hmm.... that's what i've been told too. pero di ata, may final step pa yung teleconference sa US. My friend who applied with Sykes-Emerson went through a six step process. He's just waiting for the feedback and (JO)? hehehe.

I am considered for Emerson Financials. Malaki sueldo ata sa Emerson account sabi ng mga friends ko sa loob. =)

dickie, how long is the waiting period before sykes makes the job offer? kasi, i have a pending job offer with citigroup. i told them that i'll think about it until friday next week. they have this 1 year training bond worth 100K. since i'm just new in the call center industry, i wouldn't want to be stuck with them if i don't like being an agent .

that's why i wanna work with sykes because they have no bond. i'll get the feel of the call center environment then decide later if i'll pursue a career there.

I don't know, a week or two maybe. Depends on the need really. I suggest just go through the actual process and choose later. Emerson Account I've heard is more of an office set up, hindi sya call center na sasagot ng inquiries so go figure. Btw, if you're sent by Emerson outside the country meron din bond.

fyi, some SYKES accounts have bonds some do not.
bonds range from one to two years or peso/dollar amounts

FYI too, going abroad doesn't mean you'll stay there for months, ala Accenture employees. From what I know (specifically with the Emerson accounts) - - - they send you for a few weeks (3 weeks?) for training. Plus, I think your Visa is limited (I'm not sure if it's a J visa limited to the state/region your training will be in). Yeah, it sounds good, but to me...ah, no comment :)

The "office setup" in Emerson everybody is talking about is true - - in space planning terms =P But people still handle queries, answer calls, make phone calls, etc. Don't be fooled. Sure you have your own cubicle/corner, but that doesn't mean you're not wearing a headset and pressing your CallMasters...LOL. Unless of course you end up in a chat support accout :P

To ones who just want to try the call center industry, I must say, Sykes is a good choice because it's a stable call center where in you are not required to stay with them for months (I survived less than 5 months..hated it tho because the industry is not my cup of tea :P) Training is OK and pay and benifits is well, bearable. If you're already in the industry and LOVE IT and intend to stay there, good for you - - think of going to Sykes. But, if you're trying it out and you expect to learn and grow as an individual (and keep your grey matter) - - errr....Caveat!

hi iv3son! easy lang ang online exam. you should prepare more for the inetrviews. some underwent panel inetrviews and client interviews as well. be confident and be mindful of your grammar. good luck!

i don't think very high ang standards ng sykes... as long as you're confident in speaking kahit medyo wrong grammar, they'll be considerate. the're very good in training their new hires kaya you'll improve eventually.

So far, sa HR ng sykes ako walang masasabi, meaning maayos. Magkaproblem ka man, just file a case and most likely sa next cut-off ksama na.

Although how I wish, Sykes would start re-aligning the Job Grade Level that has been imposed a couple of years ago.

To think that in Accenture CC, they're offering around 17k for csrs/tsrs wherein they have the same account na katulad dito sa Sykes KPT.

Nevertheless, dito p rin ako... umaasa sa Sykes Asia, Inc. wahehehe besides, i've only been here for 1yr and 2mos... para sa akin, masaya ako dito!

Ang mga AT&T, majority ng accounts nasa Gillmore (Kpointe), meron ding few accounts sa OSMA, but the best accts are in Kpointe. Very technical and mas mataas ang pay kesa Qwest.

Pag AT&T TSP, 15k ang starting while in QWEST, 12k (this is all just BASIC SALARY). Of corz, nandyan din ang 10% nite diff, hazard pay (depends on where you live, min is 100/day), rice allowance, etc etc. Pag 6th month, may increase (ako mine was 18.75%, max is 20%).

Astig ang mga AT&T accounts, matututo ka ng CISCO and NORTEL routers. Pag umalis ka dito, pwede kang lumaban ng sabayan sa mga CCNA sa labas.

Anyway, try nyo magapply ** ...

Medyo nag-iimbestiga lang ako kasi for my "special project" on DSL asccounts outsourced in the Philippines. Sige keep them flowing!

Yes, they do have. Its MSN. Kaya lang sobrang baba ng offer. Though kung malayo ka from Makati malaki naman hazard pay mo. I declined the offer. Imagine, 11,+++.++.

