Well, kahit gusto ko si Claudine as an actress and a tv personality... i will admit na minsan hindi niya carry ang damit niya. The truth is... I don't think mahilig siya sa clothes (I mean she's not into fashion like Jolina and other celebrities)... I saw in a tv news program before that Marjorie is the one that gives her advice on what to wear... coz she's not real particular with clothes. So I guess kung hindi mo hilig... paano ka mag e-excel?
Hindi rin naman siya palaging awkward mag damit... one example is the Christmas presentation of Talent Center where she sang with Judy Ann and Kristine... she looked great in that dress).

In my opinion... Claudine is a versatile actress (she has really grown), admirable when it comes to handling her career and personal life. She's beautiful in all aspects (I used to think Gretchen was prettier, pero ngayon naiirita ako sa kaartehan niya tuloy parang nakakabawas sa beauty niya). Naku... I can go on and on, pero my point is Claudine Barretto is Claudine Barretto (that's what Roderick always says on MTB during Hula Bira... hehe)!!!

Honestly, I never had problems w/ what Claudine wears. It's not too pa-showbiz. I just didn't like the clothes she wore in some of her movies like Radio Romance, Mangarap Ka, Pare Ko, those had to go! With Jolina, I use to like her but she dresses too much like a kid. Her cutesy clothes are getting old. She needs a new style.

I pointed out that she is more than that because she has talent and brains... but I didn't wanna explain it because I already replied in the other thread that you were talking about. Yes, she may not be an overly articulate speaker (if that's what you call having brains) but she is one smart lady. She manages her household (including the budget), she knows where to invest her money, she balances career and personal life well, she advises Rico on the advertising aspects of his businesses (he says she's good in marketing), and even if she didn't finish her formal education she is a well-read person.

And correction... you do need brains to be an actress... as Eric Quizon once put it... Claudine is a good actress because she knows how to think.

girl, im in the broadcast industry.. and when you are surrounded by people who work with her 24/7, 7 days a week (ahem, calling the production crew of her d@mn st*pid show...) you'll know khet untimong pinag-awayan ni claudine at ni rico!!!!!!

Life goes on for soap opera princess Claudine Barretto amid nasty rumors that continue to hound her over the death of former boyfriend Rico Yan two weeks ago.

After a 4-day hiatus in Hong Kong with sisters Marjorie and Gretchen, the young actress immediately suited up for the taping of her telenovela shown daily on primetime slot in a television network.

"She's back to work...although she has not yet fully recovered." Marjorie said in an interview.

Marjorie, also a popular showbiz personality and wife to comedian and Caloocan City councilor Dennis Padilla, said Yan's death and the buzz that have been spreading portraying Claudine as "the bad person" have taken their toll on her sister who is now down to 90 pounds.

But she said the Barretto family has decided against holding a press conference expected to air Claudine's side, a turnaround of Marjorie and Gretchen's earlier aggressive stance in defending their beleaguered sister.

"We decided not to hold a press conference anymore, but she'll give her statement but no longer in the intriga manner, but to clarify matters....Let's put this issue to rest because it's unfair..... had it been Claudine who died, would she be the good person, and Rico the bad one? Both of them are good persons, Marjorie added.

Marjorie dismissed reports they are "publicity-hungry" in grumbling about being eased out during the wake and burial of Yan.

"We don't need publicity...The accusations are unfair....we are not even talking yet for them to say we're publicity-hungry. But I don't care anymore what they want to say. I will continue to defend Claudine against nasty rumors because she's my sister," she said.

The young couple has parted ways "about three weeks" before Yan's death, ending a 4-year relationship, according to Marjorie.

"But you don't lose that love of 4 years in 3 weeks," she said, adding her sister suffered "too much" because of Yan's death.

She also appealed to the public to stop circulating gossips about Claudine, saying: "She has nothing to do with Rico's death....he did not die of a broken heart."

"gravida=2 para=0"... in lay man's term, conceived or pregnant twice but no birth took place... pwedeng due to miscarriage or abortion.

As an actress , very good si claudine sa drama at si jolina naman sa comedy , can't compare them kasi magkaiba.

As sa kagandahan , both are beautiful pero mas maakit si claudine

As a role model , jolina is better , next si juday at last si claudine. bad reputation ang family ni claudine at siya na rin co'z nag-drugs siya , nag-estacy , nag-palaglag...etc. if you didn't do anything wrong , walang rumours na lalabas , like kay jolina at juday , diba puro intriga lang sa lovelife at walang ibang bad rumours like kay claudine.

