I think you guys misunderstood. (Or I)
she could re-apply in ambergris anytime there's no problem about that. what she can't do is apply to OTHER CALL CENTERS for a year after she resigns in amber. that's what they call the non-compete clause. Even I have the non compete thing. I think all call centers do.
About the TC's recommendation, if the TC is gone. hmm... wait I'll ask. :D

We need Customer Interactions Associates (CSR), Inbound Sales Associates, and Technical Support Representatives. (this is immediate, if you get hired you start on monday! Oct 4)
Our office is at the 31/F 25 ADB ave., (right across The Podium mall) Ortigas Center Pasig City, 1600

Is this non-compete clause applicable for both regularized and unregularized (who worked < 6 months) employees who leave Ambergris?

A friend of mine got accepted but didn't proceed with the contract signing because he still has matters left to finish.
Now he is free from all the responsibilities and is now very able to go full time. Is he still capable of pursuing the contract signing or will he re-apply again?

and naniniwala na ako na there will be a lot of call centers that will offer you bigger pay and better opportunities pero isa lang ang matatawag mong kapamilya at kapuso at natagpuan ko yan dito sa ambergris....

Bye guys! I'm leaving soon(next week)and yes just like everbody else I have to move on. Warts and all I still love Ambergris Solutions.
(Fossil na ako masyado sa amber so lets give chance to others naman, I've witness how this company grew from only the 31st floor at discover to raffles and now market-market. I've been with a number of boss(ATM, TM, OM and AOM's) made a lot of friends, agents, TC's, Training, receptionist, IT, HR , comp&ben and many more. I definitely learned a lot but sometimes the only way to move forward is to say goodbye.)

Pardon me, I just like to share a not-so-okay experience with this company. No offense to anybody, I strongly believe I am entitled to an opinion because of what Ambergris did to me.
Few weeks ago, they had an advertisement in the newspaper saying they'd have a recruitment at Gilligan's Island in Makati. So I went there and tried my luck. I've submitted my resume, was asked to write an essay about certain things and interviewed. I was made to wait and later on had the pleasure of talking to a another lady who was really wonderful... Hehehe... She enthusiastically said that I was hired on the spot. There were 3 more persons with us who were also supposedly hired. At the latter part, I have discussed more closely the job offer and did my best to bargain. I was again asked to wait and another lady came... who was the total opposite of the wonderful lady I spoke with earlier. She also told me that they can't change the offer and that I don't fit for the position I was applying for. DUH!?! HERE'S THE CATCH: THERE WERE NO EXAMS OR TESTINGS DONE WHATSOEVER EXCEPT THE ESSAY WHICH APPARENTLY WASN'T IMPORTANT SINCE THEY DIDN'T TOUCH IT. HOW THE HECK CAN THEY MEASURE ONE'S QUALIFICATION WITH THEIR METHOD?!? I have 5+ years solid experience in my field of work, have been employed by several companies and I have more than sufficient skills. Oh, btw, just to prove myself... My last work was with Convergys Phils. I resigned because our family had to set-up our own biz but now, I still want to work in a Call Center again because I enjoy it (believe it or not. Hehehe). Convergys recruiters have the most stringent recruitment process ever known to a lot of folks. Compare their process to Ambergris...
Convergys: (may be different or have been changed, this is the process I went through prior to my stint with them)
1. Initial Interview
2. Written Exams - A. English Comprehension; B. I.T. Comprehension
3. Typing Test
4. Second Interview
5. Simulation Exams - Consisting of 3 Parts
6. Final Interview
7. Job Offering.
Ambergis:
1. Initial Interview
2. Essay <-- I doubt they use this for evaluation purposes
3. Job Offering.
I wonder what Ambergris Recruiters can say about this. If one would want to be the best, he/she has to be with the best. This is also true and applicable with Companies. Considering the above comparison, will Ambergris accomplish that?!? I wish others won't experience what happened to me.
... And finally, before I left Gilligan's Island, I have informed them that I respectfully decline the offer. I am sure there's a better Company out there and I'd be better off with them. Hehehe.

