I am soooo nervous. One minute I'm like, "Hurry up and call me, I want to start working!" and the next minute I'm like, "Don't call, don't call! I need to study and review some more!" I am never without my notes now!

Since the client is at the US, malamang tatawagan ako sa gitna ng gabi, so kailangan mag-aral ng mabuti para kahit tutulog-tulog ako alam ko yung isasagot ko. :D

Tumpak James Richard! They even have an e-mail support account with upselling for the MCI account. Batch 1 started around November. Sulit ang almost 3 months training sa MCI account. If you want to get back into that account James Richard, I suggest you contact one of your batchmates still in the account. They do have an employee referral program for the MCI account[I even saw the resume drop box and a memo on how to recruit people for that account addressed to MCI staff]. Ibalita mo na lang dito for any news. Employee referral program is a win-win situation for the company and staff. Kumita na ang staff, nakakuha pa ng dedicated and experienced recruit for the account. The recruit under an employe referral program is also briefed on the rigors and idiosyncracies of the account that a recruitment staff might not know and might find to be too tedious to explain .

Please help me or somehow advise me kung panu ang hiring process para at least alam ko kung saan na ako. Or if I should resign na sa current job ko and para makahanap na sila ng kapalit ko kung sakali.

emerson ka ba? what division in emerson? i was from emerson before.. sa case ko ang tagal tagal **** ng inantay ko as in.. usual na tinatanong? yung nsa resume mo.. they wud have u describe yer last job.. yung interview sa kin conference call from the client.. parang panel interview rin kase madami sila.. nka speaker phone pa nga.. parang nagbubulungan nga sila pero i didnt mind them.. wala namang mali or tamang sagot e.. theyre checking on yer confidence lang on how u cud handle the job being offered to u.. good luck..

Hello! Tama si tranquility, nde pa final interview yan, initial pa lang. You can call HR or whoever called you to have it rescheduled. I did it twice because I was sick the 1st time they called. Then I had it rescheduled again because I have no voice due to my cough. If you have valid reason to have it rescheduled, then do so. Just in case you had it rescheduled already and if they say that it's at 10pm, it cannot be changed kasi call center nga eh, you have to be flexible sa time nila. Plus, the one who will be interviewing you is only available that time. Also, bring another resume with you, nanghihingi kasi sila uli. Tpos wear smart casual, not necessarily business attire, basta wag jeans. Be professional para you can create an impression na interested ka to work there.

Just be yourself, and whatever is in your resume, yun ang kadalasang tinatanong sa initial interview. Kahit saan company, lahat ng initial interview laging ganoon. And think before you answer, do not show na hesitant ka sa sagot mo, kasi they are evaluating you if you're confident enough sa answers mo. Kasi what if client na kaharap mo di ba, pangit kung pati ikaw nde mo alam isasagot mo sa kanya.

As per previous posts from this thread, bawal daw kasi magbigay ng hints sa mga questions, basta always be prepared. Sit straight, look the person in the eye and look confident...

thats also indicated in my contract before.. explanation sa kin jan is that when the client terminates their contract with sykes goodbye na BUT yer still an employee of sykes and ililipat ka na *** ng ibang account if ever.. pitney bowes.. dapat jan ako na account nalate lang ako ng 1 min sa interview nagalit na yung account manager.. hehe.. so yung HR they endorsed me to a different account kaya napadpad ako ng emerson..

why don't you give a call to your local Site HR. Actually, AWOL is a terminable offense. You probably wont be getting your benefits (if you have) but my suggestion is that you should get your clearance so that you can get your separation pay (which should be composed of the days the you were in that didn't make the last cut-off). But to verify this - why dont you call your local site HR or get in touch with your Senior Comp&Ben Manager in OSM at local 9364. She works mornings (from 6am to 3pm), i believe.

I believe your contract states that you are co-terminus to the project or are a "project-based" employee. This is a business and legal way of saying that if PB suddenly goes on End-of-Life (EOL), Sykes is not "legally obligated" to keep you. However, as part of employee welfare - and the continuous need for agents, Sykes will simply transfer you out to another account considering there are openings. Nangyayari lang naman na EOL ka if wala ka nang account na pwedeng lipatan at mababa ang metrics mo. But considering ang daming accounts na may opening internally, once in a while lang nangyayari na an EOL agent does not have anywhere else to go.