One thing i like with Claudine Barretto, she has this ability to put herself in the place of another person and be able to see life through her eyes and her emotions and for that i can say she's an effective young actress. For instance, if you are a gentle person by nature and were called upon to play the part of a vicious killer, you would have to suppress your natural instincts and become - on stage, behind a microphone or before the cameras - something which you are not. This talent distances mediocre players from great actors. Some well known personalities have become typecast because of their dislike of being hated by their public due to the character of the people that they portray. This is d advantage of Claudine 2 her contemporaries. She's one of d very few young actresses of today who can play a wide range of characters.....

Claudine Barretto has all the traits of a Superstar. She has the aura, flexibility and intensity of Maricel Soriano and Vilma Santos.....

Well, I don't know. I have never been a fan of Claudine and not even a fan until now. In fact, I just realized na I am not a fan of any artist. :lol: I have not even watched a pay-for tagalog movie for 20 years. I just thought I shouldn't judge Claudine because I do not know her personally. I do not know how she thinks, what she is thinking, how she feels, and I do not know her motives. It would be unfair to judge her without knowing those things. A lot has been written on every tabloid and magazines but we do not know if they are true or not. Do we want other people to judge us based on these things? I give her the benefit of the doubt because of that. A person is innocent until proven guilty. Besides, even God never judge us while we are still alive, why should we judge other people then? That is the kind of truth that I can accept.

My Mom once told me during the height of Rico-Claudine brouhaha.. she said ang dinadaanan daw ngayon ni Claudine ay dinaanan na ng mga naunang artista sa kanya like Vilma Santos and Maricel Soriano. The two respected actresses came out as winners and id believe that Claudine is also a winner.....Siguro, it's the price of being famous... may kapalit ....at isa na doon yung mga problemang hinde common sa tulad nating mga ordinary person lang.....

In my personal opinion, kailangan si Claudine ng movie industry. Mga ganyang tipo ng artista ang makakapagpabalik sa sigla na matagal ng nawala dahil sa kagagawan ng mga mediocre na personalidad sa movie industry.

I think most of us agree that Rico loved Claudine. But when Claudine was taken out of the picture by discrediting her, Rico was discredited big time. Granting that all the rumors about Claudine are true such as the abortion issues, the bugbugan issue that some people would like to think was the handiwork of the Barrettos, the Yans not liking her, her alleged affair with Raymart, etc, etc, still Rico loved her. Even up to the last minute, Rico asked her to join him in Palawan. If we would think about it, in spite of everything, Rico wanted to be with her.

The wonder of Rico was not that he was sikat, not even that he was someone who could easily help other people nor because he was a good son. The wonder of Rico was that he was capable of loving unconditionally. And the object of that love is someone people see as unworthy. How many of us can say we are capable of unconditional love? And how many of us can say that we were loved or are being loved unconditionally? Rico must have seen something in Claudine that’s why he loved her this much. Many people just can’t see that.

I have the chance to watch the Pipol last night and I could say Claudine is still in grief. Hirap pa rin siyang ngumiti andun pa rin yung pain pero understandable but at least she's trying to move on.

With regards to the Yes magazine, I haven't read that one yet though I must say based on the previous posts here I guez I agree with them. There is still another side of the story and the truth of the story, well Rico and Claudine are the ones know the real story. And I think it would be much better if we will just leave those things with them. After all, Rico is now gone and Claudine is still in the process of healing. What matters most is that there is a "real love."

Rico did love Claudine not because she is like this or like that. But he loved her because of who she is. As what his friends noted that up to the last moment of Rico, he really loves and cares for Claudine.

I believed it would be much better to see the positive side of their love story. It is somewhat special and inspirational.

THE UNTOLD STORY: Rico and Claudine Love as Tragedy

Rico Yan and Claudine Barretto were the perfect picture of a young, handsome, romantic couple when, in December, YES! sought them out for a cover story. They were then in Batulao, Batangas for the wedding scene of Got 2 Believe-the movie that would turn out to be their last together-and they were very game. All through the hurried 15 minute pictorial, they freely chose their poses and, with no prodding at all, teases, touched and cuddled before the camera.

