If I have capital, a strong mind and back and am searching for new opportunities in the Philippines, what small business would do well and where should it be located?

I was hoping to elicit responses that would give me an idea of what is needed. I read an interesteing post regarding the need for High Value and grafted fruit trees.

I spoke recently with a family friend and she mentioned the need for quality seeds. Agricultural products can be hugely profitable.

I am trying to determine a local need that is currently unfilled. Makati Tech centers and all the buzz with Wireless and Wi Fi make opportunities abound.

Import/Export, particularly on personal want basis, can also be hugely profitable.

Any more thoughts or directions would be appreciated.

well, if you are open minded, you may try mlm. the risk is smaller than the traditional small business but the ROI comes in a few days.

hi. kung small business, nagfafranchise kami ng rice in a box. yung rice with toppings na nakalagay sa box. inooffer namin ito for 120,000-150,000 pesos. kasama na sa payment lahat ng gagamitin to cook our product plus an attractive booth and a 1 week FREE supply of toppings. you just have to pay 90 thousand downpayment and the rest, pwedeng hulugan na lang. if u are interested or if u want to try our product, txt me at 0917-8985413, reply to this msg, private msg me or e-mail me at cn_karl@yahoo.com . if u also have another friend who is interested, txt me din. successful referrals = 10,000 pesos.

If your really serious of starting a business better start with something you love to do! Mahirap kasing mag-commit sa business na di mo gustong o kayang paandarin. Even if you have the money to start it... imprtant pa rin ang commitment. Me I run a computer rental shop and I work 12 hours a day 7 days a week. I magine not having a life outside of work (No night life etc..). I've been doing it for a year now and its not that fun. The only thing that keeps me going is the thought that I choose this life, I want to be in charge of my life! be my own boss and be accountable only to myself and no one else. Someday I know I have to pay attention to other aspects of my life but for now my business is my life.... Think about it! You really must start with something you love to do!

Some private messages back are exactly the kind of things I was seeking to avoid.
MLM's , Secret Wealth plans, buy ins to failing companies etc ...

Let me clarify . . .

Doing what one loves is the way to wealth and happiness, I agree. But what is needed in the Phils? Another , bodega?, another computer store? another Bicycle repair? That's not what I am seeking.

Rather .....

Finding a need and satisfying a demand. If there is nonthing anyone wants, then why invest? Starting a business to waste time and money is not a good idea. To make money while doing good for the society is the best way.

That Fruit tree thing ...

My Sister-in-law tells me to send her seeds in bulk. (Shipping Container quantities.)
That there is a market for top-quality plants on a regional basis.

Rather than just going the route of importer of DKNY, Gap, Bass, Levis, etc ... Iwas hoping for a real inspiration.
