Think fast! Name a comic, novel, cartoon, etc. which you'd like to see turned into a feature-length film. Then give your cast of characters and the actors/actresses you want to protray those characters.
Ex: Batman The Dark Knight Returns
Batman- Cliont Eastwood
Robin- Natalie Portman
Ellen Yindel-
Joker- Jack Nicholson
Superman- Dean Cain (Christopher Reeves sana)
Jim Gordon-
Mutant Boss- CGI
Make your own, or replace mine. I just wanna see your opinions.

Superman: Dean Cain (NEVER NICK CAGE)
Lois Lane: Sandra Bullock
Jimmy Olsen: Jay from Kevin Smith's filcks
(BUT NO SNOTCHIE BOOTCHIES)
Perry White: They guy from the TV show
Lex Luthor: Gene Hackman or Patrick Stewart
(Stewart has the bald look)
Doomsday: CGI
Cyborg: Dean Cain
Eradicator: Tough choice...
Superboy: Whoever'd make a good punk kid
Steal: Shaq O'Neal or even better, Ving Rhames
Then there are all the extras during the funeral.... and the JLA. But I'd never cast those guys in that HBO movie.

Hey Diyos and Jacob! I've got an idea of my own...
The Sandman (purely hypothetical, of course!)
Wynona Ryder: Death
David Bowie: Morpheus (remember "Labyrinth"?)
Glenn Close (just dye her hair): Desire
Despair: CGI
Destruction: anybody big, with a beard
This would be an interesting movie, considering that David Bowie's English aloofness and haughtiness would go well with Ryder's childish banter. And Glenn Close would make a very good antagonist...just as she was in "The Paper". Personally, I'd like to see Minnie Driver as one of the human characters...she's got this Gaiman-esque quality to her.

Yes, Minnie Driver does have that quality, but I can't stand her. Did you see her performance in Tarzan?! Yetch!!!

I have a certin bias with anime. I never cast an anime movie, because I love the art. and samurai movies should stay Japanese.

I know they've got a movie in the works, but here's my casting for The Lord of the Rings:
The Hobbits: Frodo & Co.--I'm sure the Muppeteers and ILM can cook something interesting.
Aragorn: Alec Baldwin
Grima Wormtongue: the bad guy in Fargo---the one with the crooked teeth.
Faramir: Sam Neill
Boromir: any action actor
Legolas: Maybe the guy who played the human "Casper" in the most recent production. Or maybe even James Van Der Beek
Galadriel: Robin Wright/Michelle Pfeiffer
I don't have any idea whom to cast as Elrond, though.

I deliberated about where to put this and decided to place it here instead of starting a new topic.
Here is the cast of the upcoming X-Men movie - not my choices mind you but the actual choices by the film's director and producer:
Director: Bryan Singer (Usual Suspects)
Professor X: Patrick Stewart
Storm: Halle Berry
Magneto: Ian McKellen (Gods and Monsters)
Mystique: Rebecca Romjin-Stamos (SI swimsuit model and top supermodel)
Jean Grey: Famke Janssen (Goldeneye)
Rogue: Anna Paquin (The Piano)
Wolverine: Dougray Scott (Ever After)
Toad: Ray Park (Darth Maul in Episode 1)
The role of Cyclops has yet to be cast. Shooting is starting next month and the movie will hit theaters next year.

Batang Uliran: cool! that's another movie to look forward to...I just hope they don't mangle the entire thing. Patrick Stewart as Prof X, huh? It figures.

I was hoping they'd put Robert DeNiro for Wolvie. He's old, and he act a tough guy. Problem is... Wolvie's a runt, i.e. short.
Anyway.....
Battle Chasers The Movie
Garrison: Tom Cruise
Gully: Child Search
Knolan: some old guy
Calibretto: CGI
King Vaneer: James Woods (SLEEEEEZY)
Clavius: James Vander Beek
Red Monika: Cindy Crawford or Angelica Bridges (NAME ME MORE REDHEADS!)
Brass Demur: AH-nold Schwartzeneger
August: Clint Eastwood
Maestro: Shang Tsung from Mk (either TV or film)
Aramus: some big red-head gu with a beard. batsa BRAWN, with some skill.
Proiblem is, I do not know any other critical characters. Like Ep 1, this will be mostly CGI, since this is of the techno-fantasy genre of the Final Fantasy Series. Muy only problem is Madureira's art, which define 99% of Battle Chasers. My primary choice would be to animate it using his art style but above is my cast for a live-action version.
And I thought they got Sarah Michelle Gehllar for Rogue? Anna Paquin is too young and DOES NOT have the Rogue's southern accent
Why not:
Rogue: Courtney Cox
Magneto: Christopher Lambert

I think Anna Paquin would do fine. Saw her pretty much grown up in this teen comedy She's All that. Regarding the accent, don't think that would be much of a problem as many of these actors and actresses are able to do good accents just fine.
Ian Mckellan would probably be ok as well and though Lambert would have been a fine though younger Magneto.
De Niro I think would be too old to play Wolverine.

The entire point of putting De Niro as Logan is really Wolvie's age. He has had memories dating back to World War 2. His age is also another reason why he can't stand being under one-eyed boy scouts.

I agree that he's had a wealth of experience - he and Maverick and Sabretooth go back to that elite unit they were all a part of - but my guess is that his healing factor prevents all those years from showing! He definitely doesn't look that old in the comic books.
Diyos ng Kamatayan
Aug 15, 1999, 09:08 PM
Bingo, BU! but can he pull of the tough guy routine? Ray Park is short enough to play Wolvie, just dubb his voice with the voice-actor from the X-Men cartoon of Fox.
Now for my Natalie Portman, Rachel Leigh Cook dream project:
Gen 13 the movie (Live action)
Fairchild: Natalie Portman (just dye her hair; she'd look good as a red-head)
Freefall: Rachel Leigh Cook (purple contacts and purple dye)
Grunge: Jason Scott Lee
Burnout: Some chick attracting, blond w/ short hair
Rainmaker: Tia Carrere or
Lynch: Clint Eastwood
Threshold:So hard to think..... (maybe some chick-attracting blonde w/ long hair)
Bliss: Carmen Electra or Cindy Crawford
Ivana: Carrie Ann Moss Famke Jansen or Angelica Huston
All that's left is to keep the story as close to the comic book mini-series as possible. Also remove the shots w/ the women's half-ripped clothes.
Problem: J. Scott Campbell's & jim Lee's art won't be in it.

Hey DNK, you're forgetting that Caitlin is well over 6 feet and full figured so Natalie Portman is a no go! That part calls for more like a Letitia Casta or Rebecca Romjin-Stamos.

DAMN! There goes the dream..... Thanks a lot, BU.... I keep forgeting Campbell sticks a lot of T&A shots in his works. Time to revise the character sketches a bit to fit her in.....

Still cooking up mine. In the meantime, any other takers?

Have you read Arnold Arre's MYTHOLOGY CLASS under Alamat Comics? The UP'ers can really relate to that. I think that would make a neat mini-series.
For something foreign, I always have thought Sierra On-Line's Leisure Suit Larry would be neat... or maybe King's Quest.