Hindi naman ganun kasama ang Qwest pero ok na rin siya compared to my
former ISP which is Earthlink! May kababaan man ang starting which is 12k unlike Earthlink/West which is 14k eh mas masaya naman ako kesa sa former work ko. Mas mabait ang mga tao at very accomodating mga tl and sme here at 2 weeks pa lang naman naging toxic ang work kasi may 2 call centers na nagsara sa states kaya dito na route ang mga calls. Pero believe me sobrang petix ng work here! Ive been on the floor since May at on the average 20 calls lang ang narereceive namin per shift pinakamadami na ang 30. At ang pinakamasaya sa lahat I can browse as long as I want! Proof is I'm making a post here in my own station! Unlike sa West na kelangan mo pa mag internet sa pantry, dito kahit sa station mo pwede kang mag browse. Kaya eto, pa pex pex na lang ako:} tapos na kasi ang shift ko. For an experienced agent nakakadismaya talaga ang 12k na starting for Qwest/Sykes considering na ka level mo lang ang mga mga fresh grads. I rejected the offers of 16k for Bellsouth/Convergys at 18K Verizon Online/ACS
to be with Qwest/Sykes kasi nga dream ko na before to be with Sykes.

And I dont regret it, kasi I made the right decision! Oo sa una , medyo dissapointed ka considering that I have an outbound experience also so I'm used to a higher net pay. There are times pa nga na pag wala kang hazard pay halos kalahati ng net pay ko sa outbound eh net pay ko na sa Qwest! Pero ang hindi mo siguro kayang i quantify ay ang satisfaction mo from work.

Its funny kasi mag 3 years na ako sa call center sa March next year pero now lang ako naka experience ng agent satisfaction. Kung may customer satisfaction I believe meron din agent satisfaction and I would give my present account a 90%.I'm very proud na 8 months na ako sa Qwest pero wala pa akong absent kahit isa unlike sa Earthlink/West na umabot ako ng 1 year pero meron akong absent lagi every cut-off. It only shows na interesado
ako at satisfied sa work unlike before sa West na lagi akong tinatamad or bored kaya ayaw kong pumasok. Here at Qwest, I always look forward to work. And being a call center hopper, I'm hoping na ito na ang last ko!:} Having been with Telecenter, VXI, West,Sitel ,ICT and Teletech before, I hope I would grow with Sykes and achieve my dreams careerwise.

Is there no one to answer calls for employee verification or background check? I'm sure your HR department does background check as part of the recruitment process as well... let me just share my experience with you guys.

I've been doing ref check for God knows how long now even from my previous companies... our standard is to talk to the supes, or to the HR in the absence of the supe to know more about our applicants and verify all the information they have shared during their application process. When I called supes from your company, they mentioned that they cannot entertain the call simply because the HRD had instructed them not to, and that background checks should be directed to HR. Fine, I have no problems with that, it's your company policy so I did just that.

And so I called 8178781 then dialled 1 for HR, 4 for employee verification. NO ONE HAS BEEN ANSWERING MY CALLS. I've been attempting to reach the department for three straight days and all I got is your on hold music and a prompt "Your call is important to us, please stay on the line and we'll get back to you as soon as an operator is available."

It's just so frustrating to waste time being put on queue. And to think that we are in the customer service industry... you can't provide the simplest of help to your former employees or employees seeking other opportunities. Imposible namang nag-iisa lang yung gumagawa ng verification nyo.

I talked to my former colleagues in HR from my previous company and they had the same unfortunate experience with you guys when it comes to conducting ref check. I understand that you may be busy, but I really hope something can be done because this experience doesn't speak well of your team. Yun lang.

wow!same situation tayo last april 2006. pareho rin ang start ng training ko sa sykes and etel. mas pinili ko sa sykes kasi start na ng
core skills ko at probationary employee agad ako with a salary unlike sa etel na 5 days language training sa libis tapos allowance lang.at di ka pa siguradong makapasok kasi pag bagsak ka sa language training bagsak ka na talaga at di ka na pwede ma endorse sa account. so bakit pa ako makikipagsapalan kaya sykes ang pinili ko.

di naman ako nagsisisi kasi maganda naman ang situation ko ngayon.
noong una medyo dissapointed lang ako kasi ang baba ng starting
12K lang considering 2 years na exp ko at 16K ang previous basic ko.
at ka level ko lang mga fresh grads. kaya nakipagsapalaran din ako
at I think may napala naman ako.Call center hopper ako at actually
pang 7th call center ko na ang sykes! Eversince napasok ako sa Sykes di na ako bumibili ng Manila Bulletin tuwing linggo and that means something kasi na ako tumitingin sa classified ads para maghanap ulit ng susunod na call center.

Based on experience, masaya naman dito at mababait ang mga tao
at wala naman akong nakikitang pulitika na kadalasang inaangal ng mga tao sa call centers.actually ilang beses na akong nahuhuli ng TL

nagenjoy sa concert ng parokya at pati pagkain ay mabubusog ka dahil pwedeng pabalik balik at catered ito ng Mandarin Oriental Hotel Manila kaya sosyal at pang hotel ang dating. Madaming binigay na prize at syempre pinakamasaya ang nanalo ng Toyota Vios pero sa tingin ko mas masaya ang nanalo sa mga hindi naka attend ng xmas party kasi trip to USA or Canada. Saan ka nakakita ng call center na dalawa ang raffle prize sa xmas party ? sa mga umattend ng xmas party toyota vios, sa mga hindi naka attend ng xmas party kasi may pasok sila , may sarili din silang pa raffle at ang first prize eh trip to
USA or Canada.

