guys we all work hard in the gym but what's the point of bragging to the whole world what you have achieved??? fine you may have a six pack but does that mean you already have a nice bod???? i know a lot of people with six pack but their bodies are still crap

Very true, pareng Blake!
It doesn't matter, from the wholistic point of view, that you have a sixpack or the best defined and most ripped or most massive body in the whole wide world, if you're not a great person to begin with. Of course, from the point of view of strictly body building, morals and ethics fly out of the window and we just give recognition to those who have the hottest abs and builds.:)

kindly read the topic. it says THE SIXPACKS CLUB right? if you wanna make the WHOLISTIC BEINGS ORG then go make ur own. i just can't understand why u have to put down a person who is proud to tell the world that finally - HE ACHIEVED THE BODY HE ALWAYS WANTED TO HAVE. isn't that great enough to begin with?
that's what i hate about the philippines. there's too much democracy.
as for the crappy bodies with sixpacks, i dunno about them. maybe i should make this the GENERALLY FIT AND WELL TONED BODY CLUB, huh? but then again, the abs is the hardest to focus on. and that's why i'm proud of it and that's why i made this thread.
peace.

Pare ikaw naman talaga ano? sobrang bigat yata ng chip on your shoulders. I never said na insiginificant ang sixpack mo. Its great but what's greater is if you're a great person if you have a 6pack and do not succumb to the pride that cometh before the fall.
And if you insist on roughing it out, then you can challenge me anytime.

blake and brandon, i agree with you that having a sixpack doesn't mean you are totally fit, in mind, body and soul but please let us not misunderstood this thread. clone19 i believe is just trying to know who have sixpacks here, no more no less. he did not say anything about having sixpacks is the penultimate in fitness. so i guess let us just let him be with this thread and maybe this thread would progress into something that is beneficial to all. maybe he could give some tips on how he got his sixpack. after all many men and women, if not all, are aspiring to get one. what do you think?
:macho:

Apr 16, 2002, 06:47 AM
for those aspiring to get a six pack, there is the bodybuilding forum. I don't get the point why we have to make this type of thread IMHO. f this was such, then sana I could have put up THE TRICEPS CLUB and ibarramedia could have put up THE 200 POUND BENCHERS CLUB I hope you get my point.

Apr 16, 2002, 08:11 AM
ok. i got ur point, blake. however, this thread is already existing and giving negative remarks can be harassing to clone19's freedom of expression. maybe we can be constructive about this. let us just see how this thread progresses.

It's clone19's thread after all.....he just wants your opinions about the topic. PEXers, please be constructive. Ok? :kyle:

visible abs are hard to get due to the nature that you have to lose lots of fat in your stomach area. but with proper training and diet, anyone can achieve washboard abs!
to those who want to get a muscular body or simply just getting a six pack: just be patient! rome wasnt built in a day.

dude clone19! pano mo ginawa?
SITUPS. IVE BEEN DOING IT SINCE FRESHMAN YEAR. SOPHOMORE YEAR KO LANG NALAMAN IM DOING IT THE WRONG WAY KAYA SUMASAKIT ABS PERO ALA NANGYAYARI. BILI KA NG FITNESS BOOK IF UR AS DUMB AS I WAS ON WORKOUTS. :P
i mean complete workout lang ba sa gym?
MY GYM WORKOUT IMPROVED EVERYTHING EXCEPT MY ABS.
or did you still have to engage in other sports?
WOULD U BELIEVE I HATE SPORTS?
what about diet?
DONT HAVE A PROPER DIET.
uso ba sa 'yo 'yung after 6?
I CANT STAND IT. I EVEN HAVE MIDNIGHT SNACKS.
did you have to take any food supplements?
NOPE. NO MORE MONEY AND I THINK ITS RISKY FOR MY AILING HEALTH.
gano ba kalaki bilbil mo dati (hehehe)?
LETS SAY AS A KID (GradE School) I WAS OBESE AND GOT THINNER AND THINNER.
sorry for being too inquisitive, excited lang akong magkarron din ng six packs!
BUT DONT IMAGINE A SIXPACKS NA SUPER BULGE OK. MINE IS 3 OUT OF 10 PA LANG IN SIZE.
ALSO DO THE WEIRD THING OF STANDING STRAIGHT AND BENDING YOUR BODY WAIST UP IN A LEFT TO RIGHT (VICE VERSA)OTION FOR A 100 TIMES EVERY OTHER DAY. TIP YAN SA AKIN NG ISANG SWIMMER. MAGANDA NA RIN KATAWAN NIYA. IT DEVELOPS THE HIPS DAW. SO NICE HIPS + SIXPACKS = ALMOST GREEK GOD. :p

Does anyone know a webpage with pictures in it on this topic?
Clone19: how often do you work them out?

