPANY. I know I could have received her so-called "constructive" criticism positively, but the only thing that I don't get is the condescending attitude which she had towards me throughout the interview process. I could have walked out of the interview room the moment that she raised her voice, but again, just like the previous poster, I AM A LEARNED INDIVIDUAL. I HAVE MY OWN SET OF GOOD VALUES. I GRADUATED FROM ONE OF THE BEST SCHOOLS HERE IN THE METRO WITH FLYING COLORS, AND I STUDIED FOR FOUR LONG YEARS DILIGENTLY IN MY SCHOOL NOT TO BE HUMILIATED BY A STUPID HR/RECRUITMENT ASSISTANT IN A CALL CENTER COMPANY. I know that this may be over reacting towards the situation, but I guess someone from SYKES who are also in this forum should know that what the STUPID interviewer is doing is WRONG, and it definitely gives a very bad and negative impression about the company. Fine, I fall short of the qualification for the post that I was applying for, but that doesn't give her the right to raise her voice to me and make me look stupid in front of other applicants. I could have accepted her remarks gracefully, so long that she gave them politely.

Geez, talk about BAD HR PRACTICE. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. There is a very thin line between being professional and being disrespectful, and this ASSISTANT's attitude was definitely leaning towards the disrespectful side.

Same issue sa Burgundy site, napaka unprofessional ng mga tao dun I was applying for a IT position and went there friday around 4 (galing pa ako work and 3 ang out ko dun) wen I got there sabi ng guard hanggang 4 *** daw and I should come back na *** daw. Come Monday bumalik ako 3:30 nag taxi na ako nun pero sabi wala na daw interviewer. Sorry for the bitter comment. I'm an AB Psychology grad, and hindi kami tinuruan sa school na maging masamang HR Practitioners. Sa lahat ng company na inapplyan ko, etong HR lang ng Sykes Burgundy ang bastos at walang modo sa mga applicants.

I also had the very same negative experience regarding an interviewer in the Burgundy Towers Office of Sykes Asia Philippines just this morning. I had applied as a Core Skills Trainer in Sykes Asia through jobstreet.com and I received an interview invitation from the same website. As far as I know, the job wasn't an entry level job, since it required a year of training experience (which I didn't apparently have since I was a fresh graduate), but I decided to try my luck, and applied through jobstreet. I wasn't expecting to receive any call or interview invitation from the company since I fall short of the qualification, but to my surprise, I received an interview invitation shortly after I applied through jobstreet. I know that I was up for a very tough interview since I fall short of the qualification, and I know that I have to justify why I should be qualified, despite my shortcomings. So I did my homework, and thoroughly researched about the company, the position, the job itself, and "Core Skills Training" in Sykes as well.

I arrived early for the interview (which was 9am) in full business attire, and I was lucky enough to be the second applicant to arrive. I have handed the security guard my resume and the jobstreet email which I printed out, and waited for an hour and thirty minutes before I was called for the initial group interview of 6 people. This is where the story begins.

When I entered the room, this POKER-faced girl, with a very pale and big face wearing glasses asked us to sit down and immediately gave us questions. We were asked one by one to respond to her questions so that we may be assessed of our english speaking competencies. I was second to answer her question, and I answered her politely and confidently in straight english introducing myself and describing the post that I'm applying for. When she heard that I was applying for the Core Skills Trainer position, she immediately butted in and asked me for the job description of a Core Skills Trainer. I immediately responded by saying the complete job description, and the qualifications that go with it. She somewhat seemed to smile (sarcastically) and asked me about my understanding of what "Core Skills" in Sykes are. I gave her a brief description of Core Skills which I got from the Sykes website, mentioning all the modules that are included in that form of training. Hi Tweester! Anu position mu jan.. May ask pala ako..kapag ba binigyan ng form for background check eh hindi ibig sabihin nun eh hired na? Kasi ang nangyari sakin sabi eh for background check ako syempre nagsubmit ako char ref ko. Pero ilan days na wala pa ako update while my other frend already got the offer so tumawag nako sa HR. Tas ang sabi sakin ng HR wala daw naendorsed sa kanila about my status. Then i emailed yung naginterview asakin na pinagsendan ko rin ng char ref...but unfortunately she told me..hindi daw ako qualified at hindi ko raw namit required skills. But I cant see any reason why kasi aside from that..I have my certification which will I think will give me a greater chance to pass. haaaay....nalalabuan lang talaga ko sa nangyari...
