So you got talent, you got wits, you got partners, you got market. How do you start a software company that does not need a huge capital and can function only based on clients' budget.
Those experienced businessman/women out there, share ur experience.
I wanna be boss instead of calling somebody boss.

Check out the Filipino Developers' Message Board (http://www.pinoyexchange.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=45013), we schedule get-togethers' once a month and we can talk about ideas.
You really don't need capital (money) for software - you need development time and talents. Your cash will only go to computers, resources like books and training, travel, representation... little marketing.
Are you sure about your market? ;)

now if you have small capital to start with, would you put it in marketing or in product development. I'd say, get others to market it for you! *okay*

why is everybody afraid of having clients/market???
Or should i say prospect namin, asked them if they need service, they said yes. Mahal kasi sa mga big time software companies kaya di sila maka avail.....we can change that!!!
zimdude - yes we have that 'other' to market it. A veteran, and knows a lot of people. glad to have him....

Assuming that we have the market, what should i do to start the business...Does anybody have a story to share, or people here are just a bunch of employees who doesn't aspire to be the BOSS.

Jong, I am assuming that you know all the skills required for software development and you're only asking how to setup your company?
I would suggest that you register as single proprietor in dti first. Most companies require a legal entity for their transactions.
Next, If you have all the skills requirements or you can find people who are willing to be paid on a per milestone basis then you can start doing business with very little capital expense.
Though, they were right Jong. The success rate of starting a software company from scratch is very slim....but what the heck, just go for it.
If you fail, then you'll learn. Just remember that a good software engineer always have a backup. :)
Goodluck!!!

Tsaka kelangan mo rin ng back up shempre.