Just days before, interviewed in seperate dressing rooms, Rico at "Magandang Tanghali Bayan" and Claudine at "Home Along Da Riles," their replies had likewise painted a picture of them as a couple brink of a long, even permanent, relationship.

Asked at the time how long he thought the magic might last for them, Rico had replied: "Forever, I hope... if there's a thing as magic lasting forever."
And Claudine, for her part, had said: "I hope long. I pray na sana kami na."

All the signs said the two young stars were, indeed, in the thick of a romance. After all, they had been sweethearts four years running, as they themselves announced so openly, and looked poised to go on for as many more. Thus, when Rico and Claudine landed on the cover of the YES! January-February 2002 issue, we dared title the piece: "A True Romance."

Little did we know that their relationship had already been much distressed before that by tiring quarrels, long silences, and quick jealousies, with the big breakup happening in November, or weeks before they dropped all those sweet words of Love. Neither did we know that it was not until after Christmas that the two kissed and made up.

What we know is that they celebrated March 4 with an anniversary dinner that began with some promises but ended in much ugliness. By the next morning, their romance was over. There was talk that Claudine, whom insiders describe as "lukring" and "selosa," was jealous of Stephanie Zubiri, younger sister to Congressman Miguel Zubiri, Rico's close friend and business partner in Tequilla Joe's. But the Congressman would pooh-pooh any romance between his sister and the 26 years old Rico. "She's only 17!" he'd say on TV. At the same time, a close friend of Stephanie's at the International School would volunteer: "Steph is still with her boyfriend Martin De Guzman, and she and Rico are just good family friends."

Then there was the big buzz, mainly from Claudine loyalists, that she had foundout about a girl whom Rico was supposed to have gotten pregnant after an affair that began at the Advertising Congress in Cebu in November. But Dominic Ochoa, a Rico loyalist, adamantly denies the "girl from Cebu" rumor. "Wala, wala, sa akin kayo maniwala. Ako ang kasama niyan araw-araw!" Asked recently if Rico had other girls durin the time he was with Cluadine, Dominic was even more emphatic: "Not totoo. I could attest to that. Mamatay man ako ngayon. Mamatay na ako ngayon!"

Talk among disinterested parties is in truth, that Rico was no saint. Like all male stars, he was given the eye- and he liked giving it back. In out-of-town trips especially, the fellow was vulnerable, and he didn't mind terribly that he was so. The "Cebu girl," they say, was a one-night stand.

And to a one they all say: "MAHAL NI RICO SI CLAUDINE."

In fact, they say, Rico's fervent wish was that one day his family, especially his mother, would learn to accept Claudine. But, in their last year together, Rico confided to a non-showbiz friend, Claudine seemed strangely bent on making a case between him and every other girl.

Rico said Claudine had made an issue even of Patricia Sandejas, his La-Salle girlfriend of four years back. An irritated Rico was supposed to have snapped" "Pati ba naman siya, pinagseselosan mo pa?" The same friend also said that Rico, over the last months, had grown suspicious about Claudine's motives. He'd begun to feel that Claudine was deliberately raking up imagined jealousies to provoke a fight with him to cover a dalliance she herself was starting with someone else.

That someone, Rico eventually confided, was Raymart Santiago.

THE MARCH 4-5 FIGHT

March 4, as all their fans know, was the day of Claudine's and Rico's fourth anniversary, and for the occasion the two celebrated with a dinner at Ciudad Fernandina. It was in that same dinner, however, that the two would begin the now-infamous row that would, in just couple of hours, write finish to their four-year romance.

No one can tell for sure what triggered it.

Some say a very angry Claudine confronted Rico about a private investigator whom he had reportedly hired to sniff out whether she and Raymart were not only dating but also going steady. Some say Rico confronted her about threatening text messages ("sasapakin kita! makakatikim ka!") he had been strongly suspected was Raymart. Still some say it was because Claudine took a call on her cell from Raymart in front of Rico.

Whether any or all or none of these was the trigger, what was clear was that the fight began to turn really ugly as the night wore on. All the way back from Ciudad Fernandina to the LPL Tower nearby where Claudine lived, they were fighting.

Two weeks later that fight would be leaked to a tabloid, and another four days later, to a national daily. No one's owned up to the leak, but the general impression had been that the leak had to come from Caludine's camp.