just wanted to share MY opinion on what mr. mirage said...
i know ambergris went on a recruitment roadshow at several locations. based on what the ad said: BE HIRED ON THE SPOT! therefore, i would think that the recruitment process will be speedy. as far as i know, the interviewers weren't the recruiters but the people from operations themselves.
i joined ambergris last august, and i went through the long and comprehensive recruitment process. it's like passing thru a needle! i know the recruiters are very picky and that's because the clients want WINNERS.
a job offer is self-explanatory, if one offers you something and you're not happy with it, then it's your choice whether you would accept it or not. no need to be sour-graping about it.
i know that convergys has openings, why don't you apply again?

Saying "as far as I know" isn't a concrete statement, one might be wrong. Have you verified first with your HR what really is happening with the recruitment? Secondly, it's a fact that you also admitted there's something inappropriate happening. Is Ambergris running out of HR Personnel that they make people from operations do the hiring for them? Do you think the recruitment process I went through was appropriate? Moreover, how would you expect to get the best people for your company if you do the recruitment that way?!?... You also mentioned... "there will be or there might have already been a shortage of qualified Call Center Personnel now". Either of the two will happen and because of incomplete informations available to the public, it's pretty hard to tell exactly when the shortage will occur but it certainly will happen.... The bottom line... If one is confident, sufficiently skilled and experienced (also has a positive outlook towards work and life), better opportunities are at hand. Companies like Ambergris might think they can just get away with it and offer Filipinos what they don't deserve. Not all Filipinos are desperate to find a job in any condition the hiring company would like.

Yes but it seemed you didn't understand. I told you our process "WAS" changed due to our IMMEDIATE hiring (You know what immediate means don't you? hope you do...) That we have to hire them for a CERTAIN PERIOD OF TIME. (I made the key words bigger so you would understand it better :D ) We used that process in order to hire as QUICKLY and as many as possible.

Recruitment was given 3 days to produce 300 agents so how would you expect them to get 300 in 3 days? MANPOWER.

You're complaning that it's too short while the others have been complaining that it's too long. Hay!!!
As for the "not-so-wonderful" girl who approached you, the least you could have done was ask for her name and request for an explanation as to why she would say that you're not fit for the position. Then you won't have to go ranting about it.
Yes, the operations people were the ones who did the interviews at Giligan's...if you don't want to take my word for it - it ain't my problem anymore.
Just so you know, ambergris IS Filipino-owned! Of course we have the Filipino's success as part of ambergris' agenda. Who said anything about us using our own kind. I know we Filipinos are smart enough not to allow companies to take advantage of us.
Anyway, I AM HAPPY WITH AMBERGRIS and we just transferred to our new hub at market market...malapit ba sa bahay namin! Wouldn't want to waste my time anymore.
Mr/Ms mirage, maybe you really are not meant to be with amber...accept it, don't dwell on it, just learn to let go. ;)

This is going to be like an energizer bunny thing... with all due respect and fairness, you deserve to be whatever you want to be... be wherever you want to be... and do whatever you want to do. Whatever reasons or purpose/s you may have, you are entitled to believe what you think is the best for you. I may have a different perspective in life and I prefer to just take things lightly now. I am not going to earn anything for going head-to-head with you Ambergris Folks. My rule of thumb is that everybody is entitled to their own perspective in life so that means we may not agree on many things. But that's life, not agreeing doesn't mean war. Surely... Different strokes for different folks. Whatever explanation you have, you can keep it. And whatever is mine, I'd rather keep it. I can't push you to think the way I do and vice versa. Anyway, I am a firm believer that "the truth will set you free"... And I strongly concur with you, I was never destined for Ambergris. Otherwise... (opps, no more comments. Hehehe).
For others who are not with Ambergris, I am letting you decide what to think of. It's up to you to decipher what I have shared.
Oh, btw... just to let you know, I got hired by one of the top 3 Call Centers in the country... I am going to start next week and I got the offer I've been looking for. Hehehe. Life is good!
To prove that the Ambergis issue is not a big thing for me, I am not going to go further with the issue anymore. I prefer to spend my spare time with other stuffs I find more fulfillment with.