Apr 19, 2002, 02:39 AM
Clone19,
What did the swimmer guy tell you? Side bends? Or to rotate your torso around in a circle? Or to bend downwards and hold your torso parallel to the ground, and then to raise it up erect? Sorry ha medyo malabo kasi description mo ng exercise.
BTW, where do u work out and how long do u work out per session? How many reps and sets? How long have you been working out? I think that has a great deal to do with the loss of fat over your abs....although it won't do any spot reducing at all, only reduce your overall body fat.

I WORK MY ABS ONCE A WEEK.
this is what i do to get that six pack w/o doing much cardio:
(remember: proper form, proper breathing, some rest between sets, contraction (postive and negative) is of utmost importance!)
1 set leg raises (15reps) ---- warm up
2 set leg raises (15reps) ---- w/ 10pound dumbell between my leg
3 set leg raises (15reps) ---- w/ 10pound dumbell between my leg
4 set leg raises (15reps) ---- w/ 10pound dumbell between my leg
5 set crunches (15reps) ----- w/ 50pound plate
6 set crunches (15reps) ----- w/ 50pound plate
7 set crunches (15reps) ----- w/ 50pound plate
that's all! takes me 15mins to work my six pack. easy..........
THE HARD PART?
diet! no junkfood, no soda, no iced tea, cut all visible fat from meat, no more desserts on 6 days a week! Sundays? i eat all the things i want to eat!!!!!!!! (cheat day) :)
There are no secrets to building a six pack! just consistency and patience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i've been working my abs for over 2 years now. my ab muscles just gets bigger and have more definition as time goes by because i get smarter on my training and diet.
i'm 5'8 1/2, 160lbs. and has a waist line of 29 inches.
steadyboy2k,
It took me about 3months to make my abs visible. how big are my abs? i dont know but they're big enough to carry 50 lbs. of load when i'm doing crunches. abs like biceps and chest need to be overloaded in order to get bigger.
Why am i still working my abs? because if you have a hard earned six pack, you dont want to lose it by suddenly stopping your training and diet. i plan to work my abs until i'm too old to do crunches. i dont work to have six packs, i work to have a lean and healthy body.
tip: dont do your ab workout immediately after eating unless you want to vomit. rest between sets is up to you.
When you are capable to do the next set then its time to stop resting. i usually rest between a 1min to 2.
knoty-boy,
listen, if you want a six pack really bad, you would read the whole bodybuilding thread. just do some skimming, if you see something about abs, then you could read it thoroughly and work your way to having a six pack.
if you dont have the patience to read the thread, you also will not have what it takes to get a six pack. trust me!

Knotyboy and newbies to fitness,
There's no such thing as getting a six pack without doing weight training. You HAVE TO LIFT WEIGHTS! There's no other way to go about it...unless you just want to be extremely thin, and even then, it would be MUCH EASIER to just get a weight training program with cardiovascular or aerobic exercises on the side to get your six pack exposed, than to starve yourself and punish yourself with 2,000 crunches a day. The latter amount of crunchin isn't even guaranteed to work.
So stick to the guaranteed way.....LIFT WEIGHTS!
Besides, what good is it to have a six pack of your body is ugly as to form and doesn't look like a Greek god? To have that kind of build you need resistance/weights training. Even if you crunch 1,000,000,000 times a day and eat no fattening foods, you WONT get the six pack you want.

how do u overload pala....

Apr 22, 2002, 09:47 AM
overload: the process of lifting a heavier weight as compared to the previous workout session or doing a higher number of reps with the same weight used in the previous workout session

clone,
In your stomach area!
Hold the plate in front of your chest area or a few inches of your face when doing crunches. during leg raises, put the dumbell between your feet.

i thought this was a beer drinkers thread. my bad.
i have a beer belly, and i want to get rid of it. i look like an MMDA traffic enforcer. all my fat is concentrated around my belly and sides so that's making it very difficult for me.

Wala pa akong 6-pack pero I really wanted to have one. *okay*
That's why tlaagang mega-concentrate ako sa ab-workout everyday. I have a 37 inch waistline. YUgn sides ng abdominals ko are already getting firm. Yung center na lang ang problem ko, becuase of the fat and excess skin as well. Na-over stretch kasi dati sobrang taba ko nun. Now I already lost 8 inches. :o

tol, eto na ba dapat ang basic gagawin for abs?
paki type naman in details yun best position for leg raise at cruches.
and ano ba yang number 1 to 7 mo? di ko maintindihan kasi kung 7 set w/ 50pound ba ibig mo sabihin.
lumalabas tuloy 33 sets lahat yan in 15 mins?
thanks

it starts with proper dieting. You can do crunches from sunrise till sunset but if your diet isn't in check, your abs won't appear