The reason being that the write-ups were unrepentantly pro-Claudine and anti-Rico. They plainly set up Claudine as the virtuous girlftiend wrongly accused ("Raymart is...the barkada of Claudine's brother-in-law Dennis Padilla, they're both on the GMA sitcom 'Kool Ka Lang.' So every time the grupo, also including Claudine's Ate Marjorie-Dennis' wife-would have a gimmick they bring Claudine along to console her") and Rico as the irrational boyfriend with a violent streak ("Rico slapped Claudine and tried to bump her head on the elevator wall").

Nowhere in the write-ups was Claudine ever made to say just how the fight turn so ugly-and with a guy she'd just said in an interview "would make a perfect husband and perfect father." If Rico did lose it, take him to task, but we'd like to know just why. Otherwise, we'd have to buy the idea that he was simply a bad seed, period.

Moreover, immediately following the negative write-ups, talk grew louder that Claudine was threatening to file charges pf physical abuse against him. At the time of his death, that threat remained.

If Rico hadn't died, showbiz observers suggest, his free fall might've been jump-started by those write-ups, even as Claudine, at the opposite end, might've found a jumping board for her image as underdog.

TALK AROUND LPL

After news of the fight leaked, a resident of LPL discloses that she went looking for the building guards.

She recounts: "Tinanong ko, 'Totoo ba 'yun? Nagkasuntukan ba?' 'Hindi ho.' Wala silang alam na may nagkasuntukan. They heard quarreling. Sabi ng guard nagkabatuhan ng kandila sa unit."

Indeed there was a fight and it ended with Rico and Claudine proceeding to nearby Cardinal Santos Hospital on Wilson Street, Greenhills.

A doctor there, who requests anonymity, said to YES! in an April 7 interview: "They came 30 minutes apart. He was seen for bruises for the hand. He hit a closet, sabi nya doon sa ER (Emergency Room) personnel. I think he got mad, he hit a closet. Halos wala, small bruises lang on one hand. Afterward, he was sent home."

The doctor, an internal medicine specialist, added: "Claudine was seen for a bruise on the forehead, According to her, she just got pushed around... That's how it went."

However a little buzz coming from ABS-CBN, the two stars' mother studio , was that Claudine had a picture of her bruises and that Olive Lamasan has seen the pictures. Claudine was supposes to have stitches in her hand. That none of these pictures have surfaced may due to one of two things: the studio's damage-control efforts were working overtime or the pictures never existed.

Rico's friends engineered some buzz themselves. A boutique owner and good friend said she went out of her way to investigate. Her findings, she says, were that, yes, there was an "away na violent" between the two and that it was witnessed by an LPL guard.

But, she swears, her search revealed it was Claudine who was "hitting Rico" and not the other way around, which can explain the cuts in her hand, if any. She continues, "Rico was bowing his head, cowering." But a point came when Rico pushed Claudine away, hard. He ended up raising his hand, she concludes, but he didn't hit her, "he hit the wall."

WHAT DOMINIC KNOWS

Eleven days after Rico's death, Dominic recounts what he knows about the fight.

He begins: "I went home around 12 midnight. So that's when Rico called, around 1:30, sa bahay ko... First time tumawag sa akin 'yon ng ganung oras, asking for company. Hindi siya nagpumilit, ako ang nagpumilit na puntahan siya. I knew something was wrong 'coz he was crying."

He recalls their conversation.

Rico: "Dude,pare,nasaan Ka?"
Dominic: "Sa bahay obviously, dito ka tumawag sa bahay ko. Tampalin kita. Why, what's the proble,?"
Rico: "I'm walking. I'm in Club Filipino pa. I'm in...papunta na ako sa bahay ko." (Rico lived at State 300 Condominium, P. Guevarra Street, San Juan.)
Dominic: "Bakit ka naglalakad?"
Rico: "Wala akong kotse ngayon. Nagpahatid lang ako dito."
Dominic: "Let me put down the phone first and let me pick you up."
Rico: "Don't, don't. Hindi, okay lang. Don't, don't, Dom. Huwag ka na, okay na. I could handle myself"

In the end, Dominic rushed from Merville Subdivision, where he lived, to Greenhills. "Naabutan ko...nasa Cardinal na, naglalakad... He was worried. Sinakay ko na."
He continues, "Ang problem daw eh sinuntok nya 'yung wall sa pintuan ni Claudine. Siyempre, hindi mo kayang saktan 'yung tao. Naghahanap ka ng bagay kung saan mo mare-release. Typical lalaki, 'di ba?"