Hmm... Make it good. :) You can do it. Use your TIMER of your Avaya everytime you receive a call. Just a tip.
The second reason I resigned from Amber is because I will be facing a 2-day suspension due to AHT wrecking. :lol:

our shifts here in market market vary from 9pm- 5 am (this is in my account.. the gaming related one). this account operates from 9pm-2pm of the next day.

Half day lang po, 7:30am-12:00. Ang sched ko kasi sa work ko ngayon is 1am to 10am kaya masasagasaan talaga. How bout your day-offs? Pwede ba mag-request ng day-offs sa inyo?

I've been waiting for two weeks already since my last interview so i followed up and HR said I passed and I'm already for a job offer but they said that the account i'm supposed to be in is still pending. The date is INDEFINITE. Do you think this will take a long time? should I wait?
Can I just apply at Market Market and tell them I already got interviewed at Ortigas? I'm a bit worried HR from Ortigas might forget about my appplication...

Yes. Look for Ms Cris Quiben or Ms Bettina Jakosalem if we have internal openings for HR and if you're qualified for the position. :)

As of now the Generals account (PC gaming) is immediately hiring techsupport reps. If you guys could come early within this week (only) you can be hired within the day and start training asap.
the Xion account though is still for pooling. estimated time for hiring is next month. :)

anyway if you're knowledgeable with IT related stuff like PC hardware/sorftware, troubleshooting, and the like then there's no problem. :)
you'll have 2-3 interviews... 2 for HR and 1 for ops. no examinations just an essay form. :)

yup market market. TSR's in ambergris are tasked to do level 1 support so you should be familiar with computer hardware/software and troubleshooting. :)

I checked the Recruitment Frenzy link within the email and it says you guys are looking for L2 agents, not just L1 agents. Mas mataas ba sweldo ng L2 agents? And pano yung current L1 agents? Ambergris does NOT give the highest pay for tech support agents.
That is a FACT.
Their AD is a LIE.
I have been with Ambergris since May of Last year Headstarting their Microsoft Pc safety tech support acct.
It's not great at all.
That's why i left.
I was the first coach for that acct.
Even the damn TC's and OM's had look up/ ask me for advice regarding questions callers would normally throw at our agents.
Well, if you were an agent and you didn't have any absences within a pay period and you fall within the whole span of the night differential, you should get around 7k net per payday.
By the way, The Ops Mgr. of that acount is an egocentric ******* and one of the TC's haven't a clue of being a TC and what a TC does.
So far, Teletech and west tech support agents are the highest paid right now.
Pls correct me if i'm wrong.

Your TC and OM should treat this seriously. :( Kaya lang talagang you are the one who should adjust in that kind of work environment kasi may mga co-agents kang kayang makatagal sa ganung kalamig na officeplace. Suggest your OM or TC to adjust the temperature of aircon, patibayin mo ang katawan mo (take vitamins) or pag wala na talagang option, look for other job with a better workplace. Just like what I did. I no longer work here.

I agree with you with the OM part.. I dont want to work for him as well, he simply doesn't know what an OM should be. he just sit there and make people do all the dirty work. si B**** anyway I'm happy that I am no longer under him nor his account.

