Only you can say if it is worth the sacrifice.
If you really want to be a doctor, with all its heartaches, disappointments, fatigue, inability to earn (for the next 10 years at least), it's still gonna be worth it. Nothing can really replace the happiness and elation helping a patient get well.
Now, if you're only going to be in medicine because you think it's lucractive monetarily, forget it. Matagal pa iyan. Magbusiness ka na lang. Ever heard of the licensed doctors taking up nursing units just to be able to get jobs abroad? Be forewarned! Also, mahal mag-med.
Be a doctor because you know that in your heart it's the right calling for you. Be a doctor because you truly want to help. Be a doctor because you want to make a difference. Be a doctor for all the right reasons and everything will be worth it.

Hirap talaga. I stopped for a year, di muna itinuloy ang internship ko.
Pero ngayon on training again. I agree with eye doc, Nothing can really replace the happiness and elation helping a patient get well.

I'm already an incoming third year medical student, and there are still times when I feel like I'm living a lie.

It has always been said that if one considers his work as just like playing, work would never be burdensome. True, there are hardships during training, but I think everything is worth it.

I think you have to think things over.. are you taking the course because you want to or someone wants you to take the course? I think it'd be a waste of time on your part if you do not enjoy what you are doing.

Yes it's hard when you are in training. The hours are long. There are so many people vying for your attention- patients, consultants and interns!
Is it worth it?
Yes. Training is something one has to undergo to be able to seve our patients better. That's what medicine is- SERVICE.
The better question really is- Is it worth it to be a doctor?
You'd have to search your soul for the reasons why you wanted to be a doctor in the 1st place. The hours are long. The financial rewards are not great. It's not for everybody. Even doctors are having second thoughts on staying on as one.
I have been in practice for a few years now. I still put on long hours with my patients. I can't go on vacation for long stretches of time. My brothers earn more than I do. Some patients have skipped paying their bill. I have patients that I don't even have the heart to charge.
Sometimes when I see a couple after I helped deliver their long awaited baby; or when I have helped a mother thru a particularly difficult pregnancy- then I feel it's all worth it.
Bad economy and all- I have decided to stay on as a doctor in the Philippines
