NAg-apply ako sa sykes, galing ako convergys (TSR), aral me sa UP DIL. Katakot-takot na panel interview na inabot ko, 4 na, pang-lima yung mamaya. Siguro, I would have appreciated the process have I been given an overview of what to expect (that there will be series of interviews, this is a pass of fail process, etc). Pang lima ko na interview yung phonepatch later.

Bago ako ininterview nung expat (4th interview), sinabihan ba naman ako ng HR na "Bring ur resume". NYek, katakot-takot na nainterview, sabay bring ur resume. Nawindang ako dun. Para saan yung mga things that they have jotted down, observations and all.

Nung ininterview ako nung expat, parang walang point. Kasi parang he just want a face to match with the name. He was offering a position, entirely diff. from what I was oriented. I was told to highlight my CRM experience, database management and business tools (yun sabi HR)

Tapos ang parting shots "If we pursue with this venture, Sykes will give you a call". Buwisit, parang brush-off na hindi mo malaman. So tinawagan ako kagabi 12:30 ng madaling araw nung taga-Sykes for a phone patch interview. Ay sumabog na talaga ako sa kaalimpungatan! Tinanung ko na lahat. IS this your usual process because I have gone through series of interviews? What position am I Being considered for? Is that an existing account because the client was mentioning a totrally different thing. Wa na ako pakialam kung matanggap o hindi, impt. nasabi ko ang piece ko. WAhaha. Yung mga kasama ko din ininterview ganun din pakiramdam.

Sykes is not any other call center na kpag pumunta ka ng 9am at pagdating ng 5pm eh pasado kana, then 7pm pipirmahan mu na *** contract... it may take days or even weeks.. depende yan sa account, if you fail, they will try to see if you can fit into other accounts and keep an open mind if you really want to be part of the Company. Remember, you are the one who's looking for a job, its not that i'm implying na ndi ka kailangan but the thing is, keep it cool... patience wins the race... besides kung ayaw mu.. feel free to cancel or pull out your application...

Ang point ko is katulad ng nabanggit ko, hindi ako nabigyan ng heads-up on what to expect. Alam kong hindi to express lane, pero katulad ng sinumang customer, hindi ka naman naiinis dahil mahaba, because you dont know the rationale behind all the steps. At mula sa isang step papunta sa susunod, hindi ko nakikita ang continuity, dahil iba-iba ang mga sinasabi nila at tinutukoy na mga account.

Katuld ng 5th interview ko kanina, (pinost ko na rin to sa kabilang thread), na tinanung ako nung Manager na Kano (sa tunog nya, Kano), "So Gem, do you know/understand the nature of the job", Ang sabi ko "Yes, when _____ interviewed me he told me that yada yada yada", tapos ang sagot niya, "Oh, he must be confused", tapos ibang-iba dun sa sinabi sa 4th interview, 2nd o third.

Siyempre maaasar ka. KAsi ang mindset ko habang pahaba ng pahaba ang process, lalo ka na gu-guide o naliliwanagan kung ano ba talaga to, pero sa dating aba, parang skew lines talaga na hindi magtugma.

So ulit ang point ko, una, hindi man lang ako nabigyan ng heads-up on what to expect, so lagi kang cluesless kung una ang rationale nung mga bagay na to. So hindi ko naapreciate yung process. Walang tinalo sa nagtotroubleshoot klayo na pag di ko sinabi sa customer na kailangan niyo gawin to at gawin to, hindi mo na set and expectations niya, mabubuwisit yung customer, sisigawan ka, sasabihin sayo..."WE'VE BEEN DOING THIS FOR THE LAST 30 MINUTES, and I DON't UNDERSTAND WHAT WE'RE DOING HERE

Siguro kasi dun sa training sa US. Ang alam ko kasi ite-train ka for a particular database software. Pero sabi ko nga yun lang ang gusto ko dun, other than that wala na. Yun kasi ang minarket ng maigi sa akin nung interviewer, yung training daw. Na hindi ko naman makukuha sa convergys.