I hate the Christmas atmosphere in Ambergris this year...except for dell agents, everybody are feeling the pinch. By now you know what I mean!(while other call centers are busy having their christmas party all of us were left hanging as to why this year we all got delayed with everything!) some are even transferring call centers because of the recent development...sayang parang na tempt narin ako mag 1 yr. and 10 months na ako kung dati we're all happy may friday treat and all ngayon mismong right na nating ma receive wala parin hay....
next year I'll follow my boss, I'm gonna relocate to cyber1 :lol:
I hope Tim and the rest of the HR people get to feel what we(the agents) are feeling because of recent development. Good words are nothing without actions it will just remain to be plain words.
I have been loyal to Ambergris eversince but because of some changes that we're seeing lately, I will have to rethink and open my eyes to other option. I know a lot of us from our account are scheduled to pass our resume soon to seek "greener pastures" (these words came to my surprise from Tim L. mouth last coffee talk that if we dont like it here there are a lot of call center out there...??!! ah ok so he is willing to let us go even if we have endured all the warts and have been loyal to amber for the last 1yr and 10 months ok sabi mo eh! and to think he despises "job hoppers" which we're definitely not.)
I stayed in ambergris because of the people...even if 2/3 of my batchmate tranferred call center because of higher pay I remained here, loyal and hoping but ever since I heared these words from Tim L. himself, I felt sad maybe he thought that the bonus was too much to ask, well for somebody whose been getting 100% more than what we're earning it will be insignificant but for us who work so hard even sundays and even without promotions(although I really am satisfied just being a senior agent) the amount is yes significant.
(Talk about Employee-relations!?)
IF not for us our account wont last this long and could have already left ambergris for good! For people who has nothing to do but Lip service and just stood there and have meetings in starbucks a little Mandatory bonus is nothing but for your employees it meant a lot! At least now they gave us the chance to see what they are and rest assured come january will be out of ambergris....this may be a sharp words but yes there are a lot of other "good call centers" aside from ambergris who can offer higher pay and bigger benefits for the same job that we do now!(to throw back the word used by Tim!):(

It's been a year na pala since I applied there in Ambergris. I applied there before their Christmas vacation. Dec 20 onwards. I was just wearing a shirt and jeans.
But my advice is, you should apply there as if you are gonna apply for a corporate position. Dress well. ;)

Wala nang Friday treat?
Ang huli ko yatang Friday treat na nakuha ay 5 Visine Eyedrops and 5 Valda Pastille packs. Why? They are about to expire in 30 days. Hindi ko siya ginamit noh! Ginawa ba kaming tapunan ng pa-expire na items. Duh! :rolleyes: Gusto ko mang pamigay, makaka-offend. Pipilitin ko pang ipaubos ang items na iyon for 30 days. Kung hindi ko sasabihin, maka-disgrasya pa sa health.
Good thing I resigned on time.

I dont know also. But this incident was published in the newspaper. Forgot what the exact date it was published.
This OM was helluvah bad a$$...daw according to my friends. So 40 agents petitioned him to resign but these poor 40 agents were the ones terminated. Power tripping huh!!! :mad: :rolleyes:
I sympathize with the kid's family and these 40 agents as well. :(

Yeah that's true. :(
But the story about the 40 agents petitioning him to resign isn't true. There was a petition going around, but it was about a request for better management of the account. Frankly, that account is a mess. So disorganized. :ayaw:
There are 40 agents subject to termination, though, according to the OM. These agents have negative baleen points already.
But yeah, the OM is bada$$, and not in a a good way. :flog:

hay you can't expect anything good from Ba***!!!! I know him since his Badgers days and frankly a lot of people DONT LIKE HIM at all. We were all surprise that he was promoted as OM.. maybe because he was part of the pioneer team.

Wag na kayong mag apply sa Ambergris. Grabeh, New Year's Eve ngayon, and walang food na available sa pantry, whether free or for sale. As in walang food, and wala man lang warning sa agents na walang food! Walang atmosphere ng New Year's celebration. Walang music, walang confetti, walang torotot...wala talaga. Patay ang atmosphere dito sa Market Market. Wala man lang effort sa part ng management! I'm so happy I am leaving!