Finally: "'Di nakita ko na may dugo. So, dinala ko 'ng Cardinal. After that sabi ko, 'Dude, I'll stay with you first. Come on, let's go to Peninsula. Let's go somewhere else. Tara, sagot kita.' After n'un, we went to Whistlestop. We had a few drinks. Pina X-ray namin ang kamy niya, okay na."

CLAUDINE & RAYMART

The buzz surrounding Claudine and Raymart started as a hum. The staff of "Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan," the ABS-CBN soap starring Claudine, have only now started to reveal that Raymart Santiago was, indeed, visiting Claudine on the set of the soap long before the breakup with Rico. More precisely, he was dropping in on Claudine during the time she and Rico were still filming Got 2 Believe.

Which, in a stable relationship, really shouldn't ring alarm bells.

Except that theirs, it turned out, was far from stable, except that Raymart in Claudine's orbit was precisely what was eating Rico, and except that every time Rico made Raymart an issue, he was accused of messing things up to cover his own flirtations.

Marjorie Barretto, interviewed via phone patch by Inday Badiday for DZMM's "Careful, Careful", said as much: "Wag nilang baligtarin ang kapatid ko! Walang third party kay Claudine. Si Rico ang may tinatagong girlfriend sa Cebu."

Elsewhere, the hum was getting stronger: Claudine was spotted here and there with Raymart. She was admitting to nothing, and still has not, but latter-day explanations from Marjorie's partner Dennis Padilla tended to show that Claudine, while still with Rico, was already part of the Marjorie-Dennis barkada which included Raymart.

Dennis said to broadcaster Karen Davila after Rico's death: "Claudine was getting in touch with Raymart through me... Last week ng February, Raymart was helping Claudine for a suprise party for Rico... bigla na lang, 'di na raw tuloy. This was mga first week of March-March 6 yata. Sabi ni Claudine, 'Wala na kami.'" The party for Rico's March 14 birthday, Dennis said, was to be held at Ratsky's, the bar-restaurant owned by brothers Randy and Raymart Santiago. Claudine was therefore with Raymart. the explanation went, only because she was organizing the suprise party for Rico and Raymart's resto-bar.

But Rico's friend ask: Of all the bars and restaurants in the world, why Ratsky's? Why a resto-bar owned by Raymart when Claudine knew very well Rico was allergic to the fellow? And for a party in Rico's honor?
On March 11 Claudine and Raymart were at Ratsky's on Morato when two movie scribes chanced on them. "Binati pa nga ako ni Claudine," says one of the scribes. "Tapos binulungan pa ako na me pina-plan nga daw siyang suprise party kay Rico."

Strange, Rico's camp says, because that was the 11th, or a good five days after the 6th, the date Dennis said Claudine had cancelled the party. Comments the scribe, "Siguro ayaw niyang pansinin naming si Raymart ang kasama niya, na 'di nga namin masyadong pinagkaabalahan n'un."

It was after the press had picked up her fight with Rico the Claudine began seen with Raymart more frequently in public. Entertainment writers Cristy Fermin and Joe Barrameda saw them with Marjorie's crowd at Eastwood City. Joe recalls, "Nagpadala pa nga ng pagkain si Claudine. May mga balikbayan daw silang ine-entertain."

Then on March 24, the date Claudine said-in an interview with "The Buzz" after Rico's death-that she had her long talk with Rico, she was again with Raymart, this time at Rembrandt Hotel. A showbiz scribe says: "Um-attend sila ng party ng anak ng babaeng nililigawanni Jun-jun Santiago." (Jun-jun Santiago, recently separated from Sherilyn Reyes, is Raymart's brother.)

Yet in "The Buzz," Claudine let the public think that her talk with Rico was a prelude to their getting back. She quotes him saying: "And after Holy Week when I get back, sabi niya, alam na raw niya kung ano ang gagawin... He promised when he gets back we're gonna fix things, we'll talk.." She would add, "He broke his promise again..."

The next day, March 25, or one day before Rico left for Palawan, Claudine and Raymart were again with each other, this time at Ratsk's Morato. A band member who plays there Mondays claims he'd seen them there once or twice before that. "Hindi ko naman iniisip na kami ang dinadayo nila doon," he says candidly. "Siguro nagkataon lang na 'pag Monday, kokonti ang mga tao kaya gusto nila Monday."

