I received an offer from Globesoft, a company that is based in Singapore. Just last week I emailed my resume to them although I'm not yet that serious in getting a new job. I received an email from them yesterday asking for my updated resume and contact numbers, and now they are already offering me the job!
I need help whether to accept this job or not, I know nothing about this company and I'm asking those currently based in singapore if u know this Globesoft company, their business and status of the company itself(I'll be doing a check also tonight). Part of the email goes like this:

> a) The position will be for a contract period of 1
> year with Globesoft
> b) Basic Salary 3500 S$ per month
> c) Medical: 40 S$ per month on production of bills.
> d) Notice of two months periods from your side.
> e) One way air ticket from current location to
> Singapore for self
>
> Please confirm this ASAP.
>
> Note : For the first 6 months in each calendar Year,
> 15% of your
> salary will be withheld by Globesoft. Employee taxes
> are the responsibility
> of the organisation he / she is working for. Your
> taxes are filed in March
> of each calendar year. Depending on your stay /
> income, a refund would be
> given to you after completion of assessment by the
> IRAS (Inland Revenue
> Authority of Singapore).

What do u think?
I'm currently receiving a salary between 25-30K/month so it's not even 4X of my current salary here :( plus the cost of living there is higher, and Globesoft will be cutting 15% pa ! :depressed:

yvetta,

i'm based in Singapore but i get to be assigned to different countries plus (drum roll) i get 2 weeks off here sa 'Pinas after working for 4 weeks straight (including weekends).

well, life is good in Singapore. di ka ma-hohomesick kasi madami din na Pinoy dun (just go to Lucky Plaza on a weekend) but the cost of living is indeed high, sagot ba nila yung housing mo? how about your food? clothing allowance et al? if not, then you can chop off another $1k+ in your salary. don't bother about buying a car in Singapore, its soooo expensive not to mention that you pay for parking fees even if its parked under your own garage.

bearing in mind all the cons i've mentioned above, i'd still go for it if were you. security is one of the things i like the most in Singapore. its one of the safest places in SE asia. commuting via bus or MRT is very easy even a 6 yr old can go to and from school unaided. last but not the least, the malls are always on sale all year long :D

Hi,
3500 per month!!!wow...not bad at all, but be prepares malaki ang expectation nila sa iyo.
Oki good luck