Legally, a "contractual" agent is different from a "co-terminus" employment. Pag co-terminus ka, you will still get regularized and have the same benefits rendered to a regular employee. You will still receive all of the benefits stated in your contract. A contractual employee means that you have a SPECIFIC duration of employment in the contract (say 1 month to a maximum of 11 months - as per Labor Law) . Normally, may contractual sa support groups (like HR, IT, etc) should there be a need - pero sa operations lahat ng rank and file people are co-terminus to the project.

With regards to your medical history, if na detect ng Medicard (the Sykes sponsored pre-employment medical exam provider) that your sickness will be a detriment to the nature of the job, then you might be asked to explain why - worse thing is that you might not get regularized. But i dont think there is a need to worry - if your sickness is not that critical.

Just to tell you a story - i had one staff about 2 years ago that had this goiter problem that was reported by Medicard in his pre-employment exam. The recommendation was for him to get operated on. The department was even willing to shoulder part of the operation. However, because his family had some form of Buddhist belief that prevents them from being medically treated, i had no recourse but to severe his employment. His notice to explain even said: "my parents have talked to the gods and the belief is that i should not be operated on." because of the health risk that his growing goiter posed on his health, he had to be let go in accordance to pre-employment requirements.

base pay - depends on the account, depends on the employment status. you can either be contractual or probationary, again this will depend on the account that HR will endorse you to. 12,500 i think is the lowest for probationary employees. night differential is the standard 10%. sykes benefits are as follows: hazard pay (depending on the proximity of your home to the office), transportation allowance, upon regularization - meal/rice allowance, health bonus for perfect attendance. annual performance evaluation is in place after regularization.

i am formerly from sykes... madali ang exam... ang mahirap ang panel interview.... dress properly, magbaon ng maraming ingles, be presentable... i spent 4 years in this company with really good memories and there are memories too that i want to forget. but hey, it was fun though, so what can i say about sykes?

1. i had a boss and we called him the WHITE MANOBO. He says "approach" as if he is swatting a cockroach. His accent is so European-thick, you'd get the feeling that he's from the old Transyllvania. (Igor, the formula!)

2. it pays if you're best friend is with HR sometimes. Sometimes lang. HR is a bunch of powerful women-managers who have the ability to castrate wimp-men managers.

3. When IT or Facilities sends out the announcement on email to broadcast: please save your work. we are experiencing a weather pattern of lightning." -- i was totally in this dumb belief that there was a PATTERN to lightning!

4. The Global Summer Picnic is the place to go if you're a bikini-wearing girl knowing how to confidently flaunt your assets or if you're the sarcastic other who just wants to laugh at those who can't.

5. You'll get the TOUR OF LUZON if you have meetings at different sites in a single day -- RS, SMPC, OSM, BCT, ha , even KPOINTE. It's called cross-island hops if you can do Cebu too.

6. Park at your own risk. Ride the elevator at your own risk. Eat food stored in the pantry ref (obviously not yours) at your own risk.

7. You can wear bullet-proof vests and management won't mind, especially if you have a penchant for dating the unavailable. (ooops crude joke)

8. You'd know that when you're red-circled, it usually means that hey, they're not talking about a red whiteboard pen.

2. the recruitment is for pooling purposes only in preparation for an account that may / may not start in 2-3 months.

it does goes against the candidate's work time flexibility and adaptability should you state in your interview or application form that you're not willing to go do Sat-Sun work. however, if you have the ample experience and background to join a support group or an asia-pacific campaign / account, it can be made a consideration, but not necessarily a guarantee.