I just took the exam yesterday. I think that was for AT&T Cisco account in Gilmore. Gosh... Sumabog utak ko. http://forum.hkgolden.com/faces/donno.gif Tatlong set ang exam ko sa technical and it almost took me 2 hours to finish them!! Hopping? CSU/ DSU? I say what!?!? hhehe... Siguro dahil pang level 2 na ang exam na yun kasi yung nga kasama ko, isang set lang.

Ok ang HR sa kanila. Malayong malayo compared mo sa E-Care & Convergys. Orientation kaagad sa background ng company ang sinabi ng nagpa exam sa amin. Saya!

Madali lang ang exam sa Sykes ! Pag aralan mo grammar- verb agreement... basta madali lang... Wag ka lang bbgsak sa first exam ..... tapos after that pag interview naman.... dapat magaling ang communication skills mo... iyan ang basehan ng mga team manager at team leader... tapos ang alam ko ang hrd naman go for ur "looks",,,, ( sabi nila yon ha !)... KAYA ASTIG SA SYKES... MGA GUAPINGS AT MAGAGANDA ang mga erep dyan....... heeee..

Guys, help me naman. I passed the final interview kahapon. Job offer agad ako. Pinapapili ako kung Router or T1 account ang gusto ko. Sinabihan na ako na mahirap talaga ang support sa router and 30 tech support lang kami dito all in all. Elite daw sabi ng interviewer ang mga napipili dito :lol: Here's the problem, start agad ang training ko sa Monday which is also my training with DynaTec!! Akala ko kasi hindi na ako papasa sa Dyna kaya nag Sykes muna ako... parehas akong pumasa as level 2. Sykes is almost 1 1/2 hours away from our house, whereas Dyna is just 20 mins drive. Sykes mas mahirap ang support pero sa Dyna is VOIP lang which is not that competitive, I think. May training kasi ng Cisco sa Sykes pero ang layo lang kasi sa amin. Hirap lang kasi kapag graveyard. Now, kapag in-accept ko naman ang T1 account, in the next two weeks pa yun mag i-istart pero hindi na yata parehas ang support. Iniisip ko lang na sayang ang opportunity kapag hindi ko tinanggap yung router account and training sa Sykes pero parang nalalayuan talaga ako. I need to have an answer na tomorrow kasi tatawag na ulit ang HR kung saang account ako.

What do you think? Dynatec, which is just a new player in the call center industry which only handles VOIP account or should I go to Sykes which is farther and will give me headaches from my call but better oprortunity in technical training? I see so nakuha ka rin pala sa sykes at dynatec! goodluck on your endeavor. cisco rin hawak ng dynatec me future naman talaga sa sykes. mas extensive kung sa sykes ka magtraining I don't know about dynatec puro link2 galing yung mga iba maski trainers but i definitely think you have the edge kung dynatec ka mukhang matindi experience mo sa technical.

Second if that company agrees na w/in one month ka pa papasok, u assure urself na IN ka na sa kanila.. Give them a time frame na papasok ka... Within this win win solution ka, makaka pag decided ka pa kung saan ka talaga ... kuya...

Hey! Nahirapan ako sa pag decide pero I took Sykes pa rin. Sa Gilmore ang branch ko. Start na kami ng Product Training for MRS account. Natatakot na nga ako dahil wala naman akong background sa Cisco Networking. Pero the good thing, lahat ng mga superiors mo sobrang supportive and motivated kami. ;) So far so good naman... daming nagsasabi, mataas daw talaga ang sweldo nila per cut kahit hindi pa sila regular. Dahil yata sa allowances yun na non-taxable? Correct me if I'm wrong.

All entry-level TSE's have the same basic. You will get additional technical pay if you are doing a more specialized work that is really inclined to your degree. Some people in my team has this.

usually kasi, mahirap kukmuha ng part time.. shifting kasi ang sched, mahirap mg adjust.. mas gusto nila ang full time.. kahit undergrad ka lang..