Sa umpisa, mababa lang talaga ang net pay mo lalo na kung walang
hazard pay. minsan aabot lang ng 6k at kung nasanay ka sa mataas
na net pay every payday syempre maninibago ka. pero konting tiis
pag naregular ka at masipag ka sa OT eh rewarded ka naman. naaaliw nga ako sa work ko now kasi minsan pag walang queue feeling ko nasa internet cafe lang ako kasi browse lang ng browse pero binbayaran ka pa. pero pag may queue pagod ka talaga pero ganyan naman ang buhay sa call center. pero at least every payday
ay masaya ka naman gaya ko kasi sa lahat ng napasukan kong call
center ngayon lang ako nagkaka netpay ng 10k every payday. not bad kasi may internet access ako eh adik talaga ako sa internet.ang
saya saya ko last december kasi almost 50K ang net pay ko kasi ang
daming legal holiday, tapos madami din akong OT may vacation leave
conversion, tax refund, 13th month pay pa.sa tingin ko 10k per payday is not bad considering im an OFW before and at least kasama
mo ang family mo. Careerwise, may growth din naman dito kasi every
week nag popost ang HR ng ibat ibang position kaya kung qualified ka
pwede kang mag apply for a higher position.

Ano pang hinihintay mo join ka na dito malay mo pareho pa tayo ng acct at sabay tayong mag post dito sa PEX habang nasa station.hahahahahaha....tinuturuan na kitang maging pasaway agad..basta dito ka na kasi masaya dito.

If I were you, go with sykes, just think... in a call center industry agents come and go, but ask yourself why is it that there are agents staying with sykes for 5 or 6 years or even more, ponder on that...

wow!same situation tayo last april 2006. pareho rin ang start ng training ko sa sykes and etel. mas pinili ko sa sykes kasi start na ng
core skills ko at probationary employee agad ako with a salary unlike sa etel na 5 days language training sa libis tapos allowance lang.at di ka pa siguradong makapasok kasi pag bagsak ka sa language training bagsak ka na talaga at di ka na pwede ma endorse sa account. so bakit pa ako makikipagsapalan kaya sykes ang pinili ko.

di naman ako nagsisisi kasi maganda naman ang situation ko ngayon.
noong una medyo dissapointed lang ako kasi ang baba ng starting
12K lang considering 2 years na exp ko at 16K ang previous basic ko.
at ka level ko lang mga fresh grads. kaya nakipagsapalaran din ako
at I think may napala naman ako.Call center hopper ako at actually
pang 7th call center ko na ang sykes! Eversince napasok ako sa Sykes di na ako bumibili ng Manila Bulletin tuwing linggo and that means something kasi na ako tumitingin sa classified ads para maghanap ulit ng susunod na call center.

Based on experience, masaya naman dito at mababait ang mga tao
at wala naman akong nakikitang pulitika na kadalasang inaangal ng mga tao sa call centers.actually ilang beses na akong nahuhuli ng TL

small to someone like me who used to earn in $$$ but what
the heck im enjoying my job now.balak ko nga ulit mag abroad last year pero nag iba ang plano ko kasi meron din naman growth dito kahit di ka mag abroad. I also worked before as an engineer and I plan to go abroad again pero mas nag enjoy na ako dito sa Sykes. Hindi naman forever eh agent ka na lang kaya naghahanap ka rin ng growth. Im planning to apply here sa Emerson account as a Technical Support Engineer. Emerson is one of the world's biggest engineering company and one the most admired companies according
to Fortune magazine. I plan to apply to any of their accounts like motors, intrumentation and transmission. Technical talaga siya and you will have access to the latest technology and have the chance
to deal with different engineers from all over the world like USA, Europe and Asia. Kaya sa tingin ko career talaga siya at magagamit mo ang pinagaralan or license mo at di ka mastuck sa pagiging agent.

nope.. hindi bukas ang HR ng Saturday and Sunday.. we are not like other call centers naman na nahihirapan to recruit people.. People are coming to us.. hindi sa pagyayabang.. pero we are a lot way better compare sa ibang call center companies.. in all aspect that I could think of...

the best thing here is you're like working at your home... basta.. iba... try to experience it... and we have the lowest attrition rate.. that shows how satisfied we are in Sykes.. although syempre merong konti na may reklamo.. pero compare sa ibang reklamo sa ibang companies.. haayy... im really staying here for good.. unless I will be offered by others ng 100,000 pesos basic salary.. hehehehe..