He also remembered that night, he saw Rico also at Ratsky's. "Sumilip din doon si Rico, may mga kasama, parang may hina-hunting," he says. "Siguro nababalitaan niya na lagi doon sina Claudine at Raymart, pero hindi naman niya nakita that time. Pero that time split na sila, na-diyaryo na. Gusto lang siguro mapatunayan sa sarili niya, kasi nga nababalitaan nang si Raymart at Claudine na. O baka rin naman napadaan lang talaga kasi 'yung ibaba ng Ratsky's kanila e. Gagawing Tequilla Joe's 'yon e."

RICO VS. CLAUDINE

People in the ABS-CBN were aware of the Rico-Claudine split even before news of it leaked to the press. It had become very obvious, in any case.

Rico's birthday celebration on "A.S.A.P." fell on March 17, Sunday, and coincided with the first anniversary of the Hunks. Claudine had a VTR greeting for Carlos Agassi, a Hunk and her soap co-star. Yet nothing from her to him-no greetings, taped or live, no special number, no message read on-air, or any of the customary, if unfortunate, trimmings of celebrity birthdays on TV.

On March 19, news of their split hit the tabloids.

One article went: "Nung bagsak na bagsak si Rico, nung mga panahong galit na galit sa binata ang mga tagahanga ni Judy Ann Santos, ay si Claudine ang nag-angat sa kanya.
"Hindi minsan man ipinaramdam ng aktres sa binata na siya ang nakakaangat, inalalayan ito nang husto ni Claudine, para kahit paano'y makabawi.
"Ilang taon 'yun na parang nanay na may karga-kargang sanggol na inaalagaan si Claudine para lang bumalik ang tiwala ni Rico sa kanyang sarili."

It was clear Claudine would kill Rico in the press.

What the article failed to mention was that Rico had gotten in trouble with Judy Ann's fans precisely because of Claudine. For she and Rico had picked up a courtship at a time when Judy Ann's fans were already trilling to the Judy Ann-Rico tandem. The same tandem, moreover, which had already given Rico two certified hits (Paano ang puso ko? and Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay) on the big screen.

So it might be asked: If Claudine hadn't come into Rico's life then, who knows how many movies he might have made in the last three years? Or how much bigger his name might've become in far shorter a time? For if she hadn't happened to him, would limbo have happened at all?

Also that March 19, Rico taped in Montemar for the Lenten episode of "Magandang Tanghali Bayan." Tito Caluag, a Jesuit priest who was Rico's confidant and friend, got him on the phone that day.

Of the conversation, Father Caluag would later write: "He was very much affected by the controversy, not so much by the incident per se, but rather by two things- one, how it reminded him of the demons he had to face and slay, and two, how it would affect his family, especially his father and mother. He broke down while we were talking."

Rico asked Father Caluag to call his mother, Teresita Castro Yan, to assure her that he was not what the papers said he was. He then asked Father to pray for him.

Dominic recounts what happened after. "Sa Montemar, that was the time things came out already. All the chismis that's coming out... Natatakot siya. Fear about what's gonna happen, fear about what's in store for him, what's gonna happen to his career if he falls or whatever....

"Tapos, biglang nag-sorry. 'Dom, I'm sorry.' 'Why?' 'Baka lang hindi ko makayanan. Baka lang maapektuhan 'yung grupo natin. Maapektuhan 'yung 'MTB'... He was serious."

On March 23, Dominic was once more with Rico out of town. "Nasa Fontana kami..." Dominic recalls. "When we were buying food sa Chowking, automatic na biglang umiyak. Sabi niya, 'Pare, ang hirap 'pag mag-isa ka.' 'Yun lang ang hirit niya. Wala siyang binanggit na pangalan."

Dominic then asked Rico if he wanted to talk about it. And Rico answered: "As far as I'm concerned, I didn't do anything." After a pause, Rico looked at Dominic: "Dom, do you think ba nanggugulpi ako? Do you think I will lay a hand sa babae?"

"Tinignan kong ganyan," Dominic says, "'tapos cheers kami."

I admire Claudine because of her exemplary strength she showed in the past. Despite of the intrigues, experiences either good and bad, etc. , still she's able to cope up all of those. I believe she was gifted with so much strength, courage and a very supportive family. So whatever hearsays whethere it is true or not, I still want to see the over-all personality of the person. Admittedly, I don't know Claudine that much but eventhough I still like her among our youngstars today. She has a unique personality and she's a good actress, too!

