a friend works there, it really depends on what job u have landed or what team. but some of them had professional growth, id just dont know about the others.

shifting (sched changes every 2 weeks: 6a-2p, 2p-10p, 10p-6a. most of the time you can't choose your sched), lotsa overtime, college-y environment, evaluation based on your qualitative output.

personally, it's not something you'd want to do long-term. there isn't much room for professional growth like what the person before me posted. if you're looking for something to do while you're waiting for better opportunities, i guess sykes would be okay.

plus, no pex. that's a bummer too.

sykes is recently hiring real estate/technical consultants. i could qualify for the job. kaya lang, i'd just like to ask what's their usual starting salary for this position.

i am not certain how much they are offering for that particular position, but starting salaries here vary depending on a lot of things. one of which is your experience in call centers or in a field related to the position you are applying in. the usual salary range is from 10K-12K.

IMHO, aptitude tests are like entrance exams...you can't really study for it. it's more of what you already know and how you handle "problems". in interviews, think carefully of what you say. but relax also. be honest. if they give you a typing exam, the usual requirement is at least 30 words per minute. i'm not very sure about their qualifications for part-timers. :)

san ka ba? makati o ortigas? depends on where your interview will be and on who will be interviewing you. business attire is a must. althoug mas lenient ng konti if you're working already. but still smart casual or business casual pa rin. minsan kasi may clients na dumarating. well, have fun on your interview! :D

i passed the test(makati )!!,,i was also interviewed na they were offering me to take the technical support engineer position,but problem is part-time lang me puede coz i still have class e,i dunno if i could do that full time,bka after 3mos,pa...mabilis lang actually interview they told me theyd call back.....uh how come yung iba may interview the next day na agad..does this mean im not considered?????

congrats! well...i can't answer that query now. i'm based in ortigas, so, nasa ortigas contacts ko. another thing is that i'm on leave. i'm in baguio right now. but if they say that you passed and that they will call you, they will. if after 5 days, they don't call, you may call them to follow-up. :D

hi there peeps!! I just signed a contract last Sept 1 sa sykes as a tech support engr. in a new dept. sa burgundy tower and my training will start on the 15th. Just wanna ask kung kaya nyo pa bang gumawa ng ibang activities after your shift specially pag graveyard ka? Im working out kasi e but i dont know if how stressful ang graveyard shift. Post **** kyo rgarding **, thnx!!!!

Ako, GY shift for more than 3 years. Here's a tip, you need to sleep at least 5-6 hours and take vitamins. I get off at 6am, sleep around 12 or 1pm. I get to do regular stuff around 7-12, but it depends if hey ask you to render OT.

it's a private gym of my high school buddy in cainta. i'm more on weights, need to add get some poundage in my sort of deformed frame, i used to look like the letter B before.

btw, may iba pa bang food outlet near burgundy pwera sa mcdo? i heard there are a lot of those ghost stories there.

i eat sa canteen nila sa 6th flr.... 24 hours naman dun e and in fairness masarap din food nila. My friend told me too about the ghost stories pero *** pa naman me nararamdaman so far. but probably next week coz night shift na kme. hehehehe

buti pa dyan 24/7 canteen, buti di ka nag-canteen sa SMPC sa 2/F.

may pic yung friend ko when they had their training, dunno if it's authentic, hanapin ko yung pic dude.

Honestly, my agents do receive something around 12 or maybe more depending on performance. As we say "the rewards outweighs the challenges."

Spadia, you can access pex if you're using a sykes network pc. But if you are using a client's netwrok then there's no way. Ask your team lead if you can use their pc's on break time. They usually have access.

set your network to proxy config to 14.36 instead of 14.4
tapos use ip address to get in pex http://207.44.234.62/~admin1/forums/
in proxy 14.4 the ip is blocked...but not with 14.36 :)

I think HR is going on-line when it comes to job applications as well, that means all applicants must be in their database first before they call people up for testing. Walk-ins are still accepted but they must input their personal details in the PCs at the 28/F in Makati so that the walk-in applicants will be in their database. That's what I heard lately, pero try nyo na rin baka mas mabilis kayo tawagan.

yup they do have performance metrics, but that would depend on the account you are assigned to, and it's possible your basic can increase by 20%, which will rely heavily on your performance and attitude.

what i like in sykes, is the camaraderie you and your teammates will learn thru out the training. para kang nasa school uli, kasi sila lagi kasama mo. the experience is great, especially pag ok members ng team mo.

im very lucky to have great teammates, were support each other in anyway we can, and we always make it a point to have fun.

ei makoy, i started as a contractual at sykes. after 3 months became a proby then a regular employee na.

just do good while you're still a contractual and a proby then in no time you'll be a regular employee na rin. also, pray that your account will thrive so that they'll need more agents. minsan kasi even if you're doing a great job but if your account is overstaffed, slim ang chance na mapo-proby ka.

hi... may tanong lang po. I took an exam sa sykes and luckily, I passed it. Tapos I had my initial interview right after. Sabi expect a call within a week pero di pa sila tumatawag almost 2 weeks na. :( Sabi nung friend ko, ganun daw yun, naka-3 exam na sya puro initial interview lang tapos di na tumatawag. Pede daw i-follow up yun kasi baka natabunan na yung application ko sa dami ng nag-apply and may referral program yata sila ngayon kaya inuuna yung may mga kakilala sa sa loob kasi may incentives. Hindi ko naman matandaan yung name nung unang HR na tumawag sa akin and nagschedule ng exam sa akin para i-follow up yung application dahil yun daw ang may hawak. Dapat pa ba akong umasa? Waaah... :(

yes some peeps are right this isnt the job that wil last forever. no career growth... just come to think of this... per account.. lets say 1000 agents-- not everybody will be a tl or account manager.. and sobrang nakakabored especially if you dont receive much calls and emails.(like in my previous account - nadissolve) so back to zero.. kahit mareregular ka na.. mauudlot pa!

but the advantage is the $$$. they paygood compared to other professional job. hndi kami nagstart sa minimum wage.

but wala tlagang career growth.. un lang.... now im starting to apply for a job na and im goin to resign very soon.