Just to give you some insights on how a TL's position in Sykes works... The TL is the lowest level in the administration/managerial bracket. We, as agents, fall under the "Agents" (I forgot the term) category... If you attended the Voices last August or September, I think, you should have known this. For us agents, there is the CSR, then senior CSR, TSR, then goes up to Senior Technical Support Engineer... so far, TSE pa lang me eh, hehehe... :D

Anyway, ang point here, is that the TL is just administrative and managerial. Although he may do the work of the agents, it doesn't mean that they are also required to do them. So, the TL's are not realy that have to be as skilled as the agents, though he must be (as he is the TL). In fact, there are TL's of other accounts that are taken from other accounts, or just hired from outside. TL's are more of administrative, and not of as agents. They are not required to do auto-in as most of us do. Our client is still here in the Philippines, and when he presented the organizational structure of our work, I don't see the name of my TL, meaning in their perspective, he is not employed, or not required to share workload, but in the BPO side (Sykes), he is the TL, lead of the team--- the person to be escalated with problems, if they arise.... :)

YES... Their divisions are also okay because of the office-type setup environment in Sykes. It is more likely that you will feel that you are in an office rather than from a call center. This account is very good for Engineers for specific degrees who want to be on the vendor side of the engineering/construction industry. It also has a division for financial department, so you can also look for that one. I tell you that the E accounts are very technical, very engineering type.... If you want to move to a career path in the "vendor" side of manufacturing industry while benefiting from compensation of the call centers, you may really want to consider those accounts. I, for one, is from an account under E...

There is much needed TSE's for E... Compensation is very good, trust me on this one, you'll think reviewing what you've learned in your school (Engineering) if you learn the compensation for Technical Support Engineers... :bop:

YES... Their divisions are also okay because of the office-type setup environment in Sykes. It is more likely that you will feel that you are in an office rather than from a call center. This account is very good for Engineers for specific degrees who want to be on the vendor side of the engineering/construction industry. It also has a division for financial department, so you can also look for that one. I tell you that the E accounts are very technical, very engineering type.... If you want to move to a career path in the "vendor" side of manufacturing industry while benefiting from compensation of the call centers, you may really want to consider those accounts. I, for one, is from an account under E...

There is much needed TSE's for E... Compensation is very good, trust me on this one, you'll think reviewing what you've learned in your school (Engineering) if you learn the compensation for Technical Support Engineers... :bop:

All that I can say is ... sinayang ng friend mo ang opportunity. Technical Support Engineer is one of the highest entry-level positions in Sykes, as far as agent-ranking is concerned. Ang ganda ng compensation sana ng TSE. Trust me. All new TSE's have the same basic and benefits. I think your friend is offered in Emerson?

If you will notice the new ad from Sykes and Emerson, most of the positions are TSE... because they are needing a person who graduated from a specific position, meaning the basic would include the technical allowance itself. Trust me on this one, maganda ang offer ng Sykes for TSE. Benta ako ng benta, siyempre isa ako dun.. hehehe

She told me that she will just "call me", and that she will forward my resume to the appropriate account and the operations group (I expressed my interest in the graphic artist position). In spite of the fact that they will not be able to give me the salary I want (which falls under the engineering bracket), I still said that I will consider other positions.

So, will they really "call me" or is this "sorry, we don't like you"? I have no call center experience - -but in terms of what they are looking for (academic background, english proficiency) - - I think I pretty much meet the requirements...

they may call you.. i know a friend who was contacted a few weeks after her interview.. they are really looking for an account that matches your qualifications....

basic salary would depend on the account the employees (agents) are in...
support tech support, basic salary ranges from 12K - 22K++... then they received generous allowance...

when i started, my basic was 15K, allowance was more than 6K... roughly 10K per 15 days... not bad for a fresh grad.

DOES THIS MEANS HE DIDNT QUALIFY?OR IS IT THE NORMAL PROCEDURE AT SYKES? i have to say that my friend has a good command of the english language...