I know all of us have our own preferences in choosing our fave actors and it is not good to look at if we tend to argue that this person is better than the other. This is definitely not debatable!

Whatever the controversies between Rico and Claudine I think it would be better to lay these to rest. After all Rico is gone and Claudine is still in the process of healing. It is really unfair to judge Claudine that way. I still give her the benefit of the doubt. As what the two young couple said before that they are the ones who know the real story and I think what Claudine did by not giving the exact reason of the broke-up is well-respected. I know for a fact that there are lots of people who want to put her down but luckily she emerges to be the winner. What she'd been through is not just an ordinary situation. Yes it is true they're no longer committed but I still believed that even if you are seeing someone or romantically linked with other person that doesn't mean that you don't love and care your ex-bf at all. You can't just throw the 4-year relationship and I think some other people didn't realize that.

Perhaps Claudine felt the guilt the fact the she was not with him in Dos Palmas. But then fate speaks and Rico was gone. Their love story is still unfinished one. We can never conclude what will happen next after the Dos Palmas if only Rico still alive. We really can never tell...

With regards to the YES magazine, I would somehow believed it if they were able to get the other side of the story, too! Again, it would be better if we won't jump into conclusion at once.

On the other hand Patricia Sandejas is the ex-gf of Rico and I have nothing against her. But I understand that there relationship lasted for more than 4 years and I believed Patricia was the one who dumped Rico. Rico was really in pain and it was the time that he noticed Claudine's presence who in the same fate also in the process of healing.

I don't know them personally, it just so happend that I know what Claudine felt. Losing someone you loved is really hard and it will take time for her to realize that someone is already gone.

I think it would be much better that instead of putting her down why not pray for her fast recovery. Prayer makes miracle, isn't it?

After everything, Mrs. Sita Yan was interviewed and she said the reason they didn't let Claudine in at first was becoz of the "controversies"... meaning nadala sila sa mga kumakalat na kung ano-ano. Hindi rin natin masasabi na kay Claudine mismo nanggaling ang mga balita... siguro dun lang sa mga nagmamalasakit sa kanya... and of course, pinalaki na lang ng media. (We all know how the media can do that). Pero they decided to let her come na rin dahil they realized how much she really wanted to... and Bobby confirmed that his mom and Claudine did hug at the wake.

Bobby even said that there are things in Rico and Claudine's relationship that only the two of them will ever know about... and he and his family no longer have bitterness towards Claudine. They are willing to talk to her... so I guess what we can do is pray that everything will be okay between them coz that's what Rico would want.

Tsaka... it didn't take long for Claudine and Tina to be okay, so I don't think ganun kalaki ang kasalanan ni Claudine. And Rico himself talked to Claudine before he left for Palawan... so I believe they were in the process of healing. I don't think they would've talked at all if they hated each other's guts, diba???

What's the good of asking what would've happened if we'll never know??? Let's put the all the negative issues to rest dahil wala na si Rico... I love both Rico and Claudine, and I still admire them both very much. Neither of them are perfect, but who in this world really is??? What's important is that they have inspired me in all the years I've followed their careers... and continue to do so.

About the yes magazine... yes, I've read it and although some may be true, what I can say is there were a lot of assumptions in there so we still don't know the whole story (and we never, ever will). I learned this once in a Christian children's program... "Never assume." It's true that we can learn a lot from children.

It was Mayor Joey Marquez who helped Claudine have access to the tomb of Rico at the Manila Memorial Park in Parañaque City when she visited it at 1 p.m. on the 40th day after his death!... Claudine has visited her LPL condo five times! She was with her sisters and some helpers when she visited it for the first time. i was a fan of claudine when i was in grade school, ang tv days pa nya.. tapos nakalimutan ko na, ive been busy with school. tapos when rico died napansin ko ulit si claudine... after the tumultous events of her life during rico's death, i must say she earned my respect, as in sobra din akong bilib sa kanya. sabi ko pa sa sarili ko, this is really a strong girl and buti na lang, may family siya to support her. tapos God-fearing din pala, so kahanga-hanga talaga. after that, all-out support na ko kay claudine despite all the negative things being said about her.. parang di mo rin naman kasi mapaniwalaan yng mga yun.