hi guys and gals of sykes...wow talaga...well kwento ko lang sa inyo ang aking experience...nagpasa ako ng application ko sa sykes nung 1st week of june...then the 2nd week na fone interview ako...then parang lose hope ko naghanap pa ako sa iba(ganon ugali ko apply lang ng apply) then on the 3rd week June 22 to be exact nagexam ako then after ng exam interview with MARSON(sa OSMA) then sabi nya punta ako kinabukasan sa k-pointe sa cubao mga 1pm to talk to MILAN...sa isip isip ko nun after with MARSON parang ayoko pumunta kasi malayo na nga masyado pero i give it a chance...so nainterview ako ni MILAN...tapos sabi nya tatawagan na lang ako...so again i lose hope nanaman...pero di ko akalain this 27 tatawagan ako for client interview for 28...so mga 7am ang client interview then pagkatapos nun nagpunta pa ako sa 1 call center to apply...habang nagfill-up ako ng application, mga 10am tumawag ang sykes and they told me that i got the job! and contract signing mga 5pm the same day...so masaya ako...pero tinuloy ko pa rin yung application ko...pero i failed the exam, sabi ko na lang sa sarili ko "SCREW THEM" kasi ang taas ng standards nila(no wonder madaming umaalis sa kanila) then i smiled and said to myself i got sykes naman :) kaya happy ako...then nagpunta ako for contract signing....kung sino yung mga kasama ko nung client interview, sila din yung mga kabatch ko ngayon...hay thank Lord talaga...meron pa nga akong kasabayan na galing ng sykes then umalis lumipat ng iba tapos bumalik ulit, so tinanong ko sya kung bakit gusto nya bumalik ng sykes, kahit pinaliwanag na nya, di ko pa rin magetz kung why would someone like to go back to sykes(maybe you could answer this question) tapos sa july 11 ang start ng training namin(san ba usually nagtraining) pero malamang after ng training sa cubao kami nito mapunta...

call center. if from erod ka lang, i think you can pass by hemady kse sort of perpendicular sya sa erod and aurora. when you hail down from LRT2 Gilmore station, sa baba lang daw yung building. Beside St. Paul QC sya.

Mahirap nga ba talaga yang mga exams na yan?? I mean if I really study hard for it, probably I would pass naman diba? Atsaka may background naman ako sa finance maskin papaano. Ano ba yung mahirap yung Series 7 or yung Series 63?

di ako sure sa mga tanong mo pre...tsr kasi ako and nagkasabay lang kami sa neo training, eh mga 2 or 6 months na ata sila training sa AEFA account kaya di ko masasagot tanong mo...1 thing for sure...di ka pwede petiks dun sa account na yun at kelangan magaral talaga...

Series 63 ang mas mahirap...kaya ang ideal candidate ng Sykes yung mga pumasa na sa mga local mutual funds and stock brokerage licensure exams....problema hirap sila mag-hire ng mga ganyang klaseng tao dahil mga mapipili na ang mga may license sa securities. Sinabihan ako ng OM that there would be times where I would have to study at home since the lectures are not complete or would not cover the topic in sufficient detail. 2 weeks stay sa US.

And probably another problem is that people who have that kind of qualifications would not go there and punish themselves in a night shift when they can work day shift in a bank.

yun series 7 yata yun mahirap. kse dun bumagsak yun iba kong mga nakasabay sa neo. 4 yata silang di pumasa, tas 2 under consideration. natanggap din naman un isa dun. buti yan may background ka sa finance. most of those who passed ksi na nakilala ko, may background sila. at shempre aral talaga sila.

Kaya ko kasi nasabi na mas mahirap yung series 63 dahil specific na ito sa stock brokerage know how[kung dating stock broker madali...nakakita na ako mg mga lectures dito]Even people with finance background will be culture-shocked by the Series 63 since these are "techy" front and back-office work unique to stock brokers...kaya ideal candidate may SEC license as stockbroker/dealer.


...unlike the series 7 which is a fundamental know-how on the whole securities industry[like the Philippines Revised Securities Act-RSA].

After doing day-shift work for investment houses doing retail and institutional sales, research, settlements and speculating on the stock market...I was shocked by the 18 months straight graveyard shift for the account though I am a licensed stockbroker/dealer and find the exams rather easy.

One thing that I like with that account at Sykes...no non-compete clause!

Baliktad tayo, ako wala pang experience sa mga investment houses. Pero I was a trader for a bank pero we concentrated more on fixed income securities (money market and bonds). Pero for me I will use this experience in a call center to upgrade my position in the bank in the future. Baliktad tayo. Ikaw nangaling ka na don kaya definitely ayaw mo na bumalik dito.