hayyyyy mathace, ako rin!!! actually, i really didn't notice her until her role in pare ko. kahit teenie bopper pa siya, i kinda felt that she would grow into a great actress. i tried to follow her movies, pero since nasa states ako, it wasn't that easy. then my mom brought home a video copy of dahil mahal na mahal. man, that movie was awesome....partly because of rico yan. tapos yun lang..when i see them parang okay lang, but i still admired claudine's acting.

since rico's death i slowly realized how strong of a person claudine is. kasi, i have friends that went to grade school with her and they told me that she was a snob daw. kaya i thought na snob siya. now i don't feel that way at all. i give her my outmost respect, not only for her great acting skills, but also the person that she grew up to be. so poised, so strong, so professional, so respectful, and so beautiful. yun' lang....

i agree with you guys.. actually before I just consider claudine as one of the stars in the entertainment industry, but when rico died.. don ko siya hinangaan at nagustuhan.. even me.. i can't imagine myself kung anong gagawin ko kung nangyari sakin yung pinagdaanan niya... all i can just say is......she's.. yung mga sinasabing snob si claudine nung grade school, hindi ko talaga alam.. and kung totoo man, she may have changed now, ang tagal na nun no! ang hirap kasi with claudine, she's always mistaken to be mataray, first impression kasi sa kanya ganun. lalo na pag nakita mo in person, kasi iba talaga ichura niya in person kesa sa tv.. mas maganda siya in person and mas may dating.. basta ang alam ko, mabait talaga siya. after all the things that happened to her, siguro nakikita na ngayon ni claudine ang mga totoong kaibigan at nagmamahal sa kanya. and at the same time, dahil sa mga pinakita ni claudine, hindi na rin nahihiya ang ibang mga tao na ipakita ang support sa kanya dahil alam nilang claudine's worth every support given by them :)

i like claudine even before pa, during ANG TV days pa talaga. but i forgot about her na kasi naging busy rin ako sa studies ko and parang bang she has changed a lot especially during her time of relationship with Mark with all the bad rumors against her hindi ko na siya pinansin. But after a few years had past, i suddenly noticed her and napansin ko na gumanda siya lalo and parang hindi naman totoo yung mga tsismis sa kanya coz it seems that SHE herself even didn't bother about the rumors and i don't even mind kung ano man sabihin ng mga tao against her.

Then, Rico died i'd really admire her for being that strong and intelligent girl especially during her interviews. Yeah! i also noticed that she's a bit snob nga before kasi i've seen her when she was still young parang siyang suplada and namimili ng taong kakausapin, para bang she's the type of girl na sosyal and lam mo nah na spoiled brat. But now, i know she wasn't like that maybe before yun, kasi nga tinging ko palang spoiled siya and she's the youngest in the family, claudine have changed a lot now and grown up to be beautiful, mature and smart girl which makes her a real STAR.

I didn't really get to see her during her Ang TV days coz I was already in the U.S. I only saw her through movies like May Minamahal... I thought she was just another actress (the younger sister of Gretchen). Then I started watching her in Home Along and OkiDokiDoc... I thought she was a sweet girl and I esp. liked her role as Toni. I didn't really know much about her... 'til I rented some of those showbiz talkshows from Filipino video stores. That was the time she was w/ Mark... I thought they made an okay couple... but then I was hearing all this gossip about them... but I didn't care much about their personal lives. All I knew was I liked their movie Mangarap Ka (and I started to think that Claudine had potential to be a great actress).

Then when I got TFC, that's when I started getting curious about her loveteam w/ Rico Yan. I just had this gut feeling that they did like each other... no matter how much they denied it. Naging crush ko si Rico nung pinagtambal sila sa MSP at Dahil Mahal... and it seemed like they would do anything to fight for their love. From then on, I started following both of their careers... I joined Rico/Claudine Cyberfriends to know the latest updates on both of them. From the articles I read and interviews I watched of Claudine... I started to like her more and more (not merely as an actress but as a person). She was honest enough to admit that she made mistakes during her teenage years... she used to party a lot... but she became a Christian and was slowly starting to change. I admired the way she handled both her career and her love life... it must've been hard but she managed to balance both. After these recent trials in her life, I never doubted her coz I was confident in what kind of person she was... from what I've learned about her in the past four years. She's God-fearing... and I believe she is becoming closer and closer to Him... her faith remains strong.

I guess the only way my feelings have changed for Claudine is that I continue to like her more and more as the years go by. I could list so many things why... but that would take too long.
